Love this place! The team is great and the salon is beautiful. I am frequently in the area to visit friends and always get my hair cut, colored and styled here by Dana. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy and had a great experience. I will be back again soon! Very happy!

I had a wonderful bridal experience at Bristle and Prim. I received prompt and informative responses to my initial inquiry and to my follow-​up questions. I live out of town and was trying to find both hair and makeup services. Dana not only gave me the info I needed about B&P’s services but also recommended makeup artists and sent me photos of their work. I found the bridal contract straightforward and reasonable.
As for the hair styling itself, it was even better than I expected, and I had high expectations. Nicole did a wonderful job from the beginning, suggesting the extensions I would need before I even came in for my trial. At the trial, she listened to me and asked good questions that I had not considered. I had a general idea of what I wanted and some photos but hardly the full picture of the style. Nicole got it and created a look in keeping with what I had envisioned.
Everything went smoothly leading up to the wedding, and the folks from B&P recommended that the stylists come to my hotel room to assure that we had plenty of space and calm when getting ready. Nicole and Brittany showed up right on time and got to styling. They did a blow out for my mom, which looked awesome, and a cool, braided updo for my MOH, who was thrilled with it. I had a few tweaks in mind after having (over) analyzed my trial hair. Nicole fully delivered on the revised version of what I wanted. I LOVED my hair and got tons of comments on how beautiful it looked. It was also lots of fun having Nicole and Brittany around, which seems an important consideration when deciding who to include in your special day.
Bottom line, you should not hesitate to book them for your wedding. If you have any concerns along the lines of those raised in the earlier review, you should raise it with them. Based on my experience, they will do whatever it takes to make sure you are comfortable and accommodated. I also found the pricing very reasonable for what I got.

Amazing haircut today at Bristle & Prim! So happy to find a convenient place downtown. Love the staff and relaxing environment. A must go for anyone who wants special treatment for an affordable price.

This salon is amazing and Ashley E’s account of the day on ¹⁰⁄₃ is not quite accurate. I was a member of the first bridal party and we left long before they did. We all had a wonderful experience and our hair held beautifully the entire day. Typically when you get a bridal hairdo you do not wash and blow out the day of. There were four in our bridal party that day and we each had an organized bag of items stored neatly by the front window. The salon couch is for guests waiting. Wonderful salon with talented stylists.

I really really wanted to like this salon but I had a not so great experience there with my bridal party.
I booked our spot several months in advance for the wedding date. I stated I had six bridesmaids and myself. And that we needed to be done by noon. They assured me with a 1030am start time and 4 stylists we would be good to go. I also asked if we could bring in our own makeup artists which they allowed for. I paid a $ 100 deposit to hold the date.
I came in for my hair trial about a month before and had a wonderful experience with the girl who does all the bridal hair. We discussed the timeline and she suggested I start makeup at 930 so I would be done by the time she was ready to start at 1030. She said their was another bridal party ahead of me but they were done by 1030am. Perfect.
About one week before the big day I received a PayPal bill from the salon for over $ 700. When I asked what this was they told me I had to pay for the entire bridal party upfront and I could just collect the money directly from my girls. Not once during the booking process was this ever communicated to me. It was incredibly stressful to deal with at the last minute. I’m not sure why everyone couldn’t just pay the salon directly. Nonetheless, I paid and moved on.
Then the big day arrives. What chaos. My makeup artist and I walk in at 930am to find another makeup artist has completely spread her entire kit all over the makeup area. Apparently she was for the other bridal party. We had to squeeze in basically right at the front door, blocking reception. It was incredibly uncomfortable. No apology from the receptionist — just a blank stare. I’m lucky my artist brought a portable kit. Then we are told that the other bridal party will still be I there for sometime. There was no room for anything. It was such a stressful way to start the wedding day.
Next the receptionist comes looking for two of my girls by name to start hair at 10am. It was always scheduled for 1030 so most haven’t arrived. I begin frantically texting everyone to come ASAP. I also had to basically oversee a schedule since the salon never once told me there was a scheduled time for each girl. We had to consider makeup timing too!
As I’m waiting to get in the hair chair the receptionist asked me to move our stuff off the front couch. Again I repeat with the double booking of two bridal parties there was no room to put anything anywhere. She seemed more concerned with the appearance of the couch than the comfort of the guests.
As for the hair– most of my girls wanted wash and Blowouts. Out of 6 of them they only washed TWO heads. At 65 $ each– a total rip off. Two of my girls needed curls and they just put their hair straight! It looked like I could have done it myself with a flat iron. Not to mention aside from my hair– nobody’s held. My MOH was recurling everyone moments before the ceremony.
And last. Even after stressing we must be done by 12– we finished at 1245. It sent me into near tears as I had photographers and videographers waiting on me back in the hotel room. And when we left the other bridal party was STILL THERE.
Aside from the girl who does the brides hair– this place needs to learn better organization and communication. Think twice before booking your bridal party here.

Had my hair colored by a junior stylist, but she did great work. I can’t imagine what the senior stylists are like because the woman who did my hair did absolutely terrific! Will definitely return for when it’s time for a touch up!

I’ve continued coming to B&P for over a year now and am continually impressed at the services I receive! They have also added bridal makeup and hair services to their menu, and it’s super easy to book services online now too.

I loved everything about my experience at Bristle and Prim. I am not from Lancaster but was getting married there. I was nervous about using a salon and stylists I did not know. Well there was nothing to worry about. The stylists were great — Ellie and Nicole. When I told the salon i needed a make up artists they said no problem and brought in Stephanie who was terrific. I loved everything about my experience there and highly recommend it.

Great salon in Lancaster City! I’ve had my hair done by Dana and Britanny so far. Both were absolute professionals and did excellent jobs on my hair (cut, color, blow dry, & style). I moved to Lititz 9 months ago and have visited other salons but B&P is going to be MY salon. Another plus, they use & sell Oribe products!!! Love!

In looking for a hair salon that was close to the hotel, I decided to give this place a try. First, I didn’t realize it was by appointment only so I was concerned on Saturday morning in trying to get an appointment. To my delight, I got an email back saying they could take me at 1030 that same day.
This place is wonderful. Dana helped me make decisions about my hair in a very gentle way. I never felt judged. If you’re in the area and want great service, make an appointment. You won’t regret it.

Great place! Relaxing and always more than satisfied with my hair. Had a glass of wine too. All around great place! Wonderful bunch of ladies!
