We live near here, so we should have been to Rockside sooner. Nevertheless, Ryan was very helpful and informative. We had a wine flight that we purchase through Groupon. We were treated to an absolutely first-class experience. Every wine was well explained to us. Even though we purchased«discount» for this, we were not treated as such. While Rockside doesn’t have a long list of wines, they do have quality wines. The fruit wines are very good without being over sweet. Whatever your taste, you will find something you like.

As their website says, this truly is a slice of wine county in Central Ohio. Located near Lancaster wine is made from the 4 acres of grapes that surround the tasting room, making for beautiful scenery and true locally made wine. Selections of wine varies from season to season based on what is available. Wines are available from dry reds to sweet whites to meet everyone’s taste. Happy hour discounts on Thursdays and live music on the patio on Saturdays Tasting room is cozy and inviting. Employees are extremely knowledgeable and will steer you in the right directions. Small plates of cheese and crackers are available for purchase along with the wine. I would suggest on your first visit to do tastings to figure out what you like. For my last visit, it was a gorgeous Saturday, perfect for sitting on the patio admiring the scenery and listening to the nigh’ts entertainment. My husband and I chose a bottle of Niagara, a sweet grapey wine, perfect for a hot summer day.

Delicious wine and super friendly staff. They totally went out of their way to make sure we had a nice evening. Worth the drive out of town.

Love visiting the winery anytime but tonight was their End of Winter Prime Rib Dinner. AMAZING food from Table One paired with awesome wines makes for a perfect evening. This is not a stuffy, nose-in-the-air place but a warm, welcoming home away from home. You are welcomed by the staff and well taken care of. The place is under new ownership, I understand, and has made some significant changes.

I’m so excited to see a winery in Lancaster! I’ve heard about it, and finally stopped in. I understand it’s under new owners also. It’s more of a gathering place that has wine though. I stopped in with family on a trip home at Christmas. More lights are needed on the outside, as the parking lot is pretty dark, as is the drive in from the road. It was a rainy night, but it was warm and inviting inside. There was live entertainment and a nice living room area with comfy chairs. Other locals seem to like to bring in card games and make a night of it at the few tables. There is a positive vibe here that you only get in small towns. The guys behind the counter and friendly and helpful. There was a group of us, so we ordered a bottle on a recommendation from my sister who had been here before. We should have tasted it first, because once it was opened, we didn’t like it. There was something off. We mentioned it, and the guy gave us a different wine. We tasted it first this time. We felt bad for sending back a bottle we opened, but they didn’t mind at all — just wanted us to be happy. Way to go! I also have to say, that I loved the oyster crackers here! LOL It would be nice to see more of a wine tasting environment to enhance the experience. It seems to just have a locals sit-around vibe. Keep up the great work, guys. I look forward to seeing what you do with the place.

We found this deal on Living Social and it happened that we were going to spend a few days in the Hocking Hills so we gave it a try. Ryan, our host, was fantastic and very knowledgeable! He explained each wine to us as he poured, what kind of mouth feel we would get and the flavors that might come through for us. The vineyards are beautiful, even in winter, and many of the wines contain grapes grown right on premise. Our deal came with a cheese plate(delightful!) along with two souvenir wine glasses. The tastings were $ 1 for a one oz pour, which is super reasonable. Since we are new to wine, we still tend to prefer a sweeter wine and purchased a bottle of the Niagara, which is wonderful.
