Despite the somewhat negative tone in the more recent reviews, this store is everything a used game shop should be. The clerk was friendly and super knowledgeable, with a good gaming pedigree. The store was packed with videogames from every era, with systems and old guides to boot. A little lacking in the current generation, but it’s hard to compete with Gamestop. That musty smell, that’s a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.

Seeing that Lansing has a few video game stores that aren’t GameStop, I was interested to see what this place had to offer. Sadly, I have to agree with the other negative reviews. The man who was working was very inattentive to the people in his store. The shop is small, smelled of stale cigarettes and the lack of lighting made it feel like I was in a cave, almost had to bust out a flashlight when I got to the back of the store. Small amount of games per section and the prices were average. Grabbed a few things on the cheaper end, but nothing special. Don’t ever see myself returning to this store anytime soon.

Rude homeless looking man behind the counter! Over priced games and a very small selection. Head down the street to disk traders.

Definitely not the best selection or prices in Lansing. Employees are rude and not helpful. Go down the street to Disc Traders.

Excellent selection of vintage video games; the best I’ve ever seen. Their collection of current-gen games is sparse. They do repairs on old systems, so if you have an old NES hanging around, this might be the place to go. Owner is extremely nice and helpful and the other employees are knowledgeable but grumpy. Seems like they have to deal with more than their fair share of stupid punks and stubborn customers, so I can’t really hold it against them. Go here if you would love to rediscover a childhood memory or long-lost title. Highly recommended.

Howdy Folks, this is Doug the Food Critic here, I know my title is ‘The Food Critic’ but I just had to let you know of yet another astonishing Lansing gem; Game-Hits Game Store. Their motto at Game-Hits is, well there’s two I think, the first, most published one(ie there’s a poster of it on the front door) is: «We Want You To Sell Your Games At Game Hits» the other which can be found on their website is even more agreeable being«We’re Serious About Fun». I like that, I like how people are serious about fun, no bs, just fun. In the store there’s at least one person working at all times, sometimes even two. Usually the cashier(s)(who I think also own the business) can be seen watching Star Trek or wrestling, and having conversations with the patrons about all sorts of video-game and sci-fi tidbits. Not only will you find a person working in the store but you’ll also find a huge stock pile of very rare to not so rare video-game paraphernalia from games to books to game guns/controllers and memory cards. They actually do it all at Game-Hits, I could list all of the systems that they cater to,(unlike civilizations new toy stores EB Games or Game Stop) but the list would go on and on, yeah remember the 3DO? or the Commodore 64? They got you covered. Over at Game-Hits video games aren’t only a hobby, it’s a way of life, which will become clearly evident at the moment of entry. Once you find what you’re looking for, and take your recently found piece of treasure to the cash register jockey, they’re all business and don’t screw around. It seems like the 2nd motto should be: «We’re Serious About Fun & Good Service» If you play videya games and live in the middle of michigan(there’s even a Game-Hits in Muskegon!) then get EB Games’ Wii Joystick from out of your ass and get to Game-Hits! PS I am definitely not a paid spokesman, I just want to see great Lansing based businesses and Restaurants get plugged! Doug the Food Critic Slagging Off.
