So as we began the final leg of our journey back home after our weekend junket to DC, we were starving and unfortunately the bright lights of the Friendly’s sign happened to appear as if on cue. So giving in to the need to eat just about anything we turned in and hoped for the best. Seeing as the place was fairly deserted this late on a Sunday night we were seated right away and our interesting server«R» ambled over and got our drink order. He was back quick enough with our drinks and our food order was taken right away leading to a surprisingly strong beginning. The food order took a fairly long time to appear as «R» starting getting more worried about cleaning other tables, schlepping silverware, and disappearing more than he was worried about getting us our food or making more tip money as he was telling the other servers that he didn’t care about any new customers that were coming in and that they should just take his tables. Eventually the food came and it was your typical Friendly’s slop: Light on flavor but messy as hell. Unfortunately our meals came with ice cream and after placing the order with«R» he disappeared yet again for what seemed like a good ten plus minutes. Finally he reappeared with a tray of silverware and after seeing that we didn’t have our ice cream yet he began bellowing that he wanted someone to run it out to us since he couldn’t. One of the other servers finally did but needless to say the ice cream was partially melted by that point from sitting around. The check not surprisingly made a very quick appearance and at least«R» was able to swipe our CC in under half an hour. (Kudos to the GM/MOD for allowing the employees to sit at an empty table in the back of the restaurant and loudly talk about their personal business and kudos to her for loudly talking about her staffing issues since the majority of her servers were returning to school soon. That’s your problem not the dining public’s problem. You should be far more worried about the dining room having more employees sitting in booths than customers and the place looking more like a social club for the staff.)

This one had no choices in the freezer section of take-home ice cream and cakes. SLOW service… nobody cares.

I’ve never actually had an problems when eating inside the restaurant, but please, DONOTGOTOTHEICECREAMWINDOW! The girls that work this window are slow, rude, and act like it is a hassle to do their job. God forbid you be trying to decide what you want when they are ready to take your order(after you waited at the window for 5 minutes staring in while she is chatting with another waitress). The last time we were here, my bf felt so rushed by her that he ordered something he didn’t even want because she was giving him«the stare». The time before this, we got there at 9:40, and they close at 10. We waited, trying to get someone’s attention for like 5 minutes. When she finally came to the window, my bf asked if we could get some ice cream, and her response was«We’re closing». So he was like, «okay, so no?» And she just stared at us, and finally I was like, never mind I guess. Get to the car and see its only like 9:48, she totally could have made us some damn sundaes! Friendly’s should try to employ more adults.

Don’t go to this Friendly’s :\ There’s way too many teenagers & college kids working there.(and for me being 22yrs old saying this is baaad!) My boyfriend & I went more than enough times for lunch & dinner to see that maybe about half of them that always served us were fooling around too much, therefore, 30+ minutes would go by before we’d get our food. WAY too long. That, or the chefs are WAY too slow when it comes to cooking. Also for some reason, the food is absolutly tasteless. I’ve tried a good deal of things on the menu, and the only thing I’ve eatten that has any flavor are the so called«homefries» that are just fried potato balls. Noone knows how to make Home Fries right! But still, the service is veeerrry slow and highly unprofessional.
