Lansing Bakery

This is a small little place, which features both a small Hispanic bakery section (with the usual trays and tongs, labeled in English, so you know you’re getting a guava or a pineapple turnover) plus the standard American goodies (elephant ears; muffins; cookies; etc.). If you order 24 hours in advance you can get paczki (sp?), Polish doughnuts in multiple flavors.
I had a couple of oversized macaroons, a frosted scone (2 flavors available), and a couple of petits fours. This ran me under $ 5. The petits fours, surprisingly, were multiple layers of jam, cake and cream underneath the candy coating. I found them oversweet but my companion liked them a lot. Attractively frosted in a variety of colors. The macaroons were OK but not great; the scone wasn’t very flavorful but had the most amazing tender crumb.
Worth a stop if you’re in the area.
