This store has such an awesome variety of wonderful spices, and hard to find foods! I love their fresh turmeric root, and tamarind sauce. They also have a selection of henna hair dye, which is nice for those wanting to avoid chemical hair dyes. The owners are always really nice, and helpful whenever I go in. The food is also very delicious!

This review is for the prepared food… We just went and got one of everything to try. Wow! Delicious, everything was good. Most of it was spicy hot but I like that. There were a few that were milder, if that’s your preference then simply let the man working the counter. The service was very friendly & thorough. We were told that they have many different things to try each time the food is made fresh and they change their offerings daily. I love when people go to the trouble of making me feel welcome and inviting me back. I will be happy to take him up on the offer, with so many delicious flavors I can’t wait to try more.

You can’t go wrong here. A vegetarians dream! There is a wide variety vegetarian meals! The taste of the good was delicious! The portions are large! Everything is fresh! I purchased Turmeric that was only $ 2.99 for the bag! I take it every day for inflammation! I’m so happy that I finally stopped in to see what is provided! I will be back time and time again! I’m going to be a regular! For sure! Every and anything you can think of from India! If they don’t have it they will order it! It smells so good in the store! They also offer free Chia Tea! The staff is so nice and accommodating! Conveniently located off of the 14 freeway! Please stop by and experience the flavor of India!!! You won’t be disappointed! One of new happy places! Reminds me of the time I lived in India!!!

I recently moved to Palmdale from LA and much to my relief I found India Sweet and Spice at Lancaster. Being someone from the Asian subcontinent, It has almost all of my daily necessities as far as grocery is concerned. A bit pricey but acceptable. The ready made food are great as well. I like their gulabjamun, jilebee, chana batura, potato tikka, samosas… and there are many more that I am willing to try. Quality wise, I am happy. Owner, staff — all very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to all. Oh and ladies don’t forget the grooming parlor tucked away in the corner.

The best Indian food we ever had in California. We have been to lot of Indian restaurants in Artesia but this was the most authentic food I ever had here in US. The food was fresh and great. We tried Thali, Parantha, Punjabi dosa, Lassi etc. All food was exceptionally good. They said that they make their own spices and make everything from scratch. They have combined Indian grocery and restaurant together under one roof. I recommend this to everyone.

Great hidden treasure. Market full authentic produce and spices. I bought curry which really tasted authentic. Also, the have imported soap and other beauty items which is really hard to find other then online. I’m glad I stopped by did not know about this place, glad I did. Before you leave the store I recommend tasting their sweets called Jalebi(spiral shaped sweet) sweet and delicious.

Hunger and boredom had me almost stop at a Green Burrito in Mojave, en route from the Sierra Nevadas to LA. Thankfully, long lines and a glut of deep fried stuff on the menu sent me running. 30 minutes later I’m at India Sweets & Spices in Lancaster. More relaxed vibe than the ones on Venice and Los Feliz boulevards in LA, but same great taste. If you’ve been to either of the former, you know what to do. If not, tell the staff you’re hungry and they’ll hook up a plate of customer favorites. Take the 5 stars in context. This ain’t dinner at Noma. But on a long, lonely highway littered with fast food, it may as well be.

I LOVE to cook foods from around the world and finding ingredients can be tricky. However, with India Sweet and Spice I can find most of the ingredients I need to make foods from a majority of locales that I like. Needless to say, Indian food — no problem with spices here; of course they also have spices to make food from other areas. The deli inside also is wonderful. With both northern and southern Indian menu’s there is always something delicious to be tried. And, if you like sweets, they have so many different varieties to try. For a little trip to India — candles, incense, food, vitamins, clothing — you shouldn’t miss it! Oh, they also do threading! Give it a try.

I just want to eat here everyday! The selection changes everyday. All of the stews are made from scratch and the spices and heat level change too. I know of few Indian restaurants that serve Roti, most places serve Naan, They have so many sweets and snacks! Try everything,

I came here a few months ago and noticed that most of their food and drinks from England was expired. I told the cashier and she said it would be replaced. I recently came back and saw the same products and more English groceries were still expired. This is very typical of these Indian stores which sell groceries from England so be aware. They know very well their products are expired but still try to overcharge their customers into buying them. It’s just a matter of time before somebody gets sick from their molded custard that’s expired over 3 years old and calls the food and health administration and shuts this place down. As for the restaurant I’m assuming the ingredients they use are most likely out of date also. I wouldn’t give this place another penny and I suggest nobody else does either.

So had we found a Moms and Pops Indian joint in the AV. Our closest other favorite place is 70 miles away invite earth of Melrose Ave. All I got to say is hat the food here deserves an A+ Grading. The place is small with 4 tables, and the service Is great. My Fiancé loved this place. We are true Indian food lovers, and all we got to say is that will here 3 times a month. lol

I had some business just down the street and lunch time was rolling around, I had been wanting to try this place and it looked like this would be the day. I sent a text to my friend to see if she wanted to join me, she did so I told her that I would meet her there. I arrived first and took a stroll through the market I headed over to the restaurant to take a look. I have only had Indian food one other time and after taking a look at the menu behind the counter I realized that I had no idea what any of it was, I thought that perhaps my friend would know so I patiently awaited her arrival. After a few more minutes my friend walked in, I pointed to the menu and asked her if she knew what any of it was, unfortunately she did not but fortunately the friendly man behind the counter was happy to answer all of our questions and make suggestions. In the end we pretty much left our fate in the hands of the proprietor, he was going to make us a sampler for us both to share. The food started to arrive and we started sampling. I enjoyed every bit of food that was brought to the table. I also had a mango drink that was excellent and complemented the food very well. If you are an Indian food neophyte like me this is the perfect place to introduce yourself to something new and delicious without feeling self conscious because of your lack of knowledge. To top it off the prices are extremely reasonable.

Decided to cook some more since I haven’t had the best of luck with restaurants out here, so one of my co workers recommended this place. I was in the mood for some chicken tikka masala and needed to pick up some spices, so I visited this store and wow this was amazing. This store is like little India they have everything and even a restaurant in the store . The people working their were really helpful they helped me find everything I was looking for and made some suggestions on how to improve my recipe, I was in heaven. i came in for a few things such as spices, but I ended up buying bread, Indian cookies, lentils and some pre-cooked meals .the goal or my budget was $ 30but I ended up spending well over a 100 wow! While I was their the staff recommended that I try some of their curries and I was a little hesitant based on my luck with food in Lancaster, but since they were super nice I gave it a shot .They had a combo plates so I tried the $ 5 plate and got rice and lentils with their cheese and peas currie along with a puff bread .i wasn’t expecting much but with that first bite I was amazed, the food was tasteful and and not to spicy just rite and the quantity was a lot for $ 5 .I was shocked at how good the food was here and this being my first great experience in Lancaster I was relieved. I will be back and can’t wait to try some of their sweets and other items on the menu. I was told that I can call anytime for help with recipes .On a side note this place also has a salon for eyebrow threading, which does me no good but just thought it deserved a mention.
