Food here seems spotty. Having read another reviewer’s comments… I have to agree. We went on a Saturday night also and hardly anyone there. Service is very slow, which is difficult to understand since there are few customers to serve. Both times we have been there lately, we went because we had a «Restaurant.com» coupon. And both times we ordered the Prime Rib. The first time, we were pleasantly surprised… nice size portion, great taste, overall a pretty good meal. The second time(I believe last weekend), the meal was not as good. My piece of prime rib was ½ fat… no exaggeration. And for some reason, the meal was not as flavorful as the first time. I doubt that we will be going back. Coupons are used and nothing to lure us back at this point.

We met some friends from NJ here since it’s a good halfway point. It’s hard to find good non-chains in the Langhorne/Bensalem area since we aren’t too familiar. Atmosphere = eh. On a saturday night the parking lot was empty and there were maybe 6 tables with diners. This definitely made us wonder. We were seated on the«porch» which was a bit chilly, but they turned up the heat when we asked. Our waitress was nice, but always disappearing for a long time. It seemed she had to go to china to get refills of water. It also seemed that she had all the tables. Food was good, portions decent and prices large. Crab cakes, mixed grille, prime rib and short ribs all were good choices(over $ 22 each, prices higher than their website, did not include any salads). We had a $ 50 off from and thought we’d take them for a ride(had to spent $ 100) but when we got the bill it was OVER $ 200. We ended up paying $ 85 per couple, and for that I would rather go to the Melting Pot. Sorry Joe, we won’t be back.

Expensive, fancy, decadent, rich, and good are the words that come to mind when thinking of Joseph’s. The location may not be the best, what with being next to Penndel and near the train station and all, but believe me, Joseph’s exterior is fooling you. The food was great.

The chef, Anthony Garvey, branched out from being the chef at the Brick Hotel to owning his own restaurant. It is a very attractive restaurant and sports a nice sized, bar, where you can be dressed and feel comfortable sitting at the bar or a side table or come in casual to have a beer, a bite to eat and view sports on TVs. The menu has a very nice selection of some mighty fine dishes which display the chef’s colors. In house made garlic and parmesan french fries are not to be skipped and the shrimp tempura appetizer with pineapple salsa and soy is outstanding. My second trip there, started with our having a drink and our appetizers in the bar, moving to our table, ordering and having a nervous(new?) server dump(accidental) my salad on my lap(hooray for napkins being placed on the lap!) anyway, she felt very badly and I laughed and said I wanted the Caesar salad, not a tossed salad! Get it? She was feeling better after that. Glad I did not have soup! I’ve had Joseph’s signature crab cakes and the filet mignon of course was tender, juicy and flavorful! Anyway, they are well worth checking out. @
