I have tried Hilltop, Yoga State, and East Lansing Hot Yoga and I can say with absolute confidence that Hilltop is the best studio in the area that I have tried. At this studio, they have not sold out into the incorrect hype that hotter is better. They heat the studio gently but it never feels like it’s hotter than 85 or so at Hilltop, and you can get a great workout physically and spiritually without feeling like you’re about to have a heat stroke. If you are serious about yoga, and not just yoga as a workout fad, I highly recommend Hilltop. I was sad that they closed the Haslett location!

The Old Town studio is not close to my house, but well worth the drive. How wonderful that they have free and $ 5 classes. Great instructors; very well trained. Very Zen place.

I was anxious about joining my wife but selected and really enjoyed a beginner’s class. Great space on two floors in Old Town.

Great yoga studio. Both Haslett and Old Town spaces are very nice, wonderful instructors, and a broad range of classes. The 30 days for $ 30 intro special is an incredible deal.

Love this place! There are so many instructors you can definitely find your favorites(Misty and Rose). The owner is so nice and considerate! I had surgery and was unable to do yoga for several months, so she suspended the classes I had left(which usually need to be used within 6 months) and let me finish taking them when I was ready to do yoga again! The atmosphere is unique and very zen in an old brick building in Old Town, but they also have a studio in Haslett. Class times are numerous so it is easy to work into my schedule! Their 30 days for $ 30 deal definitely got me hooked on this studio and helped me learn to love yoga. Great people! Great business! Love!

I love this studio. Great variety of classes– just be sure you are very clear about the level of class you are going to. Some instructors can be more intense than others. I also wish that the instructors took more time to get to know me if I am new to them. I have often come into the studio and felt like the odd girl out of a clique that I cannot get into because I am not a teacher with them– teachers are way too chatty with other teachers. Instructors, go to coffee with each other once in a while, take the time in studio to get to know me/students so you can be the best teacher you can be.

Hilltop Old Town is a good yoga studio with a big student base. The classes are accommodating for various skill levels. I think Misty and Belinda are two of the best instructors at Hill Top.

Serious and spiritual, Hilltop Yoga delivers power vinyasa and community. Check out the class schedule which offers something for everyone of every level. Fun part of town at the Old Town studio. The original studio in Haslett is also a fun space to practice in.

Hilaire rocks. Her little studio on the hill is the source of enormous inspiration, happiness and peace to all of us who practice there. A cancer-survivor and mother, Hilaire is a dynamic force who knows everyone’s name and makes us all feel welcome. Almost all classes are for all levels, and would make a great place to start out if you haven’t practiced yoga before. On Saturdays, the 8.30AM class is free, and the 5.30PM class only $ 5, so all the more reason to just come and try. [Update, Aug 30th: Hilaire is opening a second studio in October in Lansing’s Old Town. Watch this space…]
