What a sad, sad, sad little pub this was. Again, GNATS everywhere!!! We ordered: 1 Vodka Grey goose, water, lots of lemons 1 Guinness 2 Glasses of Wine Cheese Curds — Fried It is really hard to mess up a vodka water cocktail, but apparently this place is awesome at screwing up drinks. I had asked for a side glass of lemons as well with my order but they never came. I am pretty sure he did not pour me a grey goose, or he did and extremely over poured my drink to where it tasted like rubbing alcohol. The Guinness was flat & had absolutely no head, and the two glasses of wine were undrinkable(They did take them off our check, since they literally took one sip). The curds weren’t bad, but fried food is fried food. I feel bad for this little town, they don’t have very many bar options to begin with and this is all they got?

Disappointed in the service quality, especially the lack of communication as to why our order was so slow. Nothing was offered to help remedy their mistake. The food was average for a dive bar. The macaroni and cheese could have been much better, it tasted a little better than store bought from a box. The cheeseburger was good and the GF bun was pretty good for being GF. Overall, the service could have been much better with a little effort and communication. Hate to say it, but average quality for a dive bar…

Great atmosphere, authentic English pub, including bangers and mash and poutine. Great beers on tap. Highly recommend the mussels(¾ lb) and the French dip on a cold, wet day

OK for drinks. The food is scary. Mostly because the place is so dirty. I feel bad for the owner, who is besieged by noise complaints from one particularly obnoxious neighbor.

A romantic trip to the island over the weekend… walked around downtown and found Mo’s Pub on an inviting corner. Greeted right away by friendly staff and you can sit inside or outside — families with children not allowed on the bar side. Menu is very large and has a variety of appetizers and dinners. We had drinks there the first night… which were poured generously and great selection of IPA’s and Ale’s on draft. Second night we had dinner… Their famous Bangers and Smash(UK themed Pub) were delish — the garlic mashed potatoes with gravy were awesome! Coconut shrimp was perfect and served hot with a spicy dipping sauce… the house salads were good size and very fresh. Comfy atmosphere and felt like a local… great options for lunch or dinner.

This place was a great stop-we were stuck wandering the town hoping to eat dinner when we found almost every restaurant in the town had a 40min-hour wait. We almost gave up when we found Mo’s on the edge of the town. Finally we were able to eat something, grab a drink and enjoy the view. The burger and Mac and cheese were great!

I think this is the only pub in town — and it’s depressing. The food is bland. Hamburger and fries seemed to come from the freezer. Served to me at luke warm temps. The fries were creepy cold. Service was dull. No one was rude or bad, just not very service oriented — more interested in chats with friends at the other end of the bar. Also, seems to be a haven for smokers. There is a smoking-allowed porch just off the bar. Smoke wafts in from open doors. Ugh. Too bad. It’s on the edge of a nice neighborhood but didn’t look like a many locals were hangin’ out. I’ll be back in a few weeks. Maybe things will change.

My second visit in — same bar stool as the first time. Nice staff, a cozy environment, and happy looking locals. Maybe there are great food options here; the crab cakes were certainly not one of them. My first visit was just for a watering hole, and I should should have stuck to that on my second. Older and wiser now, so third visit will keep it focused.

I like Mo’s. It’s nothing fancy, has a standard pub menu. We ordered mussels, turns out they were out so we went with the fried clams. They were tasty as were the accompanying fries and tarter sauce. Now for the best part– the beer! They have several drafts to choose from, all we had were cold and delicious. Perfect for happy hour on their patio. Thanks Mo’s!

Lots of negative reviews here, but I give it 4 stars because Mo’s is dog-friendly, with the only other option being the Braeburn(which was closed). Our server, dark headed young gal, that was set to start UW in the fall, was so sweet, and very catering to us. She even got fresh water for our dog. We visited during happy hour and the drinks were a dollar off, which was nice. I didn’t mind paying $ 4.75 for a 20 ounce beer at all. I agree with others that the draft list is a little lacking with the local pours, but I was happy with the Lagunitas IPA. We ordered the fish and chips, chicken fingers for the little one, and wings for my husband. I loved the flavor of the wings, and the blue cheese was awesome. I love it when you get a blue cheese that you can actually see chunks of blue cheese. My husband normally doesn’t eat blue cheese, but he actually ate this one. It was that good! The fish was just okay, and the French fries were amazing! I could eat all of them with a bottle of HP Sauce and be so happy. The atmosphere was semi-pub like, with the icing on the cake being the dart board area. Many times kids aren’t allowed in the dart area because it is on the bar side, but my son and I were able to play darts and have fun together. As mentioned earlier, there is a dog-friendly area that makes it a place enjoyable for us, and one we will return.

Pricy but big drinks. Heave on alcohol. Slow service for the lack of people in the place and the host is defiantly flaunting what little chest she has in a very low cut top But. The chicken strips were delicious and the fry were so crispy. All the frys had crisp. Not one soggy fry. Lovely. Id totally eat here again

The food is decent, but the service is very poor. Came as a party of four, three were served, the fourth had to wait. and, wait. The server gave the excuse that there were«problems in the kitchen». Once the fourth was served, no apology was given. On top of all this, two days later I found out they overcharged my credit card… giving themselves a 20% tip. This place is setting a poor example of what this little town offers.

I really want to like this place. The food is great. The working staff is awesome. I do want to say that for the English pub feel, it doesn’t support it. I love the fact they support the dart community. Big in that market. I went looking for the restroom but couldn’t find it without help. They call it the water closet. That’s great if you watch British tv every night. You can have any alcohol you want. You just have to want it straight. There is so much to choose from but not much local. There isn’t enough local. Not enough local wine when there are 7 wineries on the island. Really only 1 local beer with 6 taps. Please take advantage of this great local market. It will only make you guys so much better then you already are.

The little town of Langley is cute, but doesn’t offer much in the way of bars and restaurants. Mo’s pub has a lot to offer, though. «A place to drink and throw sharp objects», the sign outside says, referring to the dart boards in back. But there’s also a nice outdoor deck in front, which perfectly catches the late afternoon sun and offers peek-a-boo views of Puget Sound to the North. A nice selection of beer and cocktails is available, as well as standard pub fare. Fish and Chips were tasty, but the onion rings were uninspired. Mo’s offers a perfectly servicable dining experience in a place where there aren’t too many other options!

My friend and I picked up Clue 3(I think) for the Langley Murder Mystery here and we liked the guy inside at the host stand so much we decided to stay, well, put our name on the list.(Murder Mystery Weekend is busy) While we were waiting(and went on a walk to get another few clues), we talked the nice guy at the host stand to charge my friends phone because he doesn’t remember those kinds of things and while we could tell it wasn’t something they would do for anyone and it was super busy, they accommodated him! Super awesome points right there! Anyway… food, He had their Deluxe Cheeseburger and I had the Deluxe Mushroom Burger, both were excellent! Burgers, they are either great or not and these were great. The fries were crispy and I didn’t have any complaints. It is a pub with a restaurant, I didn’t have super high expectations, but all were exceeded! When you have happy staff, you have happy customers! Thanks Mo’s Pub!

My wife and I love coming to Langley, fun, quick and easy day trip. I really want to like this place, I really do. But the only nice thing I can say about this place is… they have TVs showing sports. And last I checked, they’re really the only bar in the whole town. Maybe that’s why they feel like they can get away with the following. It’s cramped, they try to stuff the place as full as they can get it. The hostess(some old guy) is pushy and curt. And the happy hour sucks. The deals aren’t great to begin with(5 hot wings for 7.50), and their bar clock is a half hour fast, yes half of an hour. None of items ordered in our party rang in at HH prices, even though the server watched us order from the happy hour menu. When asked about it, the server said it couldn’t be fixed. What? What kind of bullshit is that? They could have at least comped us one drink or something. I really want a nice bar in Langley. But this place? I can’t go no Mo.

Ahh… I wish this place was better. The service is great, I will say that, but the food is bad. The fries are overly greasy, the cheese used on the burgers is low quality, and the macaroni and cheese… my mother thought it was poorly prepared Kraft mac and cheese. Sad. And yeah, the fries really suck. I wish the food here was better!

August 30, 2012 update: This is probably the last time I will eat at Mo’s, at least for quite a while. The owner has complained that parking restrictions imposed by the city are driving away business(I had no problem). However, I wonder if the problem is closer to home: namely, their increasingly inconsistent and mediocre food and service. This time, I went with six friends. My thoughts: I ordered a beer, which took about 20 minutes to come. Our waitress kept bringing over our drinks one at a time, and kept saying the beer is on the way. It took so long I began to wonder if they were brewing each glass before bringing it out. It finally came, but it was a smaller size than what I ordered. For the second time, they messed up my Mushroom Swiss burger by putting peppery jack on it. I ate it because I really didn’t want to wait for another, but I did complain and they only charged me for fries and my undersized beer. A friend had the gluten-free steak pie. She had to send it back because it tasted«old.» They exchanged it for another item, but if they were paying any attention at all in the kitchen, this food would never have made it onto someone’s plate. The music was loud, fuzzy and not at all enjoyable for dining. Next time I want mind-numbing, obnoxious music, I’ll just go to a bar with a bad juke box. One would think that with time Mo’s would be working out the kinks and things would be getting better – they seem instead to be heading in the opposite direction. ************************************************************** I’ve been here three times with friends. Based on the first visits, I would have given them 4 stars, but this last visit was less than good. The service all times was good. The first time it was really crowded but we were seated and served drinks quickly, especially considering how crowded it was. The last time we went it was uncrowded and the food took longer to get to us – go figure. The three(instead of four) stars is because of the food the last visit. The fish with the fish and chips were rolled in tarragon, which is an iffy spice at best and a spice you need to take care with the amounts. The tarragon basically drowned out the much lighter flavor of the fish and was not very good. The fish was also overcook so it was dried out as well. I’m guessing no one in the kitchen had tasted this mixture or I’m sure it would have never made it out to the customers. My burger was okay, but they put the wrong kind of cheese on it. I could have sent it back, but didn’t, but I will next time if they make the same mistake. What I can’t figure out is why they would take something that is working for them – like basic, good fish and chips – and then decide to experiment and create something that is not very good? Did someone in the kitchen just up and say, «gee, I wonder how this stuff called tarragon would taste on the fish and chips? I’ll dump a bunch on to see.» Does not seem like a way to run a restaurant. We’ll probably give this place another go, but if they still have the tarragon thing happening, we’ll probably not go back.

Mo’s is across the street from my office, so I’m somewhat of a regular. This is the third or fourth version of a restaurant at this location since I moved to Langley 10 years ago. They’ve hit a great combo of full bar, English pub décor and good food. This is unpretentious food. They serve pub food, with decent burgers, and English inspired items like Bangers and Mash. I frequently get their fish and chips, an item I’ve had in both the UK and Down Under, and Mo’s is as good as those locations, minus the newsprint. Their fries are«coated» which gives them an extra crunch, which I happen to like. One thing that always surprises me is their nachos, which are stacked high with toppings such as black olives, sour cream, jalapenos and have ample melted cheese. An English pub serving up a decent order of nachos is a nice surprise. If you’re from out of town, on a bustling Friday or Saturday evening, you’ll be shoulder to shoulder with lots of locals. Having lived around the corner from the Bull & Finch, in Boston, which was the inspiration for the TV show«Cheers,» this place resonates for me with the same kind of «where everyone knows your name» vibe of that show … There’s live music on Tuesdays.

Initially I wanted to give these folks three stars, but they have enough nice little qualities going for them I had to bump them up to four. Drinks: The beer is quite reasonably priced and though they don’t have a large selection of drafts, what they do have is perfectly selected. Harp — the best lager ever, Mac & Jacks for something local, an IPA and of course Guinness. They don’t under pour on their well drinks either. They have a good happy hour with a dollar off their beers(just avoid the blue cheese poppers). Burgers: The burgers are pretty good. It’s not exactly a huge accomplishment, but I think I can easily say they have the best burger on the south side of the island. They come with great fries, but I suggest paying a couple bucks and upgrading to onion rings. The onion rings are exceptional, but they are sorely in need of a good sauce; they are served with no sauce at all. Tragic. One other thing — the bacon burger doesn’t come with cheese, you have to pay extra. That’s like fries not coming with ketchup. It’s just wrong. Irish grub: So far a «miss» on the steak and mushroom pie and a «hit» on the bangers and mash. They have a lot I still want to try, including shepherd’s pie, chicken pot pie, and fish and chips. Décor: It’s a bar. Expect a bar and you won’t be disappointed. Also they have free darts which gets them a big gold star and two huge thumbs up. They also have some lovely outdoor seating Service. Fairly quick and friendly; except for one busboy dressed in black and brooding around the bar like a dark wizard. However, its better to have extra staff than not enough so I shouldn’t complain I suppose. Cost: Probably the most affordable place to get dinner in Langley.
