We ate here for the first time the other day while in the area. The 50s décor is really nice. The food is good. The service was good too. It was really touching that the menu told the story about the challenges they had in construction(and getting started) and how they trusted God. They mentioned the 4 ton boulder that was in the way and how it was put out back as a reminder and prayer perch. I went out on the rock afterwards and prayed with my wife for a friend who was in an accident and for the faith of our grandchildren. I’ll attach a photo.

My wife, soon, and I were visiting from out of town and this place was great! Service was excellent. My wife and I split a burger and we got the loaded fries. Both were excellent. Also, we both got a chocolate peanut butter milkshake, and that was fantastic, as well. Our son had the chicken fingers and they were good too. We’ll definitely be back, when we are in the area again. Definitely check this place out!

This place was pretty cool! Appeared to be a small operation, but the staff had a good handle on things. DJ’s was decorated like a typical 50’s nostalgic diner, complete with stainless steel walls, neon light accents, and tons of 50’s nick nacks all around. There were a few tables inside and a counter towards the back for seating. There were also a few tables outside on the patio to enjoy during warmer weather. We were there for breakfast so that is what I will review: we ordered the eggs over with tater tots and toast; and the Country breakfast(scrambled eggs cooked with hash browns and toast on the side). The food was delicious! The eggs were cooked as ordered and the tator tots were standard tots. I have never had eggs and hash browns cooked together before but it was great! When we first walked in about 9:30am, it seemed like the ladies here were still trying to organize themselves, but 5 minutes later, they were in full swing and ready to roll. We found them to be very nice and friendly. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here and will be back again if we are in the area. I would definitely choose this place over ihop!!!

I really wanted to give this a 3 ½. I rounded up because of the service. We went there with another family so we were a fairly large party. We got there on a Saturday shortly before they closed but they were very happy to seat us. Our waitress was extremely friendly and good with the kids. The food wasn’t bad. Especially considering how reasonable the prices are. The diner is very small with a 50’s décor, but it doesn’t really give you a 50’s vibe. Could probably work on the execution a little bit. If you’re looking for OK food for a good price with fun décor and friendly service, then this is a good place to go. Just don’t expect to be transported back to the 50’s.

Really good cheeseburgers. A little pricey, but a fun atmosphere. Lancaster needs more of these types of restaurants.

I get out to Lancaster area at least once a year and have always wanted to try this place. For one reason or another it would be closed on the days I tried. Wish it had stayed that way and I had never gone in. The place had some 50s themed things, but was not set up really like a 50s diner. It seemed like when we first walked in they did not even want to be bothered seating us. Finally after we got our drinks and waited the waitress finally took our order. I know they were busy, but that was no excuse for how long we waited to our breakfast. I never waited for any type meal so long. Finally when I was just about to give up our order came out. My over easy eggs were totally over done. I called my waitress over when I could finally get her attention, and remember this is a very small place. I told her the problem and told her to take the eggs back and to just take the price of the eggs off my bill. She start arguing with me on how she would go get me fresh eggs. First of all I never trust meals that are sent back out and I was not going to wait over another half hour or hour to get two eggs. So again I said just take the price of the eggs off. So without a word she took the eggs and left. A few minutes later the cook came out and apologized and said he would take my meal off the bill. Even though he did that I still would not go back, especially with all the dirty looks I kept getting from my waitress. I am afraid even if I did go back to give it another try it there was even a chance she recognized me she would probably spit in my food with the death stares I was getting from her. She should not complain since my daughter still left her a nice tip.

The real 50s attitude. The waiters really made the atmosphere a family friendly place. The burger was very good and reminded me of the 50s. The Blt seemed appetizing but overrated. The chicken Caesar wrap was really what made it a four star place. I would go to this place again. Overall this place had the attire of the 50s but a heart of gold.

We walked out of this place, they handed us the breakfast menu, good! By the time waitress to greet us as she handed us a lunch menu then informed us breakfast was over… We waited 15 minutes for her to come to our table. T

Complete tourist trap, not recommended, the music outside is too loud and it is silent with no music and inside. Very limited seating and they ignored us when we walked in for a few minutes then when we were greeted they asked us to stand outside in 90deg weather for them to clear a table. Diner décor but not a diner layout. Nope never again.

On a family trip to Lancaster, we came across this establishment while looking for local restaurants to dine at. The décor is straight out of the 50’s, as you would expect by the name. The servers also dress the part. Of course at a 50’s themed burger place, you have to get the burger. I don’t live too dangerously, so I got a cheeseburger with just ketchup. It was quite good. My wife ordered the cheeseburger club, which she was a fan of. My 3 year old ordered the grilled cheese and it came in a car as the plate. She enjoyed her food and her car plate as well. If I’m in the Lancaster area, I will definitely be stopping here again. The food was good, the atmosphere is fun, and it is very child friendly.

We live in Lancaster and will never go back to this restaurant. It’s definitely a tourist trap. The concept is good, but the execution isn’t great. The restaurant looks nice and inviting at first. However, it’s small, boxes were laying in front of the counters, and it was too quiet — you could barely hear the music over the conversations at the tables surrounding you. The food is a bit pricey. Though, I’d be willing to pay these prices if the food was good. The menu states clearly that you can only get one refill on a soda. Well, we never even got that with our drinks — but that statement doesn’t sit very well with me. You’re going to be cheap on one of the cheapest things in the restaurant. You’re charged 20 cents each for lettuce, tomatoes, and onions if they’re not already on your burger. Now, to the taste of the food. We ordered the loaded cheese fries because they were marked as a signature item. The bacon on top was burnt and we had to scrape it off the fries to make them more edible. While we did eat some of the fries, they were undercooked but the ranch sauce and cheese helped a little. The burgers were very small and bland. We had a few bites hoping the taste would get better, but we couldn’t even eat the burger. The chips were homemade, but they were undercooked in a lot of places and had no seasoning. We left quickly to find another restaurant after not eating much of the food. I was also surprised with how slow the service was considering the limited types of items on the menu and the small restaurant space. I think the only thing keeping this place open is the tourists who don’t know any better. Never again. Don’t waste your time and money here.

The food(burgers and shakes) were solid. The exterior seating was cool. But all was overshadowed by over an hour wait due to order mixups. They were unapologetic about the wait and showed zero hustle after we first questioned why there was a wait.

Probably not the place for you if you are in a hurry! I had the mushroom Swiss burger and it was EXCELLENT! Fries were fresh cut and very good. My husband got club sandwich: «good», and the Mac and cheese: «nothing to write home about». Atmosphere was cool

Cute concept but terrible execution. We visited late on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away. Our first problem was that our waitress wanted nothing to do with us. Took at least 10 minutes for her to come to the table for our orders. When the food finally came it was nothing special. Burger was not cooked properly(ordered medium rare, it was well-done). Fries were good as were the shakes. Once again took forever to get a check and to pay. Overall not worth the money — resist the urge of the cute surroundings.

I found this place thanks to Unilocal, and I decided to go because of the reviews, so here I am writting one. I bought a burger, the menu says they never use frozen pattys, and they right, the burger taste like heaven, with a meat just made it, and the bread too. Amazing. I paid 9 dlls for a burger and fries but it worth it, sure it does!!! This is my new favorite place for burgers. And the restaurant 50’s edition is simply amazing.

What a great place! I was in Lancaster for a sporting event and after going to the standard(obligatory) Pa. Dutch family style places this«find», was truly a gem. The look is a 50’s style driving-in dinner. There was a local auto show underway and many where dressed in 50’s-60 outfits. Whole families in fact. Very cool experiance. Now to the food! We had burgers fries and shakes! What you would expect in this type of place. The shakes were old fashioned and very think, the kind that requires a really fat straw and some supper sucking power, my friends. So don’t say you weren’t warned. =) The burgers were very good, as well as the fries, but it’s really about the atmosphere but the food won’t disappoint. On my list of places to return to when I am in Lancaster! Enjoy!

Ate lunch here on 7-22-2013& am just now getting around to writing a review. It’s a very cute place that I would recommend. We had the Knuckleburger & Chicken Breast Sandwich along with a side of Onion Rings. The restaurant was almost completely empty at the time & our food came out pretty quickly & the service was good. But I was surprised at the prices which were quite high for a place in the middle of nowhere.

What a cute little 50’s inspired diner. We came here for breakfast on Saturday. The prices are very reasonable and everything is house made. They even have some good choices for people who like to eat low fat. I had the hot chocolate, biscuits and gravy and hash browns. We will be back.

If you love the 50s and everything retro, you will love this little gem of a diner in the middle of nowhere. Walking in, you are instantly transported to a decade of poodle skirts, milk shakes and Danny Zuko cool. Everything is authentic here including the food meaning don’t ask for wheat bread or sweet potato fries or anything that doesn’t require a triple bypass for dessert. I had a burger and fries. It tasted like someone just took a handful of ground beef and slapped it on the grill. It was flavorless and didn’t even really taste like beef. I would suggest stopping in for a milkshake but skip the entrees.
