I came here in a bind, and I found the customer service and support here to be amazing. Roland and the mechanic went above and beyond their normal job duties to help remove the broken plastic part underneath my car that was dragging along the street. They were both very quick to help and put a smile on my face. I highly recommend going to them!

I made an appointment at 6 p.m. when I arrived I was informed that they didn’t have enough mechanics and I should reschedule so I just left.

Some kid with obnoxiously long facial hair talked me out of getting any service. Based on looking only at my dashboard he told me that my transmission was the only problem and they could not help me. Bizarre since I came all the way out here to get my whole car looked at

This isn’t so much compliment to Pep boys but rather to a mechanic, I believe that his name is Gavin. This guy went beyond the Job, He took the time to trouble shoot and actually acted like he cared the whole time. I was there Friday (11÷20÷15) evening at 4:45 to help my elderly mom. I went to have them touch up some keys they made that didn’t work from earlier in the day. I came out of the store and nothing no power, the first person (a pep boys employee) that looked at it said that it was an electrical problem and I needed to get it to Ford. I called Ford and they were closing and said maybe they could look at it Monday or Tuesday. I was suppose top heading back to San Diego in one hour for work on Saturday morning. I was talking to customers in the parking lot trying to find some help. That is when Gavin walked by and I asked him to take a look. In a matter of a few minutes, he said it was probably the battery and to try charging it. I already had one employee check the battery and he said call ford. I offered Gavin a $ 100 tip just for caring and taking the time to help me in the parking lot. He REFUSED the Tip and said that they do not accept tips. Bottom line it was only a battery. Thanks to Gavin. Pep boys is lucky to have an employee like that. If I lived in Lancaster, Gavin is the only one that would have work on my car !!

So the first time we went there because we didn’t want to drive all the way to the dealership so we took it to Pep Boys. (You get what you pay for right? My mistake. Sighs.) While they serviced it, my husband sees them using their phone as reference instead of a manual. After they finished servicing it, and changing our tires, they didn’t reset the computer and just left all the warnings there. Then they tell us we need to bring the car to the dealership ANYWAYS because they can’t reset it for us, it’s a dealership thing. So I’m sitting in the parking lot and I look at the manual and actually read the darn thing and guess what? I figured it out and reset our computer myself.
The next time I went there because of low pressure in my tire. I took it to a Firestone and he said my tires look pretty new and I probably have a warranty, which I do. I take my car to Pep Boys and go inside prepared to show someone my paperwork. I walk up to the manager and he asks me what’s wrong, I say I have low tire pressure, maybe a leak or hole. He then ROLLS his eyes and then proceeds to SIGH the biggest sigh. Then he talks to someone on his earpiece and tells me to pull my car up to the back. When I get there and tell the guy my tire has a leak, the guy ALSO sighs the biggest sigh. They are soo rude.
Today, one of my tires was low again. I bring it in to the Lancaster Pep Boys, and they don’t have the equipment to do tire patches. He tells me that I would need to drive to the Palmdale one 8 – 9 miles away for a tire patch. I ask him if it’s safe to drive, he said I should leave the window down and listen to the tire for a whooshing sound. I told him I heard the sound when I drove into my garage. He said he didn’t hear any sound at moment. He says if I can hear the air, then go to the gas station to fill it with air. So I start driving a block to the nearest gas station and immediately hear air. Some very nice guy helps me add air to my tire (he offered). And highly recommended I not drive on it. Because the tires was supposed to be at 36 psi, but it was at 20 psi, and he tried and tried, but couldn’t get it pass 30. And air kept whooshing out as quickly as he filled it. The main point is the pep boys guy told me drive when I shouldn’t have and didn’t bother to check my air or anything. My husband called the Palmdale Pep Boys and they told him I shouldn’t drive there with my tire like that.
Rico then took my tire to the Palmdale pep boys. And now that I’ve purged my resentment and disappointment with the Lancaster Pep Boys, I feel a little better. But I still wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. They are unprofessional, rude, and aren’t reliable.

Night crew is horrible and Lazy! Fyi I once upon a time worked here when the service advisors would hustle and I’d be there handling business checking customers out I’d stay late and be in a rush trying to get everyone out asap. If you’re going to go, go during the day early AM hopefully you’ll find people willing to work at those hours! If Roland is working you’re in luck! Roland has always be the best be takes care of his customers!

Worst mechanic shop ever. Don’t ever come here!!!

I went in for a wheel alignment and after 10 minutes with my car, their mechanic came out saying I need to replace 3 out of 4 wheel bearings and that my struts were shot and leaking fluid. Total bill was over $ 1300 and they asked if I wanted to have it worked on right then and there.
I took my car to get a second opinion and it turns out my struts were perfectly fine but I did need to replace 2 of my bearings soon. What Pep Boys’ mechanics made seem like a big deal was in fact not and instead of paying $ 1300, I only needed to pay $ 300.
You know how people say Pep Boys is a ripoff and try to take your money? Well it’s true, avoid them at all cost.

Ridiculous… Apparently my English could not be understood. I went in to have the wiper motor on my truck replaced. I could have done it, I was being lazy and thought «what the heck?». The lady at the service desk has to be told twice what I wanted, then a guy (James) came up and said «What does he want?» like I was intruding on their day. The girl told him, and he said «We don’t have anyone that can do that today.» So I had to inquire: «You don’t have someone who can take 6 screws out of the cowl panel, remove it, remove two screws attaching the arms, and 3 bolts to remove the motor, then put it back together?» He says with a scowl «Just give him a price.» I said, «No, that’s alright I will just go buy the part and do it myself.»
So I walk to the back, and the guy is laying his body on the standing computer desk facing the back of the store. I asked him if he was on break and he told me no, but didn’t bother to even stand up or turn to face me, just turned his head. I told him I needed a wiper motor for my vehicle, and gave him the yr, make, model and engine. He then asked me for the year, then make, then model, and finally, yes the engine. I had to tell him 3 times… there were only 3 selections on the screen!!! Finally I gave up, told him to go back to sleep and walked out.
I went right down the street to O’Reilly Auto Parts, the person (Henry) was kind, helpful, polite, energetic, and I was out in less than 5 mins with the wiper pulse board for $ 30. Got home, and in 15 mins had the circuit board replaced and wipers working great.
I will never step foot in that Pep Boys again.

Wouldn’t recommend them, I was quoted $ 90 for a coolant flush, and was going to be charged $ 167, it was more than the dealership, ridiculous.

This place just pisses me off, I made the appointment at 9am and and an hour and a half later they finally got to me. What is the point of making an appointment if they will just do what they want any way. All I wanted was an oil change, some thing I could have done myself but because it was a company car I had to come here.

My tire pressure kept getting low so I brought my car in to Pep Boys on a Sunday morning to have it checked. I suspected I ran over a nail. I was in a hurry because I was meeting a couple of friends down below for lunch and thought I might have to cancel on them. They put my car on a lift immediately and found I did indeed have a nail in my tire. They fixed it immediately and did NOT charge me anything! I was in and out in about 10 minutes and met my friends for lunch on time. Thanks Pep Boys!

Great service at Pep Boys & excellent customer service by Service Advisor Metien Rodriguez for the quote on new tires & adjustments as well on my car. Excellent job & thank you for a pleasant visit at Pep Boys.

Went above and beyond to make sure that my car was road worthy for a trip… This after having several terrible experiences with other local mechanics. Not only can you trust these guys completely to work on what needs to be done they will go out of there way to help put you at ease. Not only did they save me money they probably saved my car. Thanks

Worst customer service experience I have had in years.
I set an appointment for a basic diagnostic and when I arrived they said they didn’t have a mechanic ready and it would be «a few minutes» for they took my car. 45 minutes later they had not even started. The car was just sitting there! Then the assistant manager tells me that the wait could be 2 to 3 hours before they start working on my car, even with an appointment. What is the point of taking an appointment!!!
At least the assistant manager was polite. The head mechanic was extremely rude to me the entire time, right from the moment I dropped off the car. He acted like a total jerk. It’s reasonable to assume that if I set an appointment there would not be a 2 to 3 hour wait. The head mechanic did not once apologize or acknowledge that the situation was screwy. His name is Mike. I would never recommend going here, but if you do, I suggest avoiding Mike.
Then, to make matters worse, I had to buy an antenna. I specifically asked the guy at the counter if the antenna I was buying would match my car and he said «yes». Of course, be in time it did not match my car and I had to return it.
How are these people in business?

I was told that pep boys over the phone they dissolve their diagnostic test into mechanical work. When I paid for diagnostic, I was told they no longer do this. I was disappointed. I talked to the manager Roland who helped me resolve the problem. He was kind and honored what I was told. They did the work, and I am satisfied. I have taken my car to Pepboys in the past and they have always been cuouteous, and did a good job. Two thumbs up. I hope this manager gets a raise.

I came here on a quick last minute thing as it’s Sunday, my tire was flat with a nail embedded, and most tire shops were closed.
This place was awesome! I’m a girl so I don’t know much about cars but they were friendly and very knowledgeable about helping me out and trying to get me a good deal.
I will definitely will be back!

Expect a wait… a large amount of frustration and unnecessary headache. No service, BIG attitude. Needed a tire to replace a flat. Called to make sure tire was in stock, made a appointment. Upon arrival Mike refused to sell me the tire due to my car being all wheel drive. He said the department of transportation legally required him to sell me four new tires or none. Obviously he works on commission and is all about the «up sale» the department of life requires me to let you know… Mike at Pep Boys is FOS

Three hours for a smog check? When we dropped off our vehicle for service there were no other people waiting ahead of us. Went in to inquire as to status after 2.5 hours as the vehicle had yet to be touched. We were told the service tech was at lunch for an hour, and it would take another 45 min after that. When we said we’d come back another day the tech was suddenly available.

I must say that all the Pepboys I have been to have provided great work coupled with great service. They are certainly changing my perception of them. I always thought they were shade tree mechanics, but that is not the case at all. If it wasting for my need to service my work vehicle I would have never known. I have always used Pepboys for parts, but never for service. Since I do most of the work on my personal vehicles myself. They will certainly be an option if I am crunched for time and need work don on my personal vehicles. I guess the on complaint I have is that at time the service time seems excessive.
