Someone I work with, told me about this place. And once I went for the first time and walked in, I saw sign that said«Hot/Cold Roast Beef sandwich» Special. I ordered the hot roast beef with mayo, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes on toasted wheat bread, and it’s delicious. And I’ve been stuck on this sandwich ever since & I haven’t even tried anything else off the menu. It’s right around the corner from my job, and I can always call my order in before and go pick it up. I did try the onion rings, but they were just ok, the texture of the beer battered breading wasn’t very tasty. Maybe it was that batch, but I’ll just save the rings for BWW.

Great for breakfast & lunch. This is a carry out there’s nowhere to sit so don’t expect to eat in. The food is consistently good. I would eat here every day if I could. Wait a minute I can!

Breakfast sandwich. Steak & egg, run it through the garden. Like it. Gonna try ‘old dude special’ next time.

Grew up in Bowie and have been driving by this place since around 1975 and never noticed it and I feel like a total idiot. Classic DC breakfast carryout serving bluecollar workers since the 1950s, the sort that are dying off downtown because of the rents but you can still find tucked away in strip malls in PG County. For such a tiny place, the carryout menu is pretty sprawling: standard breakfasts of eggs, choice of meats, all around $ 6 – 7. Cold/hot sandwiches and subs for lunch; also salads, soups, and wraps for those sickos who want to eat healthy. Rolled in on a Saturday morning and the place was jumping. Got the fried whiting sandwich, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. Generous portions and filling. Noticed they had fried gizzards which are almost impossible to find. Fried hard, they’re like crack. My jaw was sore for hours, but in a good way. Thursdays in the Summer they do bbq with a REAL smoker, also difficult to find: chicken, ribs, brisket, pulled pork. Daily specials run the soul food gamut: smothered pork chops, meatloaf, wings, fried catfish, with sides of mac & cheese, collards, mashed potatoes and gravy. All the specials are under $ 10; bbq will run $ 13 to $ 17. Can’t wait to try the ‘cue(seems like every place I try, they bake their meat instead of use a real smoker). Until then, this is a solid, quick breakfast/lunch carryout that knows what the hell they’re doing and at a more than reasonable price.
