MJ’s Massage Studio

This was my first professional massage and while it was enjoyable I don’t think i’ll be getting one again. I purchased a groupon for a 60 min massage and I had to call several times to get an appointment. I was even told that someone would call me back after they checked their schedule and that never happened.
Overall I was not a huge fan of the location but it seemed clean and MJ was nice. I don’t know what I expected but this wasn’t it.

If you’re looking for aesthetics, the building is old, you have to walk up to the third floor and there is no modern décor. But if you’re looking for a truly great massage, MJ does not disappoint! This was the best massage I have ever received and will be going back again soon! MJ is knowledgable and does not short change on time. You will receive every minute you pay for!

I have been there three times. The first two was absolutely great. An amazing 60 minute massage that completely solved my back pain. The third time (a different person) I had a mediocre experience. They were running late so I was asked to push back my appointment 15 minutes. (100% no problem) but then the masseuse still ended the same time making it a 45 minute massage. (if I’m late, that’s fair. But why am I penalized for others tardiness?)
I could forgive that but she did not get out or really try to get out my knot that was keeping me up at night. I asked several times. She said she did but 1. There was no popping sound that I’ve had before as the toxins leave. 2. She did not spend extra time there even though I said if that knot took the whole hour, that’s fine. It was my only goal and any extra time can be for the rest.
Since I really don’t have money for massage (emergency basis only) I think I’ll try somewhere that I can get consistent results.
However, I hope mj business is successful. He seems very sweet and like he enjoys his business.

I highly recommend MJ. He is very attentive and knows the body well. He has been helping to heal my sciatica and he is doing a great job.

I recently purchased a groupon for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. The office was clean and sparsely decorated but the service was comprehensive and the therapist attentive. He even spent some time at the end of the session showing me stretches that I could do to help loosen some of my muscles that were very tight. I would recommend checking it out!
