It’s now out of business. I went to the effort to re-find information I’d saved and an address I’d set aside for a trip to «Here,» for our 10th anniversary dinner. It was worth it. Housed inside a locally-sourcing grocery, Here, the kitchen at local, is hiding in plain site. A scant two blocks from Central Market and the Convention Center, it’s site just west of Prince St. makes it easy to access if you are on foot or have a nearby favorite parking nook. Park on Water St., or make the left from Water to King, the first spot on the left is nice and often open, so much for my secret. BYOB. The seating area is both open and private, seeming comfortably intimate, while allowing full view of all restaurant and staff activity. Fun. Several entrée selections were intriguing and ultimately we chose the Pork Agro-Dolce(Tender confit cut with fig/? and herb stuffing after being filleted open, then stuffed) and PETA(Perfectly Edible Treatment Anywhere(for vegetables)), the best vegetarian entrée ever, certainly better than the rest in Lancaster. PETA: Sesame with Roasted garlic infused mashed Cici beans, carrots and asparagus flavored with charcuterie spices, an original pesto with several layers of flavor. Pork: Two large rounds topped and filled with yum, potatoes on the side roasted and a special sauce drizzled on the plate/potatoes. Some sweets, sours, fats and savory flavors were masterfully woven into this meal. All scrumptious. Our waitress was maybe a bit new to the job, but quite nice and very helpful nonetheless, catching Chef Anthony’s attention so he could help us make informed selections. Maybe some clips to secure the table covering would be useful. Pouring guests water would be a start, or maybe isn’t to be expected. She did ask if we were enjoying the tastes and whether we needed anything additionally and we were well cared for. Chef Anthony Marini was attentive from the open kitchen and in addition to answering our preparation/menu questions, removed our service when we finished as our waitress didn’t quite catch that. You can check this out: I’m very much looking forward to return visits.
