This store is huge! They put new things out all the time. Their book section is large, and organized by genre which is helpful! Their prices are great, cheap and affordable. They have new carpets too! I have yet to find anything in the clothing section that I like, and their shoe section is mighty small. I like their home section, and their furniture has a quick turnover rate(& great prices!) I always find some cute pictures or wall art when I’m here! Definitely one of the better thrift stores in the area. The staff is super nice too!

I personally prefer my thrift stores with a little less Jesus in them(hard to find, I know), but this one is okay. It’s a lot dingier than other ones in the area(like the Goodwill down the street), the clothes are not worth digging through, IMO, and the housewares are usually pretty horrific, but the books are worth the extra bottle of hand sanitizer you’ll need in your pocket for the search. Gone are the days of their $ 1 bag sale for books on Wednesdays, but it’s still worth looking even at «full» price. I have found so many weird, random, FANTASTIC books there, and being the bibliophile I am, I have pressed countless frantic dollar bills into their hands as a result. Great for used books without all the pretense of so many used book stores.

this is just about the best place to thrift shop in the lansing area. if you don’t find what you’re looking for(or what you didn’t know you were looking for), you can always try the VOA across the street. good deals, good selection, some real gems in this place.

I would have nothing bad to say about Valueland… except that they have this tiny golden statue there that i want… I WANT. This is all well and good, but they will not sell it to me without its counterpart. I do not want the counterpart… nor do i want to spend 20 $ on two golden statues, one of which i dont want. Anyway…They have a pretty decent selection of clothes and a wonderful selection of nic nacs. I vote yes.

While you’re not going to find any vintage Dior here(if you have… that is quite the shocker), you can find some really unique clothes minus the name brand label. it is the same as any second hand store… racks and racks of clothes that you SWEAR you saw your second grade teacher wearing, but the payoff is well worth the search. Also, the last Tuesday of the month, I believe it is fifty percent off all merch. not too shabby when the price tag is only $ 2.99 to begin with. They also have dressing rooms for those daring to try before they buy without washing the clothes first. Last time I was there I found a Marushka wall art piece that is hanging in my apartment as I speak… people always ask me where I got this coveted namesake piece… Yeah, Valueland… where it truly is a land of values.
