I went here for the first time last night for dinner. It was a great experience with delicious food! The restaurant is very clean and had nice décor. The service was great! The server was very friendly and got everything correct. Several people that worked there came to our table to ask if everything was good, which was very nice. Everyone seemed like they knew what they were doing. The hostesses were extremely friendly too. They smiled and greeted us and said bye when we left. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot, but there are a lot of places out there that have miserable people working for them. It was nice to see actual happy people. The food was really good too. I got the gnocchi florentino, which was delicious. Too bad I couldn’t eat more but I was stuffed from the bread and salad of course. This restaurant is BYOB so make sure you bring a bottle of wine. I can’t say enough great things this place. I will be sure to go back again!

Great lunch! We had the grilled Calamari and two different Panini’s. This is their 3rd restaurant and the food and the service has been very consistent in the two restaurants that I have been to. Probably a little high for lunch, but very good.

Excellent food and reasonable prices. Had a musician playing while we had dinner. Definitely worth a stop in.

The Pizza was pretty good but the staff was very distant and cold. Almost like they didn’t want to be bothered with my business. The Lawrenceville location is 10 times friendlier and attentive to their customers. They also offer more pizza variety.

Decent slice, but from the look of the tables around us and the menu we did not even get a taste of this place. We were driving through and were short on time and saw slices that only required a few minutes in the oven. Had a pasta slice which is always a confusing mix of flavors, but was quite satisfying and a plain slice which was not that bad. My critique of the pie was the lack of flavor in the crust.

Went last night with friends. They had been there before, we had not, so I was really looking forward to it. I was very disappointed. Our waiter was very hard to understand and none of us was sure what the specials were. The service was painfully slow, with our waiter just disappearing and leaving us with empty glasses of iced tea and soda. When he finally came back he actually looked surprised that we wanted anything. We asked for more bread and sauce and after we were done eating the bread came, but no sauce. Then he hovered around the table til we paid our bill. It was the most we saw him the whole night. The food was good, portions were plentiful. Service was very poor.

Went last night and I forgot how fantastic this place was. Beet salad with a great dressing, caprese’ salad, eggplant park, and my wife had grouper with crab and clams. It was all perfect. Waitress was fabulous and fun, And it was her first night! Acoustic guitar player was a nice treat. Just a great all around place. By the way try the Brooklyn pizza!!! Its terrific!!!

How have I not reviewed this place before now? We found Piccolo Trattoria one night when I was craving Italian and have been going there for years. The food is always fresh and tasty, the staff friendly(albeit sometimes slow — but not enough to make me lower my rating). And the cannoli the best I’ve had in this area! We loved it here so much that we decided to have our going away party here recently. This was the only place(of the 5 we called) that could accommodate the 30+ people who would be coming and going and ordering off the menu. We didn’t want to have a set menu, and the staff did awesome taking care of everyone and there were no complaints about service or the food. If you’re in the area I highly recommend stopping in.

The experience here had its ups and downs. The most important thing to know is that the food here is actually quite enjoyable. The dishes are large enough to take some home. The menu is large and varied and the atmosphere is laid back without being too loud. It’s a BYOB, and there is a Wine and Spirits store just a few shops away, which is great if you are in the mood for a bit of wine with your dinner. The quality of the food was good. You get bread to snack on, and most entrees include a soup or salad. The pasta that I had was not overcooked(something that would be unforgivable in an Italian restaurant) and the sauce was flavorful without being overly seasoned. To go with the menu items, they have regular specials and the prices aren’t too outrageous. This particular night they had lobster ravioli. To my surprise, there were lump pieces of lobster as opposed to purée. That was a nice surprise. So what could be dragging this, so far, glowing review down to 3 stars? It’s a simple answer… The wait staff. While very friendly, the staff here is very unorganized and it took far too long between interactions. And it didn’t help that there were three different servers who clearly weren’t communicating with one another, all of whom had attempted to wait on my table at different times. Friendly but inefficient is the best way to describe the experience. In the end, the meal we had was good, so the slow service didn’t taint the entire visit. I’d give it a go again in the hopes that service would be better. But I would recommend dropping in only if you aren’t in a rush.

Had a wonderful meal last weekend with our family of 29. The service was phenomenal– appetizers and the delish bread came out immediately. The waiter was brilliant and brought out the kids food first(we had 8 kids ranging from 1 – 9 years old). Our food was great and for the one person who was less than thrilled with their choice the manager re made the dish and sent them home with another dish just in case. The back room was perfect for our large group and the BYOB aspect was excellent, especially given the liquor store a few doors down. Mike greeted us warmly and made sure to give our guest of honor his special birthday wishes. I would definitely recommend this place for large groups and those with kids or anyone who is looking for some yummy low key Italian!

VERY confusing in so being that there is ANOTHER pizza place right next door to this one with a completely different menu and owners as this place. Brooklyn pizza is good! Mozz stix are very good too! I liked their salad too! I’d come back!

Had my childrens christening at Piccolo Trattoria last week and I can t say enough about this place!!! The food is excellent, the owner is wonderful to work with and so is the entire staff. They were very accomdating to my every need. The resturaunt is clean, decorated beautifully and has great ambiance about it. My guests are still raving about the food. I was more than pleased with my event and without a doubt will be back for future events. No doubt about it — this place is 5 stars all the way!!! Thanks Piccolo Team! The Howard Family

Piccolo gets five stars for these reasons: Service is excellent! Price is resonable! Atmosphere is comfortable! The menu is expansive! Best of all the food is great and any dish can be modified to your taste! I visit regularly and the food is consistantly great.

One of the better Italian BYOs in the area! They have a huge menu with every Italian dish imaginable. I’m one of people who feels like they need to eat a salad or some kind of greens to make myself feel better before I eat a bunch of carbs. Weird, I know, but I was glad that most of the entrees came with a side salad. My pasta alla vongole(aka pasta and clams) was great although I noticed my sauce was just garlic and olive oil. No clam sauce or spice from crushed red peppers, but it was still great. Loved their desserts too. They brought around the dessert tray with cheesecakes and pie, but also mentioned they had homemade tiramisu and cannolis in the back. When they mentioned the tiramisu and cannolis, I wanted to say, «One of each, please!» but I restrained myself and went with tiramisu. It did not disappoint. One of my friends went with the cannoli and that also looked homemade and yummy. I’ll definitely be back!

In my mind, an Italian Restaurant in the ‘burbs needs to be a BYOB these days. There’s nothing like cracking open a bottle of affordable Pinot Grigio with friends — and then cracking open another without a though of adding to your bill. Our server was really nice — though I think there were actually *too* many people coming around asking us how we were, how we were doing, if everything was all right. Please — I’ve just stuffed another bite Sausage Con Broccoli Rabe in my mouth every time you walk by — it’s delicious. Let me eat! Our table had all the bread we needed, the salads that came with the entrees were fresh and just the right size — and the dinner portions seemed just right all around. We also all partook of the lovely dessert tray(what a great/horrible way to tempt a crowd!) The dessert sizes were more than generous and my hot Kentucky Derby pie/cookie slice with vanilla ice cream was an exquisite way to end the meal. Too bad the movie we saw afterwards couldn’t compete with dinner!

We were in town for 4 days and I ate here twice! It’s as good as I remember from when I lived in Newtown PA and would frequent the Newtown location. We had an excellent waiter for lunch on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We ordered a cheesesteak and a chicken cheesesteak as we can’t get them here in California. They were terrific! The service was excellent and I have no complaints. I took my aunts and cousin here a few days later for lunch and this time, we had a waitress. She was wonderful as well, as we were a party of 5 at lunch and it was busy. She was kind and unflustered. We had everything from appetizer to dessert(I had the calzone and then a canoli… I know! It’s too many calories! But I don’t get this stuff in California!). We all enjoyed it very much and were thrilled with the meal from soup to nuts. GREATEXPERIENCE!

Went to Piccolo Trattoria in Langhorne with my wife was one of the worst meals we have eaten. We were seated and waited a full ten minutes before any server came over to ask about beverages. He said a waitress would be right over to take our order. Another ten minutes passed before our order was taken. My wife ordered ravioli and I ordered pasta with broccoli in pesto sauce. There was avery long wait before the food arrived. It was not very crowded. When the food arrived, the edges of the ravioli were burned! How one can burn food that is cooked in boiling water is beyond me. The pasta arrived in a large bowl filled to the brim with sauce – a disgusting bilious green color. It was like a soup with some pasta and broccoli swimming in it. The horrible presentation could be overlooked if the flavor was good– but it was not! I do not understand the many favorable reviews on this site. This was a terrible meal. On the plus side, when I complained, they tried to make the dish over, but at that point I did not want anything more from that kitchen. The manager also adjusted the bill and asked to give them another chance in the future.

I’m so thrilled that Piccolo Trattoria moved in and the Mediterranean Café moved out, what a difference in the menu, the décor, the flavors, quality of the food, the bountiful servings and the presentation, it’s like night and day. Piccolo Trattoria is three times the size with two large and long dining areas and an open pizzeria off to the side. One door leads you in to purchase pizza, either whole or by the slice, while another door leads you in to the dining room for yes a delicious gourmet Italian meal. They have done a wonderful job with the décor and layout of the restaurant, red bricks curve in an arch around the windows that separate the dining areas, but allow enough view through these and the wide open doorway between the walls if you are nosy like me. Beautiful plates are grouped together on the wall to look like one piece of art and paintings accent the colorful walls. We started with Gamberitti e Granchio which are hand rolled shrimp and crab meat in a spring roll wrap, served on top of an orange fennel dressed salad of frisee, arugula, baby spinach and shredded carrots. The three rolls and plate were drizzled with a balsamic reduction. An excellent dish that I would order again. Hubby ordered the Ravioli Milano, homemade pillows filled with cheese, shrimp and fresh tomatoes served in an Aurora sauce, which is similar to a vodka sauce. These were outstanding and came with a choice of soup or salad, hubby chose a house salad with a creamy Italian dressing. It was nice to see thick sliced ripe Roma tomatoes on the salad, I get so tired of unripe bland tomato wedges served on a salad. I had the Frutti di Mare(fruits of the sea) which is jumbo shrimps, large sweet scallops, clams in their shells, calamari and mussels served over your choice of pasta in either a red or white sauce. I was torn between the jumbo lump crab cakes, the lump crab with garlic and red pepper flakes, the crab stuffed flounder or this dish. Being the pain that I am, I asked if I could substitute the calamari and mussels for lump crab meat and our wonderful server said yes! I know, I know, but the trade off was worth it! My dish was huge and the lunch portion with four or five jumbo shrimps, several large scallops cooked perfectly, in fact the best I have ever had, at least eight clams and so much lump crab meat that I was in my glory, there must have been a good cup of it. I had the server choose the pasta and I received a perfectly cooked linguine in a garlic and white wine sauce with the perfect amount of heat. I opted for a Caesar salad loaded with anchovy filet’s at no additional cost and it was a beautiful and crisp large salad. Mind you we were both charged for the huge lunch portions, I would love to see what the dinner portions were, we arrived mid afternoon. Hubbies would have been two dollars more and mine would have been five dollars more, he finished all of his, I of course brought much of mine home. The service was attentive and Kelly knew exactly how to take care of her guests plus she was well versed on the menu. The pizzas looked awesome and they do quite a bit of traffic in that area for takeout. I’m anxious to try a pie or three. It is BYOB, but do not fret, they are right next door to a Wine & Spirits store and there is a beer distributor in this strip mall. You could go into the city to the best Italian restaurant, pay twice as much and the food will not be any better than this. I know that I will return and I highly recommend that you pay them a visit soon. I love it when I find another favorite restaurant.
