Beautiful park and lake. Absolutely love visiting here. Great for picnics, feeding ducks, kid playtime,(I believe there is recreational fishing) as well. Did some photography here as well with my daughter’s boyfriend. Pretty trees and plants and flowers for Lancaster CA.

Such a beautiful place to get away from it all. Lots of ducks and geese and plenty of picnic tables! There are grills everywhere and multiple playgrounds. The long trail around the whole lake is exactly a mile so it’s a great place to go for a run. There are always families there and people walking their dogs so I actually feel safe to go there alone, unlike many places in the AV.

This park is far from a hidden treasure. Took my family there on a Saturday and was extremely disappointed. The only green you see is the filthy pond water. This place is overrun with Mosquitos and covered in duck poop. Not to mention the questionable people we ran into.

Wow this park sure made a comeback. A few months ago the water was low and green. Tons of flies everywhere and it was just depressing to look at. I went over the weekend with my family and it was a whole lot nicer. The water looked a lot cleaner and there were tons of ducks. The playgrounds are well kept and are never crowded. My only concern is if you come during the hotter months, the equipment gets super hot and there is no shade. There are plenty of benches and picnics areas for you and your family to sit, relax, and enjoy something to eat. A lot of people come to fish but I’ve actually never seen anyone catch anything. I think this is good way to kill a few hours and get the little ones tired. My daughter used to always sleep on the ride home. Don’t get worried if on the way there you pass the park. The street you turn right on(William James Barnes Ave) goes through the airport before reaching Apollo Park.

This is definitely my favorite park!!! I love that they have several playgrounds and the lake. The ducks herr and wildlife are friendly. People come here to fish, take long walks, feed the ducks, bike, and have a good time with the family. I really enjoy this park!

This is a wonderful park that my 2 boys enjoyed all the different play stations. We brought a few slices of bread to feed the ducks and the kids really enjoyed seeing the different types of ducks.

Hands down it’s the best place to take the family when you just want to get out of the house && have some affordable fun. It’s huge && has play grounds && grills to have BBQs. Also has a(lake/pond) in the middle filled with ducks. Only downside is the lack of shades, other then that it’s a perfect spot for romantic picnics, or to just go && enjoy some time to yourself or with the fam(:

One of the best free activities you can do in the AV. You will never find it «just driving by» so hopefully you’ll make it a point to take the fambam out there for a fun family outing. The place is huge — great for picnics, running, playing, and feeding semi-aggressive feathered animals. Seriously, feed those geese at your own risk! There’s 3 or 4 different playgrounds placed around the lake’s perimeter so you can easily spend an entire morning there if you let your kid drag you to every single one of them. The playgrounds are all clean and never over crowded. Lots of picnic benches with covered seating areas, lots of nice mature pine trees, and a good jogging path. Part of the fun is feeding those scary geese. I’ll be the one running and screaming past you. My only gripe is that the playgrounds in the AV really need shade. It’s ridiculous that all the public parks aren’t equipped with sunshades for the kids. Don’t city officials leave their offices in the summer?

Sitting next door to the Lancaster Airport. 3 miles from Edwards AFB and 3 miles from downtown Lancaster, this park /fishing hole is probably one of the best kept secrets in the Lancaster Valley. The park is open all year round and the last time I visited, it was free to park, fish, play and BBQ but, since the park is open to all, you will need a fishing license to fish which, any of the gas stations in Lancaster will be more than happy to sell you. The park alone is beautiful and host ducks, geese and other birds native to the Mojave Desert. The lake is also well stocked year round with Rainbow Trout but, I’ve managed to bag a few Small Mouth Bass, Blue Gills and a Cat Fish too. If you should find yourself in the Lancaster area, your car probably broke down or your lost. But seriously. Go grab some KFC or make a run for the boarder then, stop by and check out the park while you get your grub on.
