We attended a Ladies Lunch as part of a wedding weekend here and I’ve got to say the staff handled our ever increasing party with grace. They don’t take reservations at all so it was a case of trickling in and finding tables we could pull together as more ladies arrived. The staff was understanding and accommodating as we rearranged their restaurant. Atmosphere is awesome, cool décor, open windows letting the ocean breeze in, quirky glasses. Food took a while, I’m assuming because we had a big party. I drank bottomless Whidbey coffee(yum) and ate a croissant bacon egg sandwich with potato side(also yum). The sandwich tasted exactly as expected for the price point and was served warm and fresh. Also the sandwich was big enough to split with my sister and we both left feeling satisfied.

I have lived on Whidbey my whole life. So when my sister wanted to throw my daughter a baby shower I thought the The Braeburn was a wonderful idea. A staff member assured my sister it would be no problem. She ordered the invitations and was then told by a manager and then the owner that they don’t take reservations in the summer at all. Now my sister is out the expense of the original invitations and needs to re-order them as we re-arrange all of the plans. It is a huge inconvenience. I personally will never go to or recommend The Braeburn to anyone ever again.

Delicious! Favorite breakfast so far this trip. I had the Saratoga omelette with the potatoes and it was a treat. I would highly recommend this shop for omelettes. The friends I was traveling with were happy as well.

The Braeburn really is as good as it gets. Fabulous and creative breakfast options, attentive and very friendly staff. Was so good that we went back for three days in a row, not bothering to explore other options. First rate and well worth patronizing.

As a Whidbey islander, stay-at-home mom/former English teacher, I treat myself to lunch at The Braeburn about twice a month. I love their Caprese sandwich — it has a blueberry pesta that is out of this world. My daughter always gets a breakfast plate, and it’s pretty good, especially the potatoes(I always snag a few off her plate.) … but I adore their house specialties… the 3-digit grilled cheese will both amaze and satisfy you. The coffee is our favorite — Whidbey Coffee — and they keep it coming. Their potato salad is awesome — and I’m from the South so I’m extremely picky about potato salad. My only complaint is, they are only open from breakfast and lunch… oh well…

Food was pretty good. I had the frittata with apple sausage, caramelized onions, cheese and arugula and skillet potatoes, husband and son both had omelettes. Service was great. Good meal.

One of the highlights of Langley. Great service and delicious breakfasts. The scrambles and omelets are favorites, and make sure to ask for the breakfast bread of the day.(Pumpkin is amazing.) Come early for less wait but it’s worth it!

I got the veggie sandwich and man that should have been on some other bread, or drain the portabellas first or something. Cole slaw was lacking flavor. I dunno, this place was just OK. my fiancée liked her veggie hash, and her mom had a tuna melt that she enjoyed, but everything needed a bit more oomph.

No doubt the food is awesome, but the service was sub-par. We had to wait additional time on top of the regular wait time for a table because 3 different servers looked in our direction and didn’t even ask if we’ve been helped yet or not. I’ve worked in all kinds of restaurants ranging from local mom and pop shops to large chain restaurants, so I know how stressful peak hours get, but at least acknowledge your guests’ presence. It takes a few seconds to make a lasting impression.

My husband and I had a fabulous breakfast at The Braeburn the morning after Halloween. It just happened to be the 5th anniversary of their current ownership. They were serving $ 5 drinks(we ordered the mimosas in mason jars… i know, right?) and $ 5 breakfast specials. Lucky us! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I ordered the granola(not a special, but so worth it.) Honey yogurt covered in delicious granola *with almonds and cashews cooked with toasted coconut* topped with blueberries and fruit on the side. It was SO delicious… I seriously can’t stop thinking about it. My hubby enjoyed a breakfast sandwich with ham, cheese and a fried egg cooked to perfection. It was delicious! In addition to the delicious food and excellent service… I really enjoyed the atmosphere of The Braeburn. Super cool art on the walls and Tin Hat Trio playing in the background made me one happy lady. I look forward to coming here again next time we are in Langley.

We got in around 3pm on a Saturday and the server immediately states they close at 4pm(which should’ve been our first clue) but said we can still have a seat. So we did. Took a quick glance at the menu and I decided on a half meat loaf sandwich and half Caesar(about $ 11). I was expecting the meat loaf sandwich to be awesome(because how can you go wrong with meat loaf right?). Welps, somehow they managed to do it. For some reason, the meatloaf tasted kind of sweet(but nothing noticeable like raisins or berries) and I noticed lots of huge chunks of bread in the meatloaf(where’s the meat in MEATloaf?). The best thing might’ve been the Caesar but I wouldn’t drive up from Seattle for this place. It was just mehhh. Nothing outstanding.

Delicious locally sourced aka organic food! Best breakfast I have had on Whidbey Excellent quality across the board. Omelette was delicious, chicken apple sausage was flavored to perfection. Blueberry + granola pancake was off the chain! Highly recommend!

Went there with the family today and we all enjoyed our meals. Service was fantastic including a warm welcome for our dog(they brought a bowl of water for him as soon as we were seated). We got the tuna melt, Saratoga omelette and buttermilk pancakes and they were all delicious. Update: we loved it so much, we went there the following day and this time we got — the pesto chicken sandwich, huevos rancheros, grilled vegetable hash and the soup of the day(potato, leak and artichoke soup). Loved them all. And oh btw, they give your dog a piece of bacon if you like!

I am updating my review from 2 stars to 3 stars. The reason is that the owner did email me and offer to make it right, as well as post a reply to my comment on Unilocal. We still stand by our review and everything that we said as that was our actual experience, but definitely appreciate the owner trying to make it right. It shows she is very conscientious about her business and wants to fix problems as they come to her attention, as well as prevent future problems from arising. I would have preferred less reasons from her as to why things happened the way they did, as they tend to sound somewhat defensive and more like excuses, but we do appreciate that she cares so much about her business. We wish her a lot of luck in this business and will probably give them another try on a future visit to Whidbey Island.

This place should not be missed if you are in Langly. I went there twice on our weekend excursion because once was not enough for me. The first time I had the grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. But this was no ordinary grilled cheese, this sandwich was made with raisin bread… what?! Crazy but so good! Creamy, gooey cheese with a bit of sweetness from the bread. Delightful! We came back for brunch the next day. It was packed and we had to wait for awhile but that’s expected for good brunch spots. They have a strawberry rhubarb bread that is to die for and again my meal was awesome & unique. If you are looking for a place with good, classic food with a creative touch, this the place for you. I’ll be back for sure.

Seriously yummy breakfast and Bloody Mary. The Saratoga was delicious. Service was friendly, patient and professional although quite slow at first even though they weren’t very busy, but they made up for it over the course of the visit. Lovely glassware from the neato glassblowing studio next door.

New ownership since the last time I visited 4 years ago. Brunch was great. Service is a bit slow but they have coloring books for the kids and are next door to a great glass blowing place. The French toast with cream cheese and apples was decadent and to die for. Omelets were also delicious. Kids meals offered great portions for both breakfast and lunch options. Yummy coffee as well. The service is friendly and helpful. Great stop for a Langley visit!

Pros: mimosa in a mason jar, friendly service, cute décor and some variety on the menu. I don’t have any cons about this place. The food was okay. I got the quick combo with a pancake. It’s eggs, bacon and pancakes people, not too much to complain about as long as all three things came out on the plate. The food was cool. Would I run to this place from the ferry? Probably not BUT if I were a local and looking for a decent breakfast that won’t break the bank, I’d stop by and leave happy.

Everything about Braeburn’s was 5 star worthy except the service speed. We went on Mother’s Day and there was a 40 min wait. No big deal since this was our first time in Langley and we used that time to get sweets n gelato. After being seated and ordering, we had to wait another 45 minutes for food. That is extremely slow for brunch, but it did sound like they were training new cooks in the kitchen. I was tempted to give this place 3 stars but the food really made up for the long wait. The staff were all friendly, but it did seem like they were rushing the diners a bit to make up for the slow service.

We love you Braeburn! Today we enjoyed a delicious lunch with wonderful service and nice ambiance. We had the caprese sandwich with a side of potato salad and the pot roast sandwich with a side of roasted potatoes. Everything was just right. We’re lucky to have a sweet spot like this in our sweet town :) I wouldn’t change a thing.
