I’m really sorry to report that this place seems to have dramatically gone down hill. I hope it was just the day but by the recent reviews it doesn’t look like it. I loved it in the past years ago when I used to eat here often, but frankly this time it was awful. The poor server was overwhelmed with the rush of business — she was the only one on. The burgers were below average and my gyros salad was tasteless and terrible. The whole experience left an awful taste in our mouth and upset stomach all day long. Too bad.

Had a shell in the crab cake, they brought the shrimp linguine rather than salad and the game hen was way over cooked. Absolutely terrible!

A friend and I stopped inside Café Langley for an early Dinner. We were seated at a lovely table by the window with a nice view of the water and downtown Langley. This was the only nice thing about the restaurant. Décor and tables were very outdated. And the service was very slow despite the restaurant being practically empty. We were brought a complementary basket of pita bread that resembled a thick tortilla more than pita bread. Not very tasty. The bread was served with prepackaged butter which was a strange combination. I ordered crab cakes and my friend ordered prawn linguini. We figured that because the prices were so high and we were so close to the ocean we would receive quality seafood. This was not the case. My friend’s prawns still had tails on them and did not taste fresh. They were served in an oily tasting marinara sause. My crab cakes were filled with mostly bread and vegetables and some brown crab meat. They tasted and looked like the frozen crab cakes that were served in the dining hall while I was in college. Spend a few more dollars and get fresh and local food from the bistro down the street. I will definitely not be returning.

Not a fan. This was kind of an epic waste of $ 40 for two of us for lunch. If I spend that much I expect some basic quality. The felafel was so thick and overcooked that it was more like eating a hockey puck. I have spent time in the Middle East so I am not clueless about how this should be prepared. I have had far better felafel from roadside stands. For the price I expected a little hummus instead I had to order a whole side of hummus. It was way, way too garlicky. My husband got fish and chips and it was equally disappointing. The batter was so thick that the fish slid out of it when he cut in to it. The fries were ok. It’s hard to F up fries. The one good point is we had a sweetheart of a waitress. This place is sadly not worth the time and money.

OK place overall. Saw two $$ on Unilocal, yet dinner cost over $ 35 per person with tax and tip. One person did not have wine and had vegetarian entrée(sampler platter.) specials seem to run $ 20. I’d give it $$$ and rate it as OK. Not many restaurant options on a Monday night even if it was Memorial Day. Quiet evening in Langley.

After an eventful whale watching trip you could consider us famished. The place was set to close at 2:30 we came stumbling in at 2:22pm.the server was nice enough to welcome us in and serve us. We ordered promptly and were served shortly after… calamari, the tuna sandwich, and crab cake sandwich… highly recommended!!! Clean, fast, and friendly service! Great experience

If Id written this review last night i may have given a few more stars but Ive been so incredibly sick all day today you only get one. My husband and i were in Langley for the Welcome the Whales festival and needed lunch. We checked all the local restaurants because hubs and I are gluten free(I get terribly sick from it and he gets terribly mean) and i am vegan. I can always find fabulous choices at Mediterranean restaurants so we were happy to find this place! We were even happier when we found you have gluten free pasta! Hooray! We ordered the veggie sauce with gluten free pasta and a plate of babaganoush and hummus to split… again stating to leave off the pita bread because we are gluten free. Our server clearly heard us because we were again pleasantly surprised when she brought a small plate of veggies instead to dip. The veggies were a few slices of cucumber, some chunks of zucchini and some rough cut carrots… not fabulous but we were still happy. The babaganoush was a little watery and the hummus was pretty flavorless but we were hungry and had veggies to dip so we ate it all. We had asked for the fries as a side(to dip in the hummus) and I noticed there were very few compared to our friend who got a side with her sandwich(kind of disappointing as we were splitting them and had only half the amount she had). The pasta came and I had to split it for us onto side plates and as my husband tucked in he said«Wow. The spaghetti tastes like REAL spaghetti!» I guess that should have been my clue but I trusted it wasnt REAL since they had shown they heard we are GF. The veggie sauce was good, nothing to write home about but good and we were happy because we dont often get pasta out. We left satisfied. Until this morning… when I woke up with the fiery gates of hell in my belly! I have been ridiculously sick all day and to top it off it was a gorgeous sunny day in Seattle and I had to miss it and spend it in the bathroom. I now get to wait for the gluten to make its way to my husbands brain where it will make him cranky and mean for 3 days. Not cool Café Langley… not cool at all. I know that restaurants are supposed to be EXTREMELYCAREFUL when someone states an allergy/reaction…a good example of this is Red Robin(strangely enough) who will even make sure youre ok with your fries cooked in the same oil as onion rings! If we had each eaten a full plate we would be desperately ill and I cringe to think of someone even more seriously celiac being treated to the same. Having seen another bad review here from a gluten free person it seems its time you get your protocols in order.

We ate here 2x in three days since we enjoyed it more than the other restaurants. Great Greek food. We ordered the gluten-free chicken dish, the lamb and the Greek salads. Very good. They accept reservations, but we eat early so didn’t need the ones we made.

beautiful little café in Langley bursting with patrons. hardly any place to wait so we walked around the block to wait for our table. excellent salmon with a Mediterranean salsa — not sweet, was great. husband enjoyed very much his lamb chops. yummy warm pita bread served with butter and simple dinner salad better than other Greek salads I have had. we thoroughly enjoyed our service.

This is a great little place for a really good dinner. It’s quaint but can get noisy once the dinner crowd starts rolling in. Make a reservation so you don’t wait forever. The food is very balanced and flavorful, although there is something that makes me not want to go above 3 stars… I can’t quite put my finger on it. They are willing to make it the way you want it! Don’t want onions? No extra garlic? No problem! I appreciate that. The wait staff is super friendly but I think they could have one extra person to help out — although it is very small so that’s probably why.

We had an excellent anniversary dinner at Café Langley. Service was great and we loved the hummus and babaganoush to start. Hubby raved about his eggplant moussaka, and the steamed mussels I ate were as good as those in France! The BEST! Though we didn’t have much room, we had to try the reviewer-recommended Russian cream for dessert– and they were right: DELISH.

First impression: We walked in and were quickly followed by a couple with a stroller. The couple was told they had to leave their stroller outside. It was raining. They ended up leaving because it was clear the place wasn’t suited for children. We were taken to our seats and promptly served wine but had to wait half an hour for salads to arrive. I took one bite of my salad and bit into an olive pit. I wrote this off, no big deal, these things get missed. But as I was eating I happened to look down at my plate and saw what appeared a dime sized beetle. When I poked it with the end of my fork it’s legs popped out. I removed it from my plate and put it onto an appetizer plate. When our waitress walked by we stopped her and showed it to her. Her reaction…“Well I’ve never seen that before.” Then walked away. She left the salad AND the plate with the beetle on our table. We had to flag her down again and ask her to remove both plates from the table. At no point was I offered any sort of apology. Needless to say, by the time our food had arrived(almost 2hours after we placed our orders) we had all lost our appetites. I will not be returning.

Not bad for a night out on Whidbey Island. The server was pretty stressed from trying to wait on the entire restaurant, but she was nice and apologized for delays. I asked if there were any gluten free recommendations other than the GF pasta I saw on the menu and she mentioned salad or others dishes without sauce. I decided to go with one of the pastas, but then was told a few minutes later that the chicken on the pasta did in fact have«a little soy». I was disappointed that the server wasn’t able to assume immediately that just a «little» soy sauce still would not be acceptable. They substituted the plain chicken and it was still a decent pasta dish. Just wish it didn’t take so many steps. Oh well. The wine, from the area, was really good and appreciated by all the guests in our party. The 3 year-old diner particularly liked the basket of pita and the crab cakes. Next time I think we’ll try Prima, as originally planned.

Came in early Sunday morning with the kids. Service was a bit slow considering there was only one other couple in the restaurant. Wife and I ordered salads. Kids had chicken strips and fries. Those were decent quality. My Caesar was good. Only complaint is that I upgraded and ordered shrimp with my salad. For $ 4 I got 2 shrimp… Confirmed same with the wife as she ordered shrimp with her salad and she mentioned she only got 2 as well. Don’t get me wrong, those two crustaceans were grilled and flavored wonderfully, but man that was pricey… Overall food quality is 4 stars, service and value brings it down to 3.

The chef does an excellent job with meats. I would agree with some other reviews that the sauces could use a little more zip but salt and pepper are on the table if you like more of that. Great meats. No gyros on the dinner menu. .unfortunately. but interesting menu. They do have a kids menu. Service has been pretty good the last few times I have been there. not obsessed with filling waters and checking on you but pretty good. Brian

I felt very conflicted after my experience here. We were quickly seated while the restaurant was moderately full. There are about 14 tables in all. Our food took about two to two and a half hours. My food was wonderful when it arrived, but Kasper received his SOUP more than five minutes after my pasta dish. When it arrived, it wasn’t even warm. Our server was very insulting to other tables and customers. She seemed to sometimes think out loud. For example she passed a table with two children who hadn’t been a major disturbance, saying«we need to ask that table if they need anything else. Hopefully they say no.» She said it so they heard her. It was all so tasteless. When I finally asked for the check she told me «not to worry about it» when I wanted to just double check it. In the end, I never even got a pen to sign my bill. The only saving grace was my food, but with the poor customer service I received I’m surprised. Some of the staff obviously didn’t want to be there.

My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary here during spring break 2014. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. It is within walking distance of our hotel(the wonderful Saratoga Inn). My wife got the flank steak special and I got the mixed grill(beef, lamb, and chicken). Everything was delicious. Wonderful Mediterranean flavors. The waitress(who evidently is the owner’s daughter) and has worked there for years was beautiful, attentive and quick. The night before the restaurant was packed and she had some problems(according to another guest at the inn) but she was able to laugh about it when we were there the next evening. Highly recommend.

I would rate this place negative five if I could. I went there with a friend for dinner, and we were seated right away. That was the extent of the service. The waitress did take our order. After that, there was no other wait service. We sat and waited for an hour and finally a man in blue jeans came out and said that the kitchen was backed up because it was packed. The place was almost empty. My dinner companion who is a local and raved about the place was also extremely disappointed. I have no plans to go to this place again.

Cute little place in Langley! The service is friendly and fast. I’ve eaten here several times and I’ve never been disappointed. I had the dungeness crab cakes with mango & tomato salsa– DELICIOUS! It came with roasted vegetables– the carrots were a dream. They were soft but still had a bite but the flavor was amazing– a perfect marriage of sweet from the carrots and savory with seasoning. Enjoyed my dinner there & I’ll definetly visit again.
