Lambsburg Safety Rest Area/Welcome Center

The Virginia Welcome Center/​Lambsburg Safety Rest Area on Interstate 77 (I-​77) North is located just across the state line crossing into Virginia from North Carolina.
I stopped in to use the restroom facilities — which were very clean and modern — using a state of the art waterless urinals! They had signs posted in the restroom advertising this cool fact to you and how much water is saved per urinal per year (40,000 gallons!) — see the attached pic.
Good place to stretch, relax, and make a phone call or two, assuming you get a cell phone signal here — you are right on the edge of the Appalachians here and cell signals can be spotty at times.

The Rest Area portion is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The facility is open to all vehicles.
From theThe Welcome Center portion is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily — closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Information is available about local and state attractions, weather and traffic.

The Welcome Center area was closed when I arrived as it was after 5:00 pm.
