Thimmes Fish Shack

If your looking for a fancy restaurant this isn’t it. If your looking for large portions. This isn’t it. If your looking for restrooms accessed from inside the restaurant this isn’t it. However, the fish sandwich was very good as well as the waffle fries and bean soup. Soup needed salt and pepper but that’s available so no biggie. Service was polite and fast. The place is super clean. It’s a walk back in time. I eat out alot and I seen someone say something about people not getting out much who had positive reviews here. Well I will say I have been to alot of places. Fancy and not fancy. Local owned and chains. And I was more pleased with the meal at Thimmes than I have been at some big known places. Wish the meal was a tad larger but the prices are reasonable to really we all probably need portions like this. I know it wouldn’t hurt me. I was content and that’s all I needed to be! There was no one at the restaurant when we got there and was second guessing our decision to eat there. However we were early for lunch. By the time we left the restaurant was filling up with customers. That made me feel better to see.

You cant go wrong with the fried fish sandwich, fried mushrooms and bean soup under 8 bucks.

Thimmies isn’t a fancy fish restaurant. However, it is the best fish you will have. Fresh, simply prepared as it has been at this family establishment for over 50 years. Try the home style onion rings.

I’ve been coming here since I was little. Family owned fish sandwich (and more) restaurant. I really like the sandwiches because they are NOT greasy like some places. Good service and quaint and they finally accept credit cards. Not fancy but good food and prices.

The place doesn’t look like much from the outside, or inside for that matter, but the fish dinner I had was good. For the price I paid, the fish fillet was huge and not greasy. Did I mention that the fish tasted fresh? I ordered the onion rings — again, good portion size.
Will I go back the next time I am in Lancaster? You bet!

A nice family restaurant with yummy fish served in a simple manner. A great place to go for lunch or dinner. If you like fish, you will enjoy this restaurant.
