Best Reuben sandwich I’ve had in years! Great atmosphere, fantastic service and a playlist of rock and roll – 70s to present – that’s a perfect accompaniment to the menu, which offers a wealth of gluten free options. My new favorite restaurant in Lancaster!

Hostess was in a bad mood and didn’t bother to give my friend and I a menu. I had placed our names on list for a booth explaining I had back problem but gave our booth away. We had to sit at the bar and our food was not appetizing. I gave the owner a chance to show their good side by possibly offering a free drink if we came back but she offered nothing. I know where I can get an excellent meal and friendly service in Lancaster but not at this joint where the customer is last and bottom line is tops. Zero stars for Miss L. and her hole in the wall if I could eliminate that last star.

This is the best place I have eaten in Lancaster. I have ordered the Chicken and Waffles twice now and both times they have been consistently some of the best I’ve had. This spot is not overly priced and the sizes of the meals are great.

One night in Lancaster; only one chance to dine out. We chose Cherry St. Pub and, after dining there this evening, we can honestly say we made the right choice. I had the«Big Lojeski»(kielbasa, pierogis and kraut with carmelized onions: see photo) with a locally brewed cream ale. My wife had the pecan-crusted chicken salad with blue cheese, cranberries, mandarin oranges and glazed pecans. We enjoyed our meals immensely and appreciated the attentive and friendly wait staff. You will not go wrong choosing to dine here.

Oh how the times are a-changin’ in Lancaster. Growing up going to Snead’s and Bib’s, I never would have guessed it would turn into the fancy pants Cherry Street Pub. I am not complaining! I love to see these places come to my childhood home. Ohio and Lancaster stuff all over the walls, including homage to their previous restaurant heritage. I feel like I am in the Short North Columbus. I like it. Servers are super nice and helpful. They have a big menu with some standard fare and some specialties. I got the squealer sandwich which was something special. Great flavor on all the layers of the pork upon pork upon pork. 10 years ago, I never would have imagined ordering a sandwich in Lancaster that has pork belly on it. The fries were great. The Big Lojeski(kielbasa and pergoies) which I sampled was really good. Kids liked their food too, including our teenage vegetarian. A bit pricey overall but nothing out of the ordinary for a nice restaurant in the city. Hopefully local folks aren’t turned off by it, because you get what you pay for.

Best spot I’ve found in Lancaster. Atmosphere is great, food is good, and alcohol options are plentiful. I had the hot Bloody Mary(yum) and the sunny? Salad, which happily had real mixed greens, and not 100% iceberg lettuce. I’ll be back.

I don’t know how anyone could not like this place. Great food, great drinks, and great service. My family and I had the pub bread as an appetizer and it was delicious. I ordered the pub club which came with a side of fries. The serving sizes are pretty large and I couldn’t finish off my fries. My dad had the traditional burger with beans and said his was fantastic. My mom had a red sangria and dad had the Cherry St Cream Ale and they were amazing to say the least! I had a strawberry mojito which I wasn’t the biggest fan of but still, everything else was sooo good. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Loved the quaint and unique atmosphere too. We will definitely be back at this place!

I spent some of the best years of my life as a student at Ohio University. Part of that experience was driving from northeast Ohio to Athens several times a year, which inevitably took me past the quaint burg of Lancaster. I never bothered to stop, though. Too bad, really. I might have made it into Cherry Street Pub a decade ago(if they were around back then that is). On a recent jaunt to the Hocking Hills, the wife and I, as our modus operandi would dictate, consulted Unilocal for local dining suggestions. Right away, we noticed the Cherry Street Pub’s stellar reputation. 33 reviews? 4.5 stars? The menu was a great read, nice pics, good selection. Oh yeah, it was gonna happen. Our particular visit was during the week for a late lunch. This made it no surprise that the place was practically empty. The vibe is a bit of a mashup between Elks Club and corner bar. Red vinyl-covered bar stools, super-cool antique bar, wood paneling a la Grandpa’s basement, kitschy wall décor. I was digging it. If I lived closer — much, much closer — my ass would be in one of those stools regularly. The menu. Damn. The menu for this place is extensive. Here’s just a few of the items you’ll encounter — calamari, pork belly, burgers(of course), flatbreads, shrimp & grits, fried bologna sandwich, reuben, specialty mac and cheese, salads — it’s pretty impressive. If you can’t find something that you’ll eat off of this menu, you’re just a horrible person. I wanted to try at least half a dozen things myself. My belly was empty and my hopes were high. I’ll quickly hit on the beer, because my inner beer geek compels me. They’ve got a pretty robust bottled beer list, most of which reads like my old college dorm room refrigerator(if you dig hard enough, you can spot a few gems) but their draught menu is where you should light. 10 taps with great mixed company. I recommend their house beer, a delectable brew made by Columbus brewery North High Brewing, that’s called Cherry Street Cream Ale. I’m not a huge fan of fruity beers but this was light and refreshing without being too watered down. Good for day drinking. I have to admit, there was a single menu item that was stalking, ogling it from across the room, occasionally making eye contact with it. I knew it would be mind. Chicken and waffles. OMG Pecan Chicken & Waffles, to be more precise. Please allow me to give you a food boner. Chicken and waffles, even when half-assed, can manage to turn out pretty well. I mean, what’s better than basically combining dessert and dinner on one plate? Here’s where Cherry Street will change the way you judge this comfort food staple for the rest of your life. It’s not just a waffle, it’s a perfectly crispy, golden, soft on the inside, slightly sour, a touch sweet, pecan buttermilk waffle. Then comes the chicken. The chicken alone, coated in crunchy pecans and fried to perfection, was perfectly seasoned, ridiculously moist and juicy and better than fried chicken has a right to be. It keeps getting better. On top of the amazing chicken and the Belgian waffle so good you wanna smack it, they add in a huge dollop of honey pecan butter and then drizzle the whole thing with a blend of hot sauce and maple syrup. Get the chicken and waffles. There are things in life that you shouldn’t question. This is one of them. While I was busy making love to my chicken and waffles, my wife had ordered the Pub Club with a side of fresh-made potato salad. I won’t compare it to the chicken and waffles. It just wouldn’t be fair, but what I can say is that they even managed to elevate the pedestrian ham, turkey, bacon and American cheese classic with a touch of Earthy herbal mayo and 9-grain bread. The potato salad was creamy and delicious. It reminded me of family picnics. A tasty sandwich indeed. A few notes on our service. Prompt, courteous, friendly, hospitable. If there’s one thing that southern Ohio hasn’t lost it’s the simple things like this. Driving from Cleveland you can just feel the courtesy levels increasing the closer you get to Athens. That’s about it. Cherry Street Pub is clearly a local favorite and it probably draws just as many folks from up Columbus way. That being said, I didn’t feel like an outsider at all. If you find yourself in the vicinity, you’ve gotta get(chicken and waffles) your butt into one of the(chicken and waffles) seats at this place. I’d say that even if you’re not in the area you(chicken and waffles) owe it to yourself to get there anyway. Chicken and waffles.

Admittedly, we may have overlooked this gem if it weren’t for Justin A’s review(dated 8÷21÷15… look it up!). We even looked for him, knowing he may be there on a Friday night. LOL We even hollered«Russ!!» from our table, hoping to get the attention of the correct male bartender… there were three behind the bar that night. Although sad we didn’t meet Justin or Russ, we still had a fantastic experience and would recommend CSP over and over again. First we arrived with a party of six, and seeing how busy they were, we fully expected a long wait… but we were seated instantly… at a table with a bear carcass hanging overhead(we swear he was watching us!). None of us had tried turtle soup before, so we ordered a bowl to share… de-freakin’-licious! We had no frame of reference, so we can’t compare to other turtle soups, but theirs was amazing… admittedly we had a bit of post-turtle-soup guilt(RIP Franklin). Then among us, we ordered an assortment of entrees and shared… the big winner at the table was the Shrimp & Grits. Holy mama! I make S&G all the time at home, but never like this! We also had the Big Lojeski… really tasty, but a bit heavy on the mustard so we scraped about half of it off, and this was a heavy meal — my husband and I could easily have shared it between the two of us. Another item ordered was the Blackened-Chicken Mac n’ Cheese, simply because Justin A. recommended it, and we have to say this was the most disappointing in the bunch. There was maybe a ¼ of a chicken breast on top, and it wasn’t blackened, and the mac n’ cheese was really bland — even though there were six of us, we didn’t finish this dish. And the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad got a big thumbs up, although we’d put this one in third place after the S&G and BL. For the area, we were OK with the craft beer selection, but being from out of town, we were really hoping for local choices to sample. Everything on tap would have been available pretty much anywhere craft beer is served in the Midwest. Good selection, but didn’t bowl us over. Our service was out of this world! And I feel awful that I can’t recall our server’s name because she was a lot of fun and really did a great job. The atmosphere was energetic and fun, without being TOO loud(we could chat easily without having to yell over the music or crowd noise). So thanks to Cherry Street Pub for being awesome. And thanks to Justin A. for your oh-so-convincing review that brought us here in the first place!

Sometimes in your life you have to make decisions, like do I wear pants today? Do I maple syrup on my waffles? Do I eat the most amazing meal of my entire life??? Well put those pants on toss that crap waffle you made in the trash and get to Cherry street! As soon as you walk in you feel like a symphony sounds, the awesome hostess will take you to the worlds most comfortable tables of the 100 year old bar which I’m pretty sure was hand hand crafted by Davy Crocket himself. Then you order a drink from the any one of the awesome bartenders, hope you don’t have a best friend because they just got replaced by Russ(the male bartender). The beer on tap is different almost every week, but when it gets replaced they put something twice as sexy as the last. After you drink away your personal issues from home. Get that manly menu, made of LEATHER and AMERICANDREAMS! Close your eyes and point to anything, it will be the best food you’ve ever had. Stephanie who wrote the two star review is a loon, this place is a 20 star minimum. Don’t waist your money on fast food, invest that money in blackened chicken mac and cheese, I would take a bath in that amazing, cheesy, food porn. I come to this place every Friday, it’s like a second home, thank you Cherry St for giving me something to believe in.

Great service, good food, cool atmosphere. We stopped here after a day of zip lining. We were actually in the parking lot of another place and saw the pictures of the food here. My husband immediately backed out and headed over. LOL Our server was friendly and quick. Our food only took ten minutes and was supper yummy. I could have done without the sweet bbq sauce on my grits, but that is just my opinion. The sausage and pierogi was delish!

I’m super impressed. Super, super impressed with this bar and grill! This place, from what I saw, has so much going for it. I wanted to try a new place tonite, so I pulled out the trusty Unilocal app. After a few minutes of searching, this place came up. Hmmm… It has great reviews, so what the heck. A large public parking lot across the street, so no need to feed the meter ***jazz hands***!! When we got there, it was pretty full with patrons. Nice, bright lighting(as opposed to many of the dark pubs around town). Lots of paraphernalia decorates the walls. The bar is original, from the first establishment here, In the 1930s. 100% character, folks. Put our name on the list, and the wait wasn’t more than 10 minutes. Miranda, our waitress, was friendly, answered all our questions, even gave us some suggestions from the menu. She had a great personally, very easy to chat with. The leather covered menus are a great touch. After sifting thru the pages, I zoned in I the BABB Burger. Bison, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, blue cheese, and A1 sauce. I got a side of mayo(it comes with mustard, of which I don’t like) but the big chucks of cheese, mixed with the sweetness from the onions, shoot, I didn’t even use the mayo. Powerful flavor explosion! Could taste all the components. The fries where also super done. Light crisp. Soft and hot. Everything’s made fresh. I especially like how all sandwich entrees are served on a metal tray — brings back those elementary school lunch memories!

My friend and I just decided to finally try this last week. We had been hearing good things about it since it has opened. We stopped by on a cold weekday rainy afternoon for lunch. We were immediately impressed by the heated mat on the handicap accessible ramp that leads to the entrance. I don’t think I would have noticed except for the steam rising off the mat in the cold rain. We were greeted by a hostess and seated immediately upon entering. She situated us in a booth with beaded curtains pulled back and soft lighting. It was very cozy and comfortable and I felt like I never wanted to leave even before I had tasted the food! We had a good view of the bar area and several other patrons sat talking quietly and enjoying their food & beverages. Our waitress took our drink order and I had a local Buckeye Lake draft. My friend just ordered a boring glass of sweet tea. Probably because she was hungover, we had been out late the night before. Lol.(She’s a lightweight, I need to take her out more often). It took us a long time to decide what to have because everything on the menu looks amazing! I wanted to order one of everything. I’m one of those people that like to try new foods. And they had plenty of interesting choices. I had a steak salad and my friend had the chicken salad. I wish I had taken pictures of the food because it was presented so appealingly. I had never had a salad with french fries on it before but it was delicious! My friends chicken salad was equally tasty. I can’t wait to go back and try more things on the menu, particularly the flatbread. So if you are looking for a place with great atmosphere, friendly service and awesome food this is the place for you.

WOW I’m a raving fan for so many reasons. It’s so nice to see such a gem locally. We walked in and were greeted so genuinely warm and friendly. The place itself was redone immaculately! The décor was perfectly old pub style the only give away that it hasn’t been there for 50 years is that the place is so spectacularly clean. A great mix of traditional«pub» décor and kitch I felt like relaxing and having fun from the first moments in the door. Now the food!!! Twisted Calamari for appetizer was a resoundingly good choice. Perfectly fried calamari with a delicious Thai peanut sauce with a devilish touch of heat. Loved it!!! I opted for the dish that had sausage and perogies since I’m a south side Pittsburgh Polish boy at heart. I’m not even deducting points because the perogie were not homemade. The sauerkraut and caramelized onions were flawlessly done and the brand of sausage was also superb. I talked the the owner who was actually walking through the restaurant and greeting and talking to everyone obviously taking great pride in her baby. I told her the only thing missing was the mashed potatoes on the plate. I know carbs served with a side of carbs it’s a Polish thing you just have to roll with it. I promise it’s worth it! Then there was the chicken and waffles! Now anyone from the south will tell you this is a dish that defines a southern cook almost as much as her grits and greens do. The chicken first lured you in with it’s seductive appearance. If you can believe it the chicken actually beguiled you! You knew it was delicious just by looking at it and it didn’t disappoint! The waffle it was served on was perfectly done. Just crispy enough to stand up to the chicken perched atop it but tender inside. Of course real maple syrup and a very generous knob of a honey butter perched atop the dish. I’m sure someone’s southern grandma is being rebuked for divulging the secret family recipe!!! Although I was way too stuffed to attempt a dessert I was tempted with a float that had Jack Daniel’s ice cream!!! Note to self gotta save room for that on a recent visit. Now I haven’t tried it but the menu has some epic looking mac n cheese dishes. I’m pretty certain I will be having a date with one of those soon. So to sum it all up epic food served in a friendly pub with lots of eye candy to occupy your brain and it’s served up by super friendly folks in an atmosphere that is infectiously friendly and fun. GONOW! Seriously stop what you’re doing and GO!!!
