This year was our first year at Beck’s. They have plenty of trees to choose from, with many different varieties of trees. A quick 30 minute drive from Columbus, it still feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. They have all the bells & whistles of some of the larger tree farms, without the prices. Cut your own firs for $ 35& spruce for $ 25. Lots of helpful folks there to shake those loose needles & bundle your tree for travel. Hot chocolate & homemade Christmas ornaments for sale inside the barn. Large wheeled carts are available so that you don’t have to drag your tree through the fields. Saws are provided. All in all, a wonderful tree farm. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that the trees(Norway Spruce) were a bit short for my taste. Very fat, but not as tall. Next year, though, they should be just right! No need to pay the high prices of other cut your own farms when this little gem is around!!!

My son and I came to Beck’s this year after a bad experience with our families traditional tree farm over the summer. I found it on Unilocal!I was surprised to find that any pine tree you cut is $ 25. I am used to paying $ 35-$ 50 for a nice tree and having to check the price tag every time I find one that I like. Not worrying about price was a nice change, so I could focus on the best tree for my needs. In my previous experiences, I am used to having to wait for a beat up old school bus to pick me up, cutting a tree, then waiting in the cold to be picked up again. In this case, you just get a cart, hike up the hill, cut your tree, then bring it back down. It’s not a very large farm, so you don’t have to worry about hiking long distances, and the way back is downhill, so you don’t have to lug the tree uphill or anything. When I got back to the main building, I was surprised to find that they do not take credit cards, so BRINGCASH! We walked into their shop, that has long, collapsible tables for sitting and having free hot chocolate and boxed cookies, and a fake fireplace at the end. They sell second hand Christmas decorations for as little as $.10 on up as well as some collectables and antiques, but I didn’t notice many hand made decorations, or fresh wreaths or anything. Altogether it was a nice experience, but I will probably continue looking for a nicer place to cut a tree, and sit by the fire or shop hand made decorations afterwards. But if I can’t find something really nice, I won’t have a problem coming back.

My family has been coming to Beck’s Christmas Tree Farm for years. We’ve always had a real tree, and there is something special about walking through the rows and picking the perfect one. Its even better if its in the snow(sorry dad!). If you’re not into the whole sawing thing, they do have precut ones that you can choose from up near the front. But at least walk through and take a look. They have saws that you can rent or you can bring your own if you have a favorite. The family is friendly and sometimes the family dog will run around with you and help you pick out the best tree. They will bag it up and help you load it up. Its a great place to make a new tradition of going and cutting down a beautiful tree that will make your whole house feel like Christmas!

‘Tis the Season to be… Fabulous! Absolutely adore Beck’s Xmas Tree Farm for everything the Holidays are supposed to be and more! What a welcome and wonderful wave of warm, fuzzy tinglies came all over me just pulling up the long gravel driveway, past the Beck family home and into a clearing that revealed rows and rows of picture perfect trees standing at attention. Each one more unspoiled and pristine than the next, you almost don’t know where to begin. Well, when in Rome, or so they say… Grab a saw, a little red cart and head back behind the big barn to begin your hunt… Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir, Scotch Pine, Blue Spruce… who knew there were so many different types of Christmas tree?! And I love them all! Find just the right one and bring your trophy back with pride as it’s shaken free of excess needles and bagged to travel back home with safely. A stop in the Beck’s gift barn is more than mandatory for some complimentary cookies, hot cocoa and a peruse of the uberaffordable Christmas décor items. Ornaments of the most precious variety start at about $ 0.25(yes, seriously) and items like wreaths and nutcrackers don’t get much higher than that. what is this, 1942? Possibly. It’s just about as nostalgia-riffic and a great place to kick off the shopping season. Beck’s is bliss… don’t miss out this Christmas and don’t forget to bring me!
