I am a red lobster baby for sure. Growing up as a child my parents would take my sister and I to Red Lobster for all special occasions and on Sunday’s when my mom needed a break from cooking. Since I was a child I have been Red Lobster connoisseur. So I know how most things on the menu should taste at their best. I have come to this location one a month for the past 6 months since I relocated to this area. I giving them three stars because my past times here were great. Friendly servers and well prepared food. But tonight it was completely HORRIBLE! Cold food and the lobster was definitely not prepared correctly. I send items back and they still came back to me WRONG. I complained to the manager and it still was not corrected. Plus I waited almost hour to get my food. My waitress was nice. But outside of that my experience here tonight was miserable… hopefully I can find another location.

Where do I start? Service: Rex, our server, forgot to bring everything save for the drinks and main course. We had to remind him of everything. They ran out of chicken finger for two of my little ones and I found out when our main course was brought to the table. My side salads we served after the main course. We had several side orders brought to our table that did not belong to us. Food: All of the food was over cooked. We ordered calamari with vegetables and it was horribly over cooked and there was more scraps of batter on my plate than actual calamari. We ordered 3 Admiral Platters and the taste of everything on the plate was deplorable.

Called ahead for«reservations» for party of 6 and I was told I had to wait another 20 minutes. After 30 minutes of waiting I was told that we had to wait another 20 mins to be seated because another party had been waiting longer. I reiterated that I had made a reservation and the host then repeated they had been waiting a long time. So I wanted him clarify for my edification, the definition of reservation because I thought that it meant when you got there… On time you were seated and he then clarified that it was not a reservation calling just put your name on the waiting list. So they DONOTTAKERESERVATIONS, that is a untruth. I then stood there another 20 minutes and watched Armando the host. Eat cheddar biscuits and talk to a girl in a party of people that came in after us but we’re seated before us I guess you have to have short skirts and fake hair in order to be seated in this establishment.

My Red Lobster experience was the worst! Hour plus long wait for a table for 5, wasn’t a good start. Took forever for biscuits & water. Waitress didn’t understand the difference between a medium & medium well steak. Worst part was the rude manager, Art Magee, who showed poor customer service. I’ll tKe my $ somewhere else, next time. Beyoncé should promote a better establishment. Red Lobster is not the spot anymore!

My waitress was excellent but the food portions are terrible. I got the pick two meal so I ordered the fried flounder and the Walt’s favorite shrimp. The amount of Shrimp was ok but they gave me two very small pieces of fish. When I complained about it to the manager he said that that was the portion and their was nothing that he could do about it. What! Then he gave me the take it or leave it option… smh Needless to say he is going to get complained about. I am going to corporate.

Won’t be coming back. Waitress was awesome and very apologetic for me having to wait an hour for a cold meal. I ordered the salmon, lobster, and skewered shrimp with broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potato which was extra. Definitely not the cheapest meal. The poor waitress had no idea what was taking the kitchen so long and finally offered me a comp garden salad. Luckily I wasn’t in a huge hurry and was very patient. When my meal finally arrived, it was barely warm. In fact the sweet potato was room temperature. However, the seafood showed signs of being overlooked. Rubbery lobster and shrimp. And cakey salmon. Not flakey moist salmon. After relaying all this to the waitress and telling her I know it wasn’t her fault, she got the manager to offer me free dessert and something off the check. Rather than the manager coming over to take care of this, the poor waitress had to be the one to deliver the news. I chose to skip the dessert. So all I got was $ 5.00 off the bill. Never once did the manager show his or her face. So I won’t be back. Ever.

A co-worker and I decided to go after work for endless shrimp. It was a Monday night at around 8:30pm. We were greeted by the hostess who was nice and polite and we were immediately seated. Our table was clean, however there was trash like straw wrappers and napkins on the floor. It appeared like they were hit with a weekend dinner rush but I don’t think that was the case. We waited 15 minutes and not one server came to our table. We weren’t even looking at the menus because we knew what we wanted. We tried to make eye contact with some of the servers to indicate that we were ready to order and to figure out which one was ours. At this point I was getting upset and my co-worker and I discussed that maybe we should go next door to Jerry’s and get a steak and cheese or pizza. However, we had been looking forward to endless shrimp for most of the day and I was determined to get it. I grabbed the menus and said to my co-worker, ‘let’s go to the bar’. I handed the menus to the hostess and said that we were going to sit at the bar. By this time, a server, probably the one that should’ve been ours comes up and asks are we ok? And what was the matter? I just told him, that we would rather sit at the bar. I was already irritated and rather point out that we had been sitting at the table waiting to put in our orders for anything, we just decided to sit at the bar. At first, there was an 2 open spots at the bar but just needed to be cleaned. It took a few minutes for the bartender to clean our spots. She looked overwhelmed. It appears that she was the only bartender. She had to get drinks for the servers while waiting on 3 – 4 groups of 2 patrons. Now, this is how a one star review turns into a 4 star. The bartender took our orders and brought everything out in a timely manner. The food was very good and she refilled our shrimp orders accordingly. I made sure to find out her name to put in this review because she saved this review from being a poor review. Her name is Ama. The next time I come to this Red Lobster, I’ll be looking for her at the bar area. Bottom line, I’ve been coming to this location for over 10 years and some things I’ve noticed are: The food has been consistently good throughout the years. I can’t recall having a bad meal here. I’ve had issues with service at this location throughout the years. They seemed to be under staffed at times. I’ll be back again but I think I’ll just sit at the bar from now on.

Everything was good until the waitress we had forgot that we already have her out cards for payment then father she found out cards she didn’t split the bill like we asked and she also never came back to the table after her mistake the manager had to come over and explain what happened… I hadn’t been to this red lobster in a while and now I remember why the customer service isn’t that good to me probably won’t be going back any time soon

Everything is fine seated quick. My only problem is that they need to get in control of all the flies and Nats that just fly around freely. It’s a restaurant. Seriously? Near the bar at that. Get it together people.

I went to this Red Lobster off a whim and boy do I regret it! Straight to the point; here’s how dinner went… I was immediately seated. Took about 15 minutes for a waiter to come over. Melka(waiter) comes over and takes my order. I wanted Mussels but was quickly informed that they ran out about 30 minutes before. Instead I ordered the Lobster-Artichoke-and-Seafood Dip and a Long Island Ice Tea to start. The dip had a lot of lobster, good amount of spinach and artichoke. It was pretty good. The Long Island was good. For my main meal I ordered the Crab Lover’s Dream which had Wild-caught North American snow crab legs, split king crab legs, and crab linguini Alfredo. Choice of 1 side. I made the horrible mistake of ordering loaded(lobster sauce, butter, etc) mashed potatoes. It was not appealing to the eye at all! Tasted it and literally gagged. It was just straight up nasty. Like instant mashed potatoes with mush… I don’t know. All of the crab legs were just ok. The meat was sweet but the shell was dried out. Basically they cooked it too long. Customer service went surprisingly well especially considering it looked like our Waiter was super busy because he was working our area and 2 other areas. They were clearly short staffed but he did good keeping up with our order and even remembered to bring back butter and refill drinks. Unfortunately the favorite part of my meal was the dip and biscuits. Sad because I want to like Red Lobster so bad but man this location has truly gone down hill. They need new management, re-train there staff and/or get new staff… just start over because clearly they need help. Let’s start with the cooks

My family went to this place to celebrate a birthday. I wish we had gone somewhere else. While the waitress was good and very attentive, the rest was terrible. The food was okay, to say the least. My daughter ordered a medium well steak… it was well done and tough as leather, I never got my vegetables. Then my 83 year old grandmother ordered salmon… they bought her talapia. Then, she sat there THEENTIRETIMEWEATE and waited for her food. It came once we were all practically done. I insisted on it being comped which they did do. We had to ask for eating utensils as well. The didnt have any. The restaurant seemed clean but the staff is completely discombobulated and unorganized. I wasnt really a fan of them before, I’m definitely not now. We all said we would never eat at Red Lobster again.

disgusting. The tables are dirty. The bathroom is absolutely atrocious. The mussels were cold. We had to wait around for a hostess. Never coming here again.

What a mess. Came here with a large group of people from work. As we waited for a table I walked to the bar — where I stood until the table was ready as the bartender was on the computer and phone with her back turned. She never even knew I was there. When we finally sit we eat the bread without drinks because they didn’t provide the water for a long time. Once they stared serving drinks I realized they had no organization to us being served. They resorted to walking around while yelling the order for someone to claim it. We also had to stack all the salad plates and menus and place them at another table to clear space because they were not removing them. To beat the rush of getting the check(and leaving ASAP) I walked to the bar and asked to pay for my check as one of my coworkers had. The bartender who previously ignored me snaps her fingers at me and says«oh no we’re not doing that here now» and called the manager who then politely rang me up. The baked potato was salty, the fish was mush. This place isn’t worth the gas it takes to drive there.

Our family of 6 came here for my mom’s birthday lunch this weekend. We had a good time. The wait staff were absolutely wonderful! They were patient with us and allowed us to get seated even though we were missing a few people. I had the Wood Grilled Shrimp Tacos and my parents had the Admiral’s Feast. My 3 year old niece had the chicken fingers. Our waitress was even kind enough not to include too much ice to my niece’s drink, as she was afraid she may choke on it. I have no complaints… maybe we picked a good day to come? It was a Saturday at noon. I recommend.

I stopped by in this location for a to go order. I ordered a pasta which doesn’t really take long to make it, but I waited for half an hour. Half an hour for a pasta? That’s ridiculous! The place was literally empty. Horrible service. I do not recommend this place.

Terrrrrribbblllle… Lobby: smelled like a sour dishrag. Waitress: had to be hunted down to remind her of requests made(I.e. Drinks, condiments). Her attitude: totally unprofessional and sarcastic to say the least. Prices: let’s say it this way, I ate at Clyde’s restaurant the day before and the bill was less than Red Lobster, really?

This is the beauty of Unilocal… being able to post and compare your experiences with other diners to see what the similariites and differences are. Using that information to hopefully help an unsuspecting soul make an informed choice(for better or worse) when they go to that particular establishment. I say all that to say… WOW! I’m surprised this place got so many positive reviews. Glowing ones even! In the words of Herm Edwards…“HELLO!“ This place was and is horrible in my opinion. I’m perplexed as to why Bowie and Upper Marlboro(middle to upper class areas) do not have a Red Lobster and have to come to Lanham, which doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. Sadly, the environment is a reflection of this restaurant. Staff is pathetically bad and really would prefer that you not be there. They are consistently slow, rude and apathetic. Food is not fresh and poorly prepared. Remember when you were a kid and thought that Red Lobster was the Taj Mahal of restaurants? This location serves notice that today’s youth won’t be thinking that!
