Dimitri’s Restaurant

The restaurant appears clean. 3 out of the last 3 times I have either eaten or attempted to eat here either, 1. «We don’t have that» or 2.“We don’t do that on carry out” or 3. «Yes, we are open but no, we don’t have that.» Waitresses have acted like I was imposing on them with my questions or inconveniencing them with my business. So, «No, I will not be coming back. Ever.»

Food is generally good, yet the waitress gave me the impression I was inconveniencing her when picking up my takeout order. The first time, I thought perhaps it was just me. The second visit showed it was a pattern.

I ate here while getting my phone fixed at Genius Phone Repair which is in the same strip mall. Their Reuben was to die for! Their homemade sauce was the best I have had… almost makes me want to break my phone again so I have an excuse to come back for another one :)

Stopped for breakfast. Ample parking, roomy with a typical diner feel. Prices are good for the Lansing area. The breakfast burrito was very good and the coffee a bit above average IMO. Locals seem to like this place which is a good sign.

This was a good quality breakfast. The water was clean and filtered. The eggs were excellent quality. The toast was just average. The meat is good. I would come back. It is a good price and a good place to eat.

Excellent service and the food was prepared well and tasty. My choice was the Cornbeef hash omelet which came with some of the best American fries I had in a long time. The restaurant was clean.

The best coffee, service and eggs anyway you want them inter entire town by far super clean too!

On business, and overall experience just ok. Friendly service with a local feel. I ordered the corn beef hash and eggs which tasted fresh. Wasn’t the best breakfast I’ve had, but good none the less.

Yes the service here can be questionable at times, but the food is great. I may prefer this over the other hyped up breakfast place in lansing. It doesn’t have a very creative menu, but they do the basics very well. Biscuits and gravy came in a large portion and were very good.

It’s clean and neat. The hours are breakfast and lunch and it has an American diner feel and theme. The menu is typical and what I’d expect.
I came in and was dryly greeted. I felt like I should have walked in the back door. I seated myself. I got a bad vibe walking in. Well I walked in at 12:40. In passing, not a stop/​greeting/​welcome the waitress plopped the menu on my table and hollered her request for my drink order. She didn’t crack a smile.
Water, brought with no straw. I reviewed the menu, found something appealing, proceeded to keep my head up for the waitress. She walked by quickly four times seemingly avoiding eye contact. The food runner was a bit more friendly. I approached the counter to ask if I could order. I noticed my waitress jaw jacking with someone who was important enough to sit in a section that I was told was closed.
A few moments later she came to take my order. Food was brought out for others and I waited about 15 mins before I asked could I have my food to go and pay. I was told it wasn’t close to being ready. I left clarifying that I had no more time to wait.
The service is curt here, I probably will not be returning.
Two stars because I didn’t get to try the food and it was the waitress that ruined my experience.

Being from the Lansing area there are not many places where I can find a family style restaurant with great service. Dimitri’s Restaurant has been around for awhile and have been famously know for there coney dogs at there previous location. I heard about the place from my dad so I gave it a shot and was not disappointed. There coney dogs are great along with amazing fries. They have so much variety on the menu. I will be looking forward to getting breakfast my next visit.
