Jacobs Wood Apartments

We’re in a three bedroom unit and love it! Never any noise from anyone and the staff takes care of so much.

I just moved away from Jacob’s Woods after living here for about a year and a half. I’ll definitely miss it. Apartment layouts are spacious and include patio/​balcony and garage parking. Maintenance staff is seriously as good as it gets both keeping the grounds in order and responding to tenants’ needs. Office staff probably won’t win any awards for friendliness (with the exception of the receptionist), but they’re hard-​working people who take the happiness of their tenants seriously. The concierge service is a nice plus along with the pool, hot tub, etc.
The community is made up of a lot of retirees along with a number of families with young children. I really appreciated living somewhere that wasn’t overrun with 20-​somethings hosting lots of loud parties, as is so often the case.
It’s a great location, minutes from both the tollway and commuter rail.
Notable negatives: 1) the buildings are typical apartment construction, which means that noise does carry through from neighboring apartments to some extent. It was never very loud or enough to be annoying, but it did exist. 2) the Hatfield meat packing plant is very close by, and sometimes the stench wafts over this part of town. It never affected our apartment, but you can sometimes catch an unpleasant whiff when standing outside. A rare but unpleasant consequence of living in this part of town.
Overall, I was sad to leave Jacob’s Woods and would definitely recommend it!
