I emailed Brough Maintenance detailing a kitchen renovation I was looking to complete. I included all details and even the budget I had to work with. Based on the stated details and budget, Lance responded and we scheduled an on-site estimate. He was very nice, looked at my small 10×13 kitchen and listened to all my «dream» list ideas. But I did let him know I was flexible in any areas necessary to make my kitchen renovation possible. Main items needed: new cabinets, slight change in layout, flooring, and opening one wall. No appliances necessary as I already had new one’s. This was on a Wednesday. I emailed him on a Friday hoping to get my estimate Tuesday of the next week, giving 3 business day’s minus the weekend and holiday. He never responded. I then called him come Tuesday, but he seemed inconvenienced by my request stating he was working on other projects, was too tired when he got home and hadn’t had the time to work on my estimate yet. He also seemed irritated I let him know I had already received estimates from other local contractors, and asked if I still even wanted one from him? I let him know as with any big ticket project it’s important to get at least three estimates, so yes, I still would like him to provide me with his. His overall attitude and lack of interest made me feel very uncomfortable. He did provide me with an estimate two day’s later, on Thursday. But the estimate was not only slightly over the budget he was aware of, it was INCREASINGLY higher then all the three estimates I had already received from other local contractors. I thanked him for his time and opted to go else where for my kitchen renovation project. I can only state my experience and although this company may provide great affordable work for other projects, by the quote I received, a minimal kitchen renovation is priced much higher than other local contractors. I know other customer’s may have had a better fit to this company and had a more positive experience, but I was not one of them.
