Here’s my 3 star, knowing the old Double D quality. I haven’t been here(bought anything) since they moved because 1, last time I came there were only minis and some cookies and the place did not have room for few people and a stroller, and 2, I’ve heard that their pastry chef has changed. So it’s my first visit(to eat) since they moved and I noticed that they brought back the big and«standard» size cupcakes. Same price. I did notice though that while it appear the same, the standard and the big one is looking smaller than it used to. Not as high on the frosting though, which I don’t mind that. Quality of the cake portion was little dry for my taste. Their cupcake used to be very moist. So I was disappointed with the dryness. Another star off, because smaller size but same price… ehhh, I’m not feeling it. For $ 3.25 on a cupcake I expect slightly bigger size and better cake quality. Like I said, comparing to old double d that I know of… it wasn’t all that great for me.

I don’t like frosting(I know!), but, the cake here is amazing!!! They often have I frosted cupcakes in the back that I can get and they are willing to make a cupcake just for you! If you like the salted caramel frosting, but want it on the chocolate cake — done, just ask! My family are frosting lovers and they said the frosting is good too!

Back again on Thursday, 4 February! Bri was our cashier again(so sweet!) and I got a dozen day-old mini’s for $ 12 — good deal, and trust me, they’re just as delicious! Thanks again!

I came in with my husband today(love this new location) and decided to do the 6 for $ 9 mini cupcake deal. We tried the red velvet, the Elvis, voluptuous vanilla, lemon, and the chocolate. Everyone was super nice and the lady who helped us threw in a couple extra because one of our cupcakes got squished in the box. The cupcakes were dense and moist, and the frosting was perfectly sweet. All of them were tasty. Great to come back to their new location! Our favorite cupcake: The Elvis(love the little hint of banana at the end) followed by the red velvet.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had Double Ds cupcakes but it is the first time at this location. They already had a grandopening at their new location on Lancaster Blvd. I was saddly disappointed to find out they only special order regular sized cupcakes. They only have mini sized ones. I guess it’s fine for trying multiple flavors but I think you lose out when you just want to have more of one type. I tried a random variety of cupcakes and they were hit or miss. I don’t know if it’s the small size, but I think what made some of the cupcakes a disappointment was that they were dry. It was later in the day so maybe the cupcakes dried up a little, but regardless they were not as moist inside. They are also relatively pricy for the amount you get, so it’s kind of a hard sell. I believe 6 mini cupcakes for $ 9. The place feels a little cramped and no seating inside, but staff was friendly though. I would only go back for special occasions but probably not on a regular basis.

The cupcakes were delicious! My husband and I were shopping on the blvd and just had to try double ds. We ordered 5 different flavors and a chocolate covered Oreo. Everything was delicious! The cupcakes were moist and the icing was so good. Plus, the service was great. The girls at the counter were very sweet and helpful. If I had to critique something, I’d mention the lack of seating. The place is so small that they can’t even fit a couple small tables and chairs. You have to get your cupcakes to go instead of enjoying them there after eating dinner on The Blvd.

Walked in, no greeting just awkward looks. The store is small, no interior seating and they only had mini cupcakes. The cupcakes tasted like they were made with box mix and weren’t very flavorful. The packaging smooshed the cupcakes, lame. Disappointed, definitely didn’t meet expectations of a Cupcake Wars winner.

So I was up in Lancaster for a USPS Exam. I had to be at the nearby Airport at 2:30, and I had arrived in the area waaaaaaaay too early. So I decided to cross something off my bookmark list. Something that had taunted and enticed and lured me for several years. As I drove down Lancaster boulevard, I was looking out for the place, in addition to looking for a spot in the middle. I like Lancaster Boulevard. It’s cute. I found a spot not too far away from the place, and walked into the lil adorable store. I was quickly greeted, and welcomed to the establishment. I looked in the case, and saw lots of teeny tiny cupcakes. Not the full sized cupcakes, but lil cupcakes. Maybe they need time to grow up? I dunno. Teeny Tiny cupcakes. $ 1.65 each, 4 for $ 6, and more for more $. I looked into the case, and asked how they were. Girl behind the counter gave me some feedback on her favorites, and the flavors that did really well. I ordered a lil pumpkin cupcake, a lil popcorn cupcake, a lil lemon cupcake and a lil chocolate mint cupcake, and watched as the girl gingerly placed them into a container. I quickly noticed that the container wasn’t tall enough to accommodate the lil cupcakes pretty lil top toppings, and quickly mashed them down flat. Huh. So much for a Unilocal photo of the cupcakes. Maybe next time. I thanked the girl, and paid for the lil cupcakes. I then exited the establishment, and returned to my car. When I ate the cupcakes later on in the evening, while they were quite good, I did end up eating them in two pieces. The lil cupcake part, and then whatever frosting topping they had that had stuck to the top of the container. Now that I’ve been to Lancaster Boulevard, I’ll be back. It’s a neat area that I’d like to explore more. I’d also like to explore more lil cupcakes from Double D Cupcakes. While the cupcakes were both Delicious and Delightful, now that I think about it, I feel a more apt name for the place might be «Double A Cupcakes».

Very happy with our little mini cupcakes! I’m used to the larger ones but I find these actually better! I don’t have to feel as guilty having a giant cupcake! I wish them the best of luck! I’m really happy they reopened after the landlord went to triple their rent! Looking forward to more cupcakes and hopefully my orange creamsicle!

I absolutely love this new idea. Btw everyone… stop being such glutens and enjoy your treats more. I love Love Love the bite size cupcakes. I never finish a whole cupcake to begin with so this is perfect for our family. We luv going in and buying 6 to 12 and just having them at home. We get an urge and just grab one or even two and it satisfies the craving. Too much is not always a good thing. My husband is a diabetic and he loves these because they are a perfect size for him to have a lil treat without a ton of sugar. I think everyone should be seeing the positive aspects of this new concept. Especially those needing to drop a few pounds like me! I get to have my cake and eat it to without all the calories. Not to mention how much lil ones love these minis. I say kudos for a great concept!!!

Have to say, I loved Double D’s at their old location with their double d’s cupcakes. Now, at their new location I have to say pretty disappointed. They only have these small cupcakes, which can be bite size. You have to special order regular size ones. Didn’t have much of a selection and now they charge. 50 per debit/cc transaction. Now to find a new cupcake place, won’t bother going to the blvd just for this. So disappointed.

This used to be our favorite cupcake place… However they suffered, because we stopped eating cupcakes, I never realized we ate that many. They seriously downsized everything from the size of their store to the size of their cupcakes… used to have giant cupcakes, now all they have are miniature cupcakes. frown emoticon. On the bright side they sell macarons, which are my favorite, although if I’m paying for this delicacy, I would hope that they would be better than they were, because there are many places that specialize in macarons.

Today I visited a bakery, Double«D» Cupcakes off Lancaster Blvd. From the view off the Blvd, Can’t miss their sign complimented by the splash of colors they border around their windows. Even having bright neon pink and green patio tables and chairs, since the bakery is so small there are is know where to be seated inside. You will have to eat your sweets outside. They have beautiful glass frosted doors with their logos decal displayed on both. Since they have a large front glass window and doors this small building has a lot of natural lighting. Inside the bakery has an inviting and cheerful vibe. Since their building is still very new in contrast from the bright colors outside, the bakery for the most part is white with a modern look. Once stepping in to the bakery the sweat aromas of vanilla and cakes smell absolutely delicious. The first thing I noticed stepping into the bakery was one of the bakers sectioned off behind a counter and clean glass windows. She was soft patting a somewhat solid piece of batter between her hands. Molding the batter into a ball shape, she was making cake pops. After she was done placing all the balls she had made on a tray she left. The scent of the fresh baked fruity cake pops she had brought back entered the room few seconds before she had even appeared. Placing the fresh baked goodies onto the counter the metal tray being put down on the white tile counter made a slight bang. A few customers looked to see what had happened. Since for the most park the bakery is mostly quiet, the women looked up for a second and smiled just to reassure that nothing had happened. She continued working, picking up the cake batter on a stick then dipping it into a metal can of frosting. Lifting it back out upside down there was a string of frosting leading from the cake pop back into the frosting. I am guessing it was vanilla, looked so good I just wanted to swipe my finger under that sting of frosting and taste it. To the left of the building is the display case with all the different cupcakes, cake pops, and much more small pastries. My initial thought from looking at the cupcakes wasn’t what I had expected. I have never tried their cupcakes before but I was expecting an average to large size cupcake. In reality they were very small portions, the bite size cupcakes. Maybe because they were meant to be ordered in the dozens like donuts. But for a cupcake that small I thought it to be a tad pricey, a dollar ninety-five a cupcake. I got the coconut cream, it smelled absolutely delicious. Biting into it the smooth creamy frosting had a sweet zest mixed with the crunch of the toasted pieces of coconut, over loaded my taste buds in the best kind of way. The cake was very moist and spongy I finished it all within three bites. Overall, Tasted amazing just wish I had more to enjoy.
