This is a dive. Do not go in here expecting it to be anything more than what it is. They have the best wings in Lancaster though. Big yet very crispy mmmm.

Nope. So much nope. If you do find yourself here, don’t get the wings. A good dive is a good dive, but this is diving in the shallow end.

Total dive, perfect in every way. I’ve never been to the bar side, but the restaurant is super cozy if not fancy, and the food is fantastic for the price. My husband loves the wings, I usually order corned beef or fish and chips. Seems like a nice warm place to get a drink on a fall evening.

I love it here. The service is fantastic in the restaurant area. I love the atmosphere and the food has never ever disappointed us. We love this place more than anywhere we could possible go in the city. We drive 20 miles from our home just to eat here because it is absolutely the best!!! ;)

This review pertains to the bar, not the restaurant. Both are served by the same kitchen but the restaurant and the bar are separate rooms. I used to love O’Halloran’s. Used to. It was a once a week ritual. Was. What is O’Halloran’s? It’s a neighborhood dive bar. And I mean that in the best and worst ways. If you smoke, you can smoke inside. If you do not smoke, pass on O’Halloran’s. It’s smokey from a smoker’s perspective. Dive, well, it’s a local bar for the neighborhood folks most of whom are not upscale hipsters or aging college graduated boomers. That’s a good thing. The downside, you’ll likely be sitting next to someone who is or will soon be, very drunk. Way more drunk than they should be. If you’re loaded too, awesome. If you’re just there to have some food and a drink or two with a friend, it can obnoxious. So, why do I not go there any more? After being a faithful patron for a year or so I heard, through a friend, that the manager has threatened and insulted me. Some bizarre perceived slight and rage monster manager feels it’s cool to pass along threats, through my friends, towards me. Unprofessional? Of course. A bit unhinged from reality? Uncomfortably so. A good thing about O’Halloran’s. The bartenders are all pretty damn nice. They’re fun. The food is dirt cheap and usually way better than it should be. The drinks are cheap as well. It could be an awesome place to hang out. But it’s not. I really liked O’Halloran’s. It was unpretentious, a good value and authentic Lancaster you wouldn’t find on the cheesy tourist web sites. Now, given the tenor of the manager, I just stay away. Will this happen to you if you visit? Here’s the thing, it might. There’s a weird and unpleasant undercurrent to the place and, for me at least, I’ll avoid it in the future.

Yes, It’s a dive. Yes, there is smoking inside. Yes, the clientele isn’t the most clean cut. But those are things I don’t care about when I visit an establishment. I want friendly service, good food, and decent priced drinks. I get all of that at O’Hallorans. There isn’t many dive bars in Lancaster that deliver on all the good things of a dive bar on a consistent basis. The food is really good and some of the best wings in the city. The drafts are always under $ 2 for a special and there is a juke box ! Did you leave your house or pretentious shithole bar yet? Because you should. If you want $ 6 beers, shittastic overpriced food the 551 is down the street and the owner and chef will hit on you. Trust me, go to O’Hallorans.

I’ve read some of the snotty reviews of this place and laughed. Those types of people will not be found here, which is one of the reasons for a four star rating. It’s a neighborhood bar people, if you feel like you’ll get beat up there then you are probably a tool. This place has some of the best bar food. With a big menu, nothing ever tastes frozen. The boneless chicken wings are great, tons of flavors to choose from and they are cheap. This is what we want in a neighborhood bar. Good cheap food, NOPRETENTIOUSJERKS, the bar allows smoking and you can order food at the bar(restaurant is no smoking), friendly staff and long hours. The Shepherd’s Pie and daily desserts are unusually good, even for an Irish Pub. You can feel comfortable bringing a family to the restaurant side, it’s completely separate from the bar. Even on weeknights the bar side is pretty active with a big variety of people. Everyone(unless you are the special kind of person that thinks when you visit an urban bar you’ll get your car broken into) can fit in here. I live a block from this bar and one, I have never got my car broken into, two, I have never been beat up. The only odd thing is that they don’t take credit cards but they do have an ATM in the bar.

The wings are excellent. Probably the best I’ve had in a very long time. I highly recommend asking for the Charley sauce. I also recommend going during the day or during the week. Parking is tough at night on the weekends.

Cheap drinks, cheap food, and it tastes like it. If all you care about is getting hammered, and having some munchies, this is the place for you. Good chance you’ll either get into a fight, or have your car broken into, or both. Plus very heavy smoking, somehow they get around the ban. Smelly, dirty, slimy, a real dump.

The wings were excellent! I had bbq/hot wings and the spice grew as I worked my way through –perfect. No fake smoke flavoring in the sauce. The wings were meaty and crisp on the outside, just right. My friend had garlic and parmesan wings which were outstanding — the garlic tasted like fine garlic butter with none of the chemically aftertaste associated with pre-chopped, jarred garlic. The price was fine. I plan on heading back on a Tuesday for wing and beer special. The bar was very smokey, which I didn’t think was still legal… People in the bar were not particularly friendly but it was my first time. This is a neighborhood bar, not a fancy sports bar. The TVs are small. Wings here are great!

This is truly a hidden gem here in Lancaster. It’s an old bar and restaurant that looks like a total craphole from the outside. Inside, it’s got that great, kitchy«American-Irish Pub» irreverence, from a life-sized stuffed bear with a shamrock hat in the non-smoking section(which is a total joke) to photos of historic Irish places. The food is great, and CHEAP. Surprisingly so. My husband and I go all the time, as it’s within walking distance of our house, and have never gotten something we don’t like. It’s stick-to-your-ribs good cooking, and the menu is huge and varied. There’s also a full bar and chicken wings to die for. Dessert is homemade and different every day. The waitresses are seasoned and friendly and will recognize you the second time you come in. I spoke to the manager, and they’re also thinking about getting free wireless access in the near future. Awesome place.
