I travel all over the this great country of ours. Nothing makes me happier than a unique classic minor league baseball game. I have seen multiple stadiums all over the country, and I love this stadium. It is a Independent League team, but honestly, it’s baseball. Clippers Magazine stadium is a new stadium, with some nice features. What makes a great stadium is if it can make every age group smile. Without a doubt this stadium fits that bill. First for the kids, there are multiple rides and bumper boats in the outfield. For the grown folks there is a awesome beer selection and beer garden. All the staff I talked to were friendly. I would recommend this venue for a great family outing ! ! ! !

Great ballpark! But food service and the LINES are way too long for the prices they charge! Minor league in every way — too bad! Otherwise, it’s a great venue.

So why do you go to baseball games? We all have different reasons. Sometimes it’s the love of the game. Sometimes it’s not that deep and enjoying the excitement seeing any sport live in a stadium filled with fans. Sometimes it’s just an excuse to get out of the house. The Barnstormers are a local, «minor league» team. Minor league in quotes because this team and in fact this league are not attached to any MLB team. And the reason that is important to note is, the raison d’etre for this team is not developing talent for big league teams. The reason this team and league exist is to provide entertainment. So, for the most part, you won’t find it useful to get to know the roster, it changes significantly from season to season. The players are, much like actors, hired to perform a service. The other thing is that games are highly formatted. The structure of which is that baseball play itself, much like music on terrestrial radio, is only something which exists to separate the various promotions for sponsors. And this isn’t an entirely bad thing depending on your reasons for attending. What this structure does is provide continuous entertainment and engagement for fans. It’s geared towards families so it’s designed to keep kids entertained. When you separate the sport from the«game», it’s a pretty impressive machine. These promotions are rapid fire and there isn’t a moment in the game or between innings that has not been sold to one sponsor or another and isn’t filled with a contest or «game» for the fans. Clipper Magazine stadium is beautiful, relatively new park that is well designed and well kept. It’s a pleasant venue. The concessions are good if not priced for what one would expect at a ball park. They offer meal deals where you get food and admission. So how you feel about the Barnstormers really comes down a few things. Are you a baseball fan? Do you want to build a relationship with a team and with players from season to season? Or, are you just looking for something fun to do on an afternoon or an evening? Is the baseball play itself the key thing or are you just looking for a nice venue for a family outing? Depending on how you answer these questions will, I think, to a great extent, depend on how you would rate the Lancaster Barnstormers.
