What a great theater. I hope the people of Lancaster know about and appreciate this little jem. Most theaters play GARBAGE films, this place plays quality films and special stories. Great place to cuddle up on one of their couches and get cozy to a fine film.

After seeing a movie here, I don’t know how I’m going to go anywhere else. Couches, chairs, recliners; it’s like being at home. But way cooler. Reasonably priced tickets and snacks, too. This gem shows indie films that aren’t usually in this area. I’m so glad this place is doing well, it’s definitely a fabulous addition to the city. Oh, and the best part? It’s BYOB.

This place is a treasure. While it is nestled deep within an old building which now houses everything ranging from apartments, office space, and a fitness center, it is well-marked to allow easy navigation to find Zoetropolis’s actual space. There are two sides to Zoetropolis: a little café/snack bar(where you also buy your movie ticket) and the actual movie theater. It’s got old theater-style seats and couches and comfy chairs, all in this old warehouse-looking area. It’s truly charming. Their film selection definitely runs more art-house(indie/foreign/etc) and I’ve seen films ranging from the newest Studio Ghibli animated film to a saucy drama written by one of the main chicks responsible for the Girls tv show. Edit: I should mention that prices are in line with major cinemas, both ticket and food. Although they do offer student discounts on tickets($ 7.50 instead of $ 10), as well as matinée prices(the 3pm showings on Sat/Sun). And yeah, the popcorn is delicious. Edit 2: They’ve since lowered their prices form my initial comment. Can’t remember off-hand what the new pricing system is, though. Perhaps $ 8 regular, $ 7 student/senior citizens? Don’t quote me on that.
