There was only like 7 things on the menu and like 3 of them they didnt even have. So minus stars for that. The food was okay, so I hope next time I go they actually have the things I want to try. Maybe they’ll taste better. Any who, inside is nice and relaxing. Brittanys on the Blvd, I’ll write you another review when you actually have whats on your menu.

I wanted to love Brittany’s, I really did. I came in with an open mind and high hopes that this could be my new spot for Cajun in the Antelope Valley. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will return after tonight’s experience. I feel that we were thoroughly taken advantage of. For what it’s worth, this review is based on the food and value for money alone. I cannot really comment on the service as we ordered our food to go. First, I would like to respond to «Andria A.» who commented that«the prices are truly reasonable, nothing is over $ 9.95». Sorry, but that is just not true at all. I ordered one portion of gumbo and one portion of jambalaya over the phone. I did not feel the need to ask how much each item cost, as I had read here on Unilocal that each item would be under 10 bucks. In addition to this, I ordered one portion of peach cobbler, also because of the rave reviews here on Unilocal. The grand total for these three items? $ 42 plus change. I had not been told the total over the phone, so imagine my surprise when I went to pick up the food and received the bill. Confused, I asked to see the breakdown of the bill. It turns out that the gumbo was $ 15.95 and the jambalaya was another $ 15.95. The peach cobbler and tax rounded out the rest. The review claiming«everything is under $ 9.95» was written 3 days before my review, so I seriously doubt that the prices have gone up by more than 50% in 3 days. Seems like«Andria A.» with only one review must be a friend or relative trying to promote the restaurant. The exorbitant pricing aside, I was still hoping for some decent food. The jambalaya was pretty average and on par with the jambalaya I make at home. The portion was way too small to justify a $ 16 price tag. I can make a 5-pound pot of jambalaya for the same money. The gumbo, however, was what really let me down. I opened the lid and saw a decent looking gumbo which appeared to fill out the whole container. But it turned out that what I saw at first was an illusion. Really, this was about 6 tablespoons of gumbo on top of a half-gallon of bare naked steamed rice. After just two spoonfuls of gumbo, I was down to bare rice which I had no real use for. On top of that, the rice was an odd mixture of some parts uncooked and some parts overcooked. Not sure how they managed that. The peach cobbler used canned peaches, which was kind of a disappointment — although not entirely surprising, as a lot of Southern cooking uses canned ingredients in my experience. It still made the whole thing pretty mediocre. I am really not trying to bash on these people or their business. I am normally a strong supporter of independent, family-owned start-ups. I so wanted this to be a great experience that I could rave about to friends and coworkers. But it was such a letdown. P. S. I would be interested to know if anyone else has been charged $ 16 per item or if they just saw us as a couple of schmucks that they could screw over.

We picked up two dinner orders of jambalaya to go, it was exceptional. Chef Anthony adds his soul to every dish. This may be my new favorite place to eat.

Tried this place out today. The food was great! Had the jambalaya which was very flavorful, and the shrimp po’boy was fantastic. While the food was great, the service good, and the restaurant was quaint and clean there were a few annoying things about the place. The menu was limited, they only had ranch dressing for the salad(which when they brought it did not seem like any ranch dressing I had ever seen), the hours were only from 12 – 5 on a weekend, and they do not accept credit cards. I wanted to give it a higher score because the food was very good, but those things definitely marred my opinion of the place. The lettuce in the salad was fresh and good none of that cheap iceberg, and the fries were fresh and salty. Just the way I like them! I was a little disappointed to find out that they did not serve bignettes, but the woman I think may have been the owner stopped by the table to offer us some red velvet cake she had just made that morning. She reassured us that they are going to start opening for dinner hours, and having a Sunday brunch with bignettes soon. The waitress was very sweet and also told is that they will be accepting credit cards soon. They still have some kinks to work out, but I may need to change my rating to five stars when they do. They also said they might be selling some bignettes at the farmers market on the boulevard soon. I will definitely be on the look out for that because the food was fabulous!

stopped by this place because it said cajun :] something new to try. turns out the restaurant just opened last week. we ordered: +jambalaya lunch size $ 9.95 — 3 stars it was well seasoned and cooked. but both of us didn’t think it was amazing. +cajun chicken salad $ 9.95 — 3 stars came with mango salsa, which was pretty good. the cajun chicken was well seasoned but the meat itself didn’t seem that special. the portion seemed small for the price. +sweet tea $ 1.95 — 4 stars if you like sweetened tea, def get this! yuuum all lunch menu items cept for the salad comes with a side salad. be patient with the server as the one we had kept getting our salad dressing wrong even though we both ordered the same dressing… overall I’d probably come back again. everyone was very nice. i give these ratings because i haven’t had many cajun food to compare with and I felt it was on the pricier side for the portion and taste. This is my review and I hope you try out Brittany’s to see for yourself. :) TIPS: –only two types of salad dressing(ranch or house dressing kinda like thousand island-super mayo-ey) –sweet tea –didn’t get to try their dessert but their peach cobbler the other table ordered looked legit
