As time goes by. Wednesday Aug., 6, 2014 — Friday Aug., 8, 2014 The Lady and I started from Lake Geneva, WI for Anna’s B&B early enough for what turned out to be a disappointing side trip to the Wisconsin Dells.(My God, has anybody been there lately? It looked like the strip in Myrtle Beach. The only thing missing was putt-putt golf.) We arrived later than our expectation in Lanesboro after being lost in a detour loop but, thankfully, gave Steve a call and he graciously stayed on the phone as he directed us to the front door. Anna V’s is a charming, well appointed, comfortable Victorian style B&B. Innkeepers Steve and Susie Harris show obvious pride of ownership as all the rooms are spotlessly clean and the downstairs parlor(sitting rooms) very comfortable. Coffee was delivered to the door at 7:00am and breakfast at 8:30. We had three fabulous breakfasts(I’ll have to try my hand at blueberry sausage) and each had a palate cleansing sherbert served with fresh fruit from the garden. Susie is a wonderful cook and Steve a courteous server. Lanesboro is a quiet little town and we really enjoyed walking the neighborhood streets. As evening turns to dusk the fireflies begin to appear rising from well kept lawns. Sit and rest a bit on the front porch, a glass of Merlot in hand and gather your thoughts to form fond memories of Anna V’s.

This was our first B&B experience and our first time to Lanesboro. Thanks to Susie and Steve’s warm hospitality, it won’t be our last. Anna V’s is a short jaunt from downtown Lanesboro on a quiet residential street. Please be advised to make your reservations well in advance because this is one of the best B&B’s in town and it’s no secret. We were warmly greeted by both of our hosts upon arrival. We were given a tour of the house and warm cookies and cider! Once we settled in our hosts were also helpful with dinner suggestions and willing to make reservations if needed. They had lots of helpful information(menu’s, etc) available in booklets in our room as well. The bed was super comfy and the sheets were to die for. The most amazing sheets I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping on. The room had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. In the morning, we enjoyed coffee delivered outside of our room, followed by an amazing three course breakfast. Every detail was attended to. They even took our pictures before we left! I’ve never felt so at home in someone else’s home! Please visit Susie and Steve on your next visit to Lanesboro!

We LOVE Anna V’s. Steve and Susie are great hosts. They are very welcoming and fun to talk to. We had a fantastic brunch and a great stay. We plan on staying at least once a year to enjoy Lanesboro and Anna V’s!
