Perfect, just perfect! My girlfriend has recently found out that gluten is accelerating her eczema. Thank you thank you to The Seed for providing the gluten free items for her *she loved the gluten free wrap*, as I have options that are super healthy *yay Chickpea of the sea on sourdough*

Love the place, space, and the list of things you won’t find at The Seed… including high fructose corn syrup and discrimination! Been vegan for years. SO tired of searching for items on mainstream menus! Sure, any salad can be made vegan at those other places. Enough salads and portobello sandwiches! THANKYOU for great dishes… the Rueben. Buffalo cauliflower. Party girl falafel. Yummy! AND filling! Exactly what you want when spending money on a delish meal. Great staff. Excellent hours. I love this place!

This was a surprisingly amazing experience! I am not vegetarian/vegan and I was a little doubtful about this place at first. I’m not very familiar with vegan food or restaurants, but this little café made me wanna try more! I ordered a falafel wrap with some delicious tea and it was a great meal! The atmosphere in this café is very hip and relaxed and I just loved their idea for this place and their décor and service!

I had the buffalo cauliflower wrap and the blueberry birch beer. Both were fantastic. The space is beautiful and the service is great. My friend also recommends the vegan rueben!

The Seed is a really casual atmosphere that has great food and stands for a lot! It has special items for vegan customers and has plenty of gluten-free items/substitutions. It emphasizes locally-grown items, and has events at its facility, such as music, comedy, and meetings/activities for climate change, transgender individuals, and marijuana legalization groups. Plus it’s right by the Lancaster Central Market so it’s at a great place to stop and eat before or after getting your local produce For the food, I got the vegan breakfast burrito, which was full of flavor(and a tad spicy!). It was also very filling. My mother got the egg bagel, which she also says was very good. I would recommend stopping by, especially if you want to casually try vegan food :)

One of my favorite places in Lancaster for sure! The food is fresh and delicious tasting, and I love their rotating side dishes. The key part of The Seed is the staff. Not only is the staff super friendly, but they also care. Story time: My boyfriend and I showed up right after the kitchen had closed one night and an employee volunteered to make us dinner and stay late anyway. :). I felt really lucky — plus I’d been wanting to eat a delicious BBQ wrap for days!

There are some cool spots in Lancaster, and this is one that deserves your business. It’s a little difficult to find. It’s kind of in an indoor mall and all the way at the end of the hallway. Friendly staff, and good food. Very casual bohemian coffee shop vibe.

I’d been looking forward to checking out The Seed ever since I heard about it. Came in last night when I was in town looking for an apartment and grabbed a quick bite before getting back on the road. I wanted to love this place but my first visit was just ok. First, the housemade kombucha had a weird flavor that reminded me of Braggs apple cider vinegar. Secondly, the tofu reuben was good but not great. Part of this is my fault because I just really love corned beef hash and I was mistaken to think that I would as happy with tofu as an alternative. Third, the peanut butter cookie looked like it had a lot of promise but it was much too crumbly and overly sweet, as in it fell into a million pieces with cookie bits and sugar granules showering my lap and all over my car when I tried to eat it while driving. The Energizer iced tea with yerba mate was good and kept me awake from PA to NJ. A larger size might’ve kept me going until CT. Staff were nice and I appreciated the casual vibe of the place. I’ll come back to try it again and probably order the sweet potato wrap or a salad next time.

The help is fantastic. The space is welcoming. The food and drink, balanced and satisfying. I sampled the egg burrito, and the frittata on a bagel. Both of which were hearty and healthy. Coffee is perfectly brewed and hot. Teas are expertly blended and prepared for you. Music selection is indie and exciting, although maybe slightly above ideal decibel. I do wish they opened a little earlier. I definitely would return if in town again.

Every time I head to Central Market, I pass by a sign advertising The Seed, but I’ve always passed it up in favor of some of the other great restaurants downtown. My husband and I decided to finally try it out. We were both pretty hungry and I thought that the food would be too light to really satisfy, but I was definitely wrong. I ordered the Party Girl(a falafel wrap) and my husband ordered the Reuben with Swiss. We both got a cup of Russian cabbage soup on the side. The sandwich and wrap were fantastic and incredibly filling. Loved the vegan ranch! The Russian cabbage soup… not so much. It was pretty bland. We also shared a vegan chocolate chip cookie, which was pretty good for a vegan dessert. Even though the café is in kind of an odd spot downtown, I loved the interior space! Big, bright windows and a nice view.

I did a little day trip in Lancaster the other day and, much to my dismay, was surprised to realize that virtually the entire city closes down at 2PM. In a search to find a decent meal at 3PM, I came across The Seed and I am so glad that I did! I wish I lived in the area because I would probably come here every week. They have great salads and really nice looking sandwiches too. All of the ingredients are super fresh and very flavorful. I tried the Party Girl(felafel) as a salad – delicious! And the teas are really creative and satisfying as well. Even though the interior does kind of feel like the cafeteria for a liberal arts college, I didn’t really mind. It’s clear that the folks here are aiming for a higher goal than just to serve great food, and they definitely do the latter very well. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

We love vegetarian restaurants and I root for small business owners. Very cool place that is hidden behind Queen St in a shopping alcove. I shared two sandwiches with my daughter and they were both great. The Party Girl was my favorite. Next time I will get my own! Great home baked goods as well.

I figure, a vegetarian wrap will be yummy and fresh, I’ll be glad I ate it once it’s gone, but perhaps the filling factor will be lacking. I was wrong! Go there hungry, as their creations are expertly executed and they do not skimp. Mirco greens, sweet potatoes, soups — they do it all simply and correctly, more so even, generously! A highlight was their Berkey water filter. Set up right at the counter for you to sip as much as you like. Water that clean tastes like a special treat. An excellent addition to such an establishment. I also enjoyed their tea blend named Community Immunity. Awesome blend with seriously desirable ingredients! Elderflower and ginger root anyone? Their staff is calm and cool, making the environment not only welcoming, but also great for beginning your digestion. All around lovely atmosphere, food and teas! They are doing great things here and could quite frankly teach a lot of people how to eat well. I’ll be back as soon as I’m able.

Oh how I long to go back. We hit this place while driving from Pittsburgh to Delaware and I fell in love. Healthy, yummy vegetarian food. It’s a little hard to find. Kind of buried in an alcove, then up a flight of stairs. I had the special of the day, the mushroom po boy and I could’ve eaten two. It was just amazing. Also had the vegan peanut butter cookies. Great texture, not dry. I like that there is a basket of toys for kids in the corner.

I stumbled across this place by accident and it seems to be a fortuitous accident. I am gluten-free and vegetarian. The menu here was delightful. I had some homebrewed kombucha, a sweet potato wrap and some tasty local potato chips. My mouth was very happy. I also like the ethics of the worker owned and inclusive space.

A gem in Lancaster. It was the capstone of my first visit to Lancaster(which was probably the least Lancaster-y visit. we went to an art house cinema and had dinner at the radical vegan café), and very tasty. I had a vegan reuben, which I loved, while my friend had a BBQ sweet potato wrap of some kind. One, I love(vegan) reubens, and this was a good one. Two, their adorable tiny cupcake desserts were adorable. Three, plenty of seating and very chill vibe. Their calendar looks like they have a lot of cool community events going on. Will return when in Lancaster!

Finally got to check this place out. If you’re not familiar with the area it’s a little difficult to find, but we finally found it and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the restaurant and general ambience– lots of natural lighting. We got a couple of the wraps– the BBQ sweet potato and the Chickpea of the Sea. Side of tomato bisque, side of chips, Happiness tea for me and kombucha for my husband. Everything was really good. He liked the bbq wrap, i liked the chickpea sandwich. The kombucha was good, happiness tea was good… the only thing is that the service was a little… odd. i wouldn’t say anyone was rude but they weren’t exactly friendly either. It was obviously our first time there, and despite there being only one other group of people in the restaurant(it was mid-afternoon on a rainy Sunday), I felt pressured, somehow, into making a fast decision on our order. They weren’t actively pushing me to order, but they were just kinda standing there staring at me waiting to take my order. Questions were answered in a very terse manner… just, not very friendly(but maybe this was just me being awkward?). I don’t know, I think I had built this place up in my head for so long, that the lack of warmth kinda bummed me out. Anyway, the food, kombucha, and tea blends were good, but I was still somewhat disappointed. The bottled beverages were just Honest Teas and Izzes– standard stuff you can get at Target. I guess I was hoping for more unique offerings. The vegan chocolate chip cookie made me want to curse anyone who ever bothers making vegan chocolate chip cookies(blechhh)… It was okay, I’ll definitely be back when I want some kombucha or good veg/vegan food, but probably won’t be a regular.

Holy amazeballs! I love this place! The Seed is a worker-owned collective and community space that serves some crazy good vegan/vegetarian food. I ordered The Reuben with the side of the day(curried cauliflower quinoa). Both were delicious and very satisfying. If it couldn’t get any better than that, they also have organic kombucha on tap which is made in-house. Also insanely good – and even perhaps some of the best I’ve ever had. The way it works here is that you order at the counter and the food is then delivered to your table. There are quite a few wooden tables to chose from – some for parties of one or two – and other larger tables that could fit up to four. Along the back wall, they have their event calendar on a large chalk board and also a small stage. And the bathrooms! There is a sign that says«all gender restroom» in order to create a safe space for people to use the restroom regardless of gender identity or expression. Highly recommended! And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t give out 5 stars that frequently.

I’ll give it five stars being that its a start up and I’d love to see a few changes, but what I had was awesome thus far. Eggplant and garlic soup. Awesome. Usually eggplant dishes can be naturally greasy, but they seemed to solve that. A little lightly spiced, but it is Lancaster county and I’ve noticed everything in the area tends to lean toward UNDERspiced. Good and certainly better than over. Tofu Reuben. Very good. Delicious and not wet like other vegan Reubens I’ve had. I like how they panini-fied the bread. Nice touch. Side salad was fresh local greens, with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. Fresh. Refreshing. No iceburg lettuce which was a total plus. Huge tea selection, but just one thing missing… Dessert! I live for good vegan desserts! Call vegan treats. Make your own. Anything, just get some! The location is hard to find. However, do not despair. Make the effort. Great vegan /vegetarian places are hard to find. Make the trip ASAP and visit The Seed.
