Rafiki’s Cafe

Very expensive and serving size small. Owner and food were excellent when they first opened… now. a little success spoiled both food and personality of owner. Wife has stayed gracious.

Rafiki’s café is located inside Central Market in Lancaster. It is a gem!
Got to chat for a while with the owner Roger. Such a nice guy!
The food is excellent. This is all home-​made African food. Roger and his wife make the food fresh every day.
There are some «international» flavours like Samosas and falafel.
Plenty plenty vegetarian options. I tried the African Veggie pulav,
Falafel, samosa, couscous, potato/​peas curry. They were all great!
My friend got chicken and beef (dont remember the exact names). He said they were good too.
Central market is in itself a fun place to visit. Rafiki’s is great, especially for vegetarian food.
I am kind of in an African food roll here. Recently got introduced to it, and lovin it!
