Overpriced. Food is very«fru fru». Lacks depth and flavor. Portions are very small for what you pay. Flavor combinations are not entirely well thought out.

We went here for breakfast while waiting for our jeep to get an oil change! We definitely like it here and have returned more than once. Hipster Santa was playing holiday tunes, which was a nice touch while we ate our breakfast. Visit during the holiday season and experience this :) Today I got the mintacinno made with skim milk. Espresso, hot cocoa, and mint nibs from Miesse candies. So yummy! My fiancé‘ ordered the lavender white hot chocolate. He really enjoyed it, though he picked the piece of lavender off the top. He said it was rich and so frothy! Mine was also delicious! The temperature was perfect and the chocolate taste was undeniably great. It took us awhile to get our drinks after we ordered them and mine came out first then my fiancé‘s came out… so that was kind of frustrating, but the taste was worth the wait. I ordered the meadow sandwich for breakfast-egg, goat cheese, arugula, lemon oil, avocado, and wheat bread with a side of the roasted potatoes with onions. So delicious! The goat cheese is a perfect compliment to the rest of the ingredients. The potatoes were so yummy! Great take on home fries. My fiancé‘ ordered the the biscuit sandwich with ham, egg, and pepper jack cheese. The biscuit was so flaky and the perfect consistency. I love biscuits and would eat this the next time we return. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The food is fresh and local, which we love. We definitely recommend this place.

You won’t find a more charming space in Lanc city. Whoever was in charge of aesthetics deserves a prize. Chairs in the style of Verner Panton’s most well known model, a bookshelf containing works of Alice Waters, Mollie Katzen and the like, and other nice details in a bright and airy space makes it a nice spot to be in. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming and they forgot some items in my breakfast. The waitress was incredibly apologetic and she and staff did what they could to try to make up for it. I was pleased by how they handled the situation and would be happy to give them another chance.

Best café in Lancaster! The Big ol’ breakfast sandwich is basically the greatest thing ever and their hot cocoa is da bomb.

The baked oatmeal is wonderfully sweet and flavorful. The addition of steamed milk in its own container is great since it let’s you decide how wet you want it to be. I loved the bananna nutella waffles! It’s sweet but not too sweet, the perfect breakfast to wake up and start your day to :) It is kinda weird that they don’t have plain bagels, but the whole wheat ones are rather good.

Had lunch there today, Turkey and goat cheese with arugula and fig jelly. Sandwiches were creative and nicely prepared. Bright, sunny location with a solid lunch and breakfast menu. I am a fan.

The food quality here is on point. A very laid back restaurant where you can eat and talk for hours or read a book. The stuffed french toast had bananas and chocolate which was a great combo. Bacon here is a must try. The only issue here is it gets smokey in there. Better ventilation is needed or an open door.

My boyfriend and I gave this place several chances, but unfortunately we didn’t have good experiences here so we won’t be going back. This last time was our third time, and it was a disaster. It took forever just to get drinks, then no one checked on us for a while afterwards. We finally got to put in our food order, but after one whole hour of waiting and not being acknowledged by any of the staff, we finally asked if our food order had been forgotten. They never put it in, so they said ours would be next. After another 20 minutes, we were ready to leave when our food finally got there. You could tell it was rushed. Our side of bacon was shredded. It was a pile of bacon shreds. Again, no one asked how our food was. We finally had to get someone’s attention to ask for the bill. By the way, they weren’t even busy. There was a group of them talking in the kitchen right in front of us. There were 2 parties of four that came after us, got their food and were paying their bills while we were waiting to be acknowledged and get our food. After all of this, we were still trying to be polite. But they didn’t apologize or offer any kind of discount or comp for our troubles. We were so disappointed. We aren’t picky people and are very patient and open-minded. But this place treated us like we were completely invisible and unappreciated. We will not be going back.

Super cool venue, great staff, and outstanding food. The location and setting cannot be beat: downtown Lancaster, 300 block of N. Queen. If I had to critique one thing, it would be that I don’t make it here nearly as often as I ought to, because it’s totally worth it, in every regard.

I’m very picky about breakfast places. I decided to check this place out on a whim while staying with a friend in the city. The coffee is fantastic. Not too strong, not too bland. It doesn’t have that burnt taste that a lot of café places have. There are various beverage options on the menu, or you can pour your own black coffee. Their breakfast sandwiches were delicious. I had ‘The big ol’ breakfast sandwhich’ which was avocado, an egg, cheese, roasted red peppers and bacon in a brioche bun. Amazing. My friend had ‘The Meadow Sandwich’ which was egg, goat cheese, seasonal greens, avocado, tomato, and lemon oil on wheat. Another delicious option PACKED with flavor. All in all, if you’re considering this place for breakfast I heartily recommend!

I was looking for coffee and this place appeared to have coffee. I ordered the iced«local mochal». What I got was extra-small(similar size to a Starbucks«short») had no ice, seemed to have no espresso, and all of the chocolate was at the bottom, not mixed. I asked how much espresso was in the drink and they said 2 shots. If that’s true then they clearly don’t know how to make espresso. I paid $ 4.51 for that.

I was in Lancaster a while ago and wandered into Commonwealth on Queen. I loved the food and the space was charming. The restaurant has an intimate urban vibe. I spoke with owners and really liked them and their love for Lancaster and commitment to the farm to table movement. So, when it was time for my partner and I to plan our wedding we thought of Commonwealth on Queen. It was a small wedding — 63 guests The owners turned the space from a café to a perfect wedding venue(including a dance floor). And the food!!! It is probably only a bit of an exaggeration to say more people talked about how great the food was than the wedding itself. Really. The food was fabulous. The staff was superb. We were thrilled with Commonwealth on Queen. Imagine how much you will enjoy it if you just go for breakfast or lunch.

I was pleased to see matcha tea and gluten free options here and my tea and toast were both delicious. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews ahead of time to know to stay away from the frittata — mine was rubbery and tasteless. Def did not seem very fresh. Sausage was boring too. Also the potato hash was undercooked — who likes to eat hard potatoes? I am hoping this was just a bad day so I gave a generous 3 stars and maybe I will try again another time and order something different. Also because the service was really friendly and helpful:) — they redid the potatoes without complaint and found us some fresh fruit even though it’s not on the menu(though it would have been nice if they had not charged for it, given the problem with the potatoes)

Been here a couple of times. The Mochal-Local or whatever it’s called is SOGOOD which is basically why I always come back. The food is decent, nothing to go out of my way for. It’s served on thick plastic plates with scratched up silverware. For the quality of the food the prices are too much, but overall it’s not an expensive place. The atmosphere is very open, lots of light gets inside. The chairs are ‘modern ikea style’ and not the most comfortable. Basically the tables and chairs are furnished from Ikea. It’s a bit cold in the winter, and the place doesn’t give a comfy coffee shop vibe to me at all. Service is good. Overall it’s a meh place. There are better in the area or in your house, but this will suffice.

Very disappointed. Came in for brunch and got a an egg sandwhich. Was not expecting the egg patty. For a resturant that boasts farm to table I would have a loved a real egg for breakfast. The environment was ok and the service fine but won’t be back for breakfast

Really cool place! We’ve been here for a dinner that was catered by Catering by Christina, which was fantastic. We’ve also done breakfast which was very good as well. Fresh ingredients, healthy wholesome food. Beautifully decorated. Service can be a little on the slower side but nothing excessive. Coffee selection is always interesting and I like that they have Rijuice here too! Also this is the only breakfast place I’ve found downtown that will make me a bagel with lox… So tasty!

Lovely atmosphere and good food. $ 8 for lox on bagel. $ 1.85 for bottomless drip coffee. I’ll be coming back.
