Only reason I didn’t give 5 was I didn’t have enough time to shop more. But the bit I did I see I liked. Will return.

I love a good thrift store. Let’s be clear — this is not a good thrift store. The number one thing I go thrifting for is clothing, and the selection here is vast, I will give them that. Unfortunately, almost everything has either holes or gross stains of dubious origin, and nothing is organized; things lay in woebegotten piles on the floor. Speaking of the floor, it looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed since the store opened. The windows are grimy, the light bulbs have a thick film of dust coating them, and the place has a general air of neglect. I once made the mistake of desperately needing to urinate while I was in here. The bathroom doesn’t bear speaking of, but I will anyway — it looked like an abatoir. Brown, sticky stains covered every surface, as though someone had been violently murdered with a salad shooter in there a few years ago. The toilet had been thoughtfully adorned with several coarse black hairs, and there were no paper products to speak of, nor do I believe the room had ever been graced by the presence of soap. It was the number one most horrifying bathroom I have ever been in, and I have been to French campsites. Do not come here if you value your immune system or your sanity.

This place is wild. If you like records, this is like heaven — he knows what’s good, and doesn’t sell everything terribly cheap, but isn’t expensive, either. I got 5 Elvis Costello records here, in great shape, for $ 2 a pop, which is not bad. The clothing is hard to get through, but kind of fun to root around in. The housewares are super disorganized, but that’s half the fun. Places that are well organized lose their good items quickly: if you’re willing to roll up your sleeves and dig around, you can find some real gems. Love this place!

I’m giving three stars because of how disorganized it is and how hard it is to figure out the prices of most household items… I went here twice last week, got fourteen shirts the first time, primarily vintage silky button down tops, some little tops to go over other tops… The second time I went back I bought roughly ten pr of jeans, which were .75cents a peice. Winning!* I plan on making tote bags out of some, and experimenting with destroying some of the others :) I also got glass bottles for the top of a bar for my best friend at two and three dollars ea. The employees are great here, very nice & talkative.

The Attic Secondhand Superstore is large, dimly lit and rather messy inside. They had perhaps the largest collection of VHS tapes I had ever seen. During my first visit to the store I picked up a number of trading cards, priced at five cents apiece. Nothing in the store was priced, so I had to ask an employee how much certain items cost. It took me a whole to even find an employee walking by. Even so, I had a pleasant enough experience that I decided to return a few days later. During my second visit however when I wanted to pick out some more trading cards from several large bins, the same bins as before, the same employee I had encountered previously told me that the cards were twenty-five cents apiece, as opposed to five. When questioning the change in price, I was told that I had been given the cheaper price previously because, according to him, the store had been busier and perhaps he hadn’t the time to count each card out individually. I was then informed that I could not receive the cards for that same price this time, which came as a real bummer to me considering I had traveled over an hour just to reach The Attic. After explaining my dissatisfaction I left the store with a sour taste in my mouth. What really irked me was the employee’s condescending attitude towards me when questioning the price and then his unwillingness to stand by his prices or cooperate with a customer. Working in retail myself, I was trained to avoid and mend these sorts of situations.
