Growing up in Philly, water ice was pretty much a reward after every soccer practice or little league game. Of course the weather didn’t always permit it, but when it did, there was nothing better than scarfing down some cherry water ice. There is no better treat on a hot sunny down than that. Every bite was heaven, like hearing Summertime by Fresh Prince play on repeat. I’ve known about this place for awhile but rarely am I out in Lantana, and why would I be really? It’s Lantana ya know. But coming back from the Palm Beach Zoo, my son really wanted it. They had a cart at the zoo but no cherry, so like the World’s Greatest Dad that I am, I told him, hold on kiddo I got you. After a 10 minute drive we ended up at Philadelphia Water Ice. Seeing the Ryan Howard jersey hang from the window immediately made me feel at home. Retro Philly signs that only a Philadelphian would appreciate. Unfortunately, it seemed as if I only saw country bumpkins walk up in this place and knowing them, they probably think Philadelphia, Mississippi. The lone counter girl was super friendly. Even asked if I wanted my water ice filled up more. Shiiitt little lady, no reason to ask a question you already know the answer. But I appreciate the offer, which means automatic tip. They have a bunch of different water ice flavors and some ice cream. I don’t get that whole ice cream on top. I know Rita’s used to do that but never in all my years did I see people eat it like that in Philly. Why mix dairy and water? Its disrespectful to the ice if you ask me. It was a great treat and if I’m ever in that area I’ll make it a point to stop by again.

I am so excited to have discovered this place with Brenna R. We left downtown Lake Worth and were driving back home and we spotted this little gem. We went inside and looked over the large selection of Italian ices available. The girl behind the counter(with an amazing personality!) allowed us to sample a few before making our decision. I ended up choosing multiple fruity flavors and Brenna chose the coffee flavored ones. This place is amazing. There really isn’t much more to say about it. It’s a small location with a large selection. The girl behind the counter was amazing. Her personality seriously just glowed. I will definitely be back to try out more flavors. P. S. the mango had real chunks of mango in it. AMAZING!
