Chill atmosphere. Laid back. Good happy hour drinks prices (ask). Cute bar staff. Pool tables. Have yet to eat here. Feeling the vibe and the people.

I actually enjoyed this place. I went on a Friday, the music was good and the size of the place is pretty spacious. It may become somewhat uncomfortable for those who may not enjoy a predominantly men atmosphere (disclaimer). Having a lot of men in a atmosphere could be good or bad for women like me. I do say for those who haven’t been to support local businesses and provide suggestions. I would suggest that the front entrance be cleared and have no people just standing around since it’s somewhat a deterrence when trying to visit for the first time. I gave 4 stars since I liked the music and selections but the entrance area with those who just want to «hang» outside sets my choice to 4 stars instead of 5. Overall this place has great potential!

This place needs ALOT of improvement. Service is awful. food is sub-par…service is awful… what they show on the TVs is wack… service is awful… Ive heard of .25 or .50 wings, but .59 wings WTH is that? Oh, did I mention the servie is awful.
Sad part about it all is that it could be a really nice sports bar type spot… has potential, maybe needs new management. *shrug*

The name of the place is actually «Big Daddy’s Bar and Barbecue».
I work not far from here, and have gone in a few times with some co-​workers for lunch. I’ve never experienced the bar part of it, since that’s only for nightlife, but during the day it’s cavernous and pretty empty. The only reason I can guess for this is that the service is SOOOOOOO slow, most people will call ahead and order take out rather than eat there. I mean, if you’re one of those people who can take a 2 – 3 hour lunch, then by all means wait til you’re there to order your food, sit back, and relax. But if you’re like the rest of us and actually have WORK to do during the day, call ahead.
The food in general is good, not great, but I go back for no other reason than to get their collard greens and mac & cheese. Really… I don’t even care what kind of meat they throw on the plate with it, these two sides are worth the wait. Portions are pretty good size, so you won’t go away hungry. You may starve while you’re WAITING for your food, but once you get it, you’ll be happy.

This bar is the newest contribution to nightlife in Lanham. It’s in a shopping center that replaced many other bar/​restaurants including Langway’s back in the 80s. Now you may see the sign out front that says «Big Daddy’s Bar and Barbecue» but this is a bar, period. It’s one big square room with a DJ in front by the door and a bar n the back, with a few tables and room for a dance floor. If you want a place for drinks or dancing in Lanham, here you are. However, the liquor store next door seemed much more poular. If you have enough gas in the car to get somewhereelse, I say go for it.
