First time there for valentine’s dinner and LAST time there !!! Not only was my $ 20 chicken kiev cold in the middle but it clearly came from a frozen box probably meijer or gfs !! Then while drinking my coffee there appeared to be a nasty ring inside the cup that was slimy and I wiped of with my finger. Disgusting never going back

I wouldn’t return to this place if it were the last restaurant on earth. It’s the only placewhere I’ve walked out of without paying. We were served our soup and a drink and we waited more than an hour four food before leaving.

You can take me out of the Midwest, but you can’t take the Midwest out of me. As such, I react well to certain word combinations like sack instead of bag, pop instead of soda, and Supper Club(with or without Chanhassen dinner theater-life entertainment). The drive out here seemed long, dark, and slow, but eventually a lone and nicely lit countryside building came into view. I walked in, reviewed the evening special, and figured that my red meat quota for the month would be filled in just one evening. Plus the $ 19.95 steak dinner special looked really good. By the way, this special was good for the entire evening and was not to be confused with another Midwest term — Early Bird Special. Actually, I was here on the early side and for a short time I was probably the youngest person in the room. However, the dining area filled in quickly enough, and before I could say«This is great service!», my meal was on the table, all hot and tasty. That included salad and bread sticks with a signature cheese spread. Add some red wine and caution about blood alcohol level, and I had a fine meal. Gayle would enjoy this place too, as would Mom and Dad. So just in case, I signed up for the e-newsletter for special events and specials. I head back to the Hotel, stuffed, guilty for my relative gluttony, and wondering when I could do it again.

I try to only write positive reviews, but my family’s experience here was beyond poor — and we’re an easy-going bunch. The food was alright, but the bar and service were unbelievable. I hope others have a better experience than we did.

Great dinner last night after the ND victory over Wake Forest. Food was very good as usual and the waitress was outstanding… I’ll be back for sure!

Kind of pricey for the quality of the food we ate tonight. Had almost no salt pepper or seasoning on the stuffed mushrooms and the prime rib. Had to taste the prime rib due to everyone having great reviews and it being a restaurant specialty but was not impressed at all. I had the special fish of the nice the salmon and it was only okay also nothing special. My husband said the lobster was very good and would go back to enjoy that if in the area.

Ok. You’re going to pay a higher price here than many sit down restaurants, BUT it’s worth every cent. This is fine dining done like it used to be, like it should be. Warm & inviting ambience, tables lit with candles, big fireplace, gorgeous bar, friendly staff, & food that is unbelievably good. We’ve been here a few times & love it. Our favorites are the spinach & goat cheese stuffed mushrooms, filet mignon, horseradish potatoes, & the only prime rib in the area that deserves bragging rights. Everything is always cooked to our specifications(med-well, medium, etc). I don’t know who their chef is, but he/she is amazing!!! This Unilocal review is making my mouth water for another visit. If you are anywhere near Heston’s, do not pass it up.

Had great meal there. Hard to beat in this region. Old-time midwestern steakhouse with all the trimmings. Generous cocktails, huge portions of deliciousness at a reasonable price with wonderful service. Highly recommend prime rib, frog’s legs and filet/shrimp-dejhong combo. Would eat here more often, were it not for its slightly off-the-beaten track location.

We took my mom to Hestons for her 70th Birthday party, total 17 of us. Food was awesome as usual, my parents took me to Hestons a couple times a year since I was a little boy and it has always been great. Prime rib is the best around. Service was good, waitress messed a couple of the checks but she apologetic and sorted things out.

This is one of those restaurants that when we go we cannot figure out why we don’t go more often. I cannot speak highly enough about this hidden little gem. Tonight I was walking back in(I left my wallet in the car) and was walking in behind a customer coming in. He remarked that it was he and his wife’s first time. I told him don’t even bother reading the menu just order the Prime Rib. I eat out… a lot!!! This is the best prime rib I have ever had. Walking in from the parking lot you have your senses assaulted with the smell of roasted and smoked meat. By the time you get to the front door you’re drooling and hoping that the wait isn’t going to be long. Tonight it wasn’t, about 5 mins to get seated. Before I had my seat pulled in they set down the first of many delights to hit the table. Their house made cheese spread and a basket of breads and crackers. They really should charge for this. Dinner well its just about the greatest thing you ever put in your non vegetarian mouth. But the shocker and surprise of the night was dessert. Peach shortcake. Local peaches and by local I mean they were grown a par 5 from the restaurant. The shortcake was more like a light lemony pound cake and served with ice cream and whipped cream. To say the peaches were perfect would not do it justice. Georgia has got nothing on Indiana peaches.

Stopped in for dinner on our way home. The customer service was top shelf. Food was top shelf, atmosphere was perfect. Well worth the short drive off I-94. I will be back!!! I had the French Onion Soup, and Prime Rib. My daughter had the ribs and they did not disappoint. The servings were very generous. Desert was ice cream on a cookie. I couldn’t eat the desert as I was too full of this great dinner!

I’ve had the opportunity to eat here several times and I’ve always enjoyed the meal. Their portions are HUGE and the variety gives something for everyone. Prime rib is a must! But I also recommend the surf n turf. The lobster tail every time has been cooked to perfection and with so much flavor. The bar is quant with old town wood covered charm and most of the folks dining seem happy and relaxed. Only down side is the décor. VERY dated dining room, 80’s décor and bathrooms, but don’t let that stop you from a great cooked steak!

Buffalo shrimp spicy sauce without drowning the shrimp. Prime rib prepared to perfection, the grill strip was tender juicy… excellent. Heston does not disappoint! One of out favorite places for steaks and seafood.

We arrived toward the end of the evening and enjoyed a perfectly made cocktail with the friendly bartender. We slowly savored our meal of prime rib and potatoes next the fireplace. Deep in conversation and enjoyment of our meal, we hardly noticed we were the last customers of the evening. The staff was very patient and personable and allowed us plenty of time to enjoy another great evening at Heston. I recommend you go to Heston and just relax and enjoy the friendly staff and perfectly prepared food… no worries, no hurry.

My expectations were high. I was looking forward to a great dinner & I’m not sure why it didn’t happen here. We arrived just as they opened on Saturday. It was already packed. We got extremely slow service & when we got our meal I mentioned to my husband that my mashed potatoes were«almost warm», he said«just like my prime rib». Our dinner bill for 2 was about $ 75.(No alcohol). The minimum expectation would be getting served while our food was still hot. We won’t b going back.

Yes it is an expensive meal, but this was for my 50th birthday and how many times do you get a chance to celebrate that with your family? I had the«hoof and claw» which is prime rib and crab legs. The prime rib was mouth watering and prepared expertly at medium rare, nice and red but still cooked enough. I live an hour away and even with the long drive this is still my favorite restaurant.

Prime rib is awesome.(If you order it well done, I hope someone slaps you, but that’s my own opinion, they will give you an end cut if you ask.) Well made cocktails, craft beer available, in addition to the domestic standbys, nice wine list. Dark wood, low lighting, typical old fashioned supper club/steakhouse atmosphere. The seafood is pretty good as well. I would recommend that if you order beef(OTHERTHANTHEPRIMERIB) that you shift your usual done-ness toward the rarer, I think you’ll find it will turn out closer to your expectations, shame to ruin a good steak cut that’s been ideally seasoned. Off the beaten track(Not actually in «Nowhere», but close), but worth it if you love a good cut of prime rib. No reservations. It’s casual, but it’s a «nice» place, so it wouldn’t kill you to dress up just a little, c’mon, you never go to nice places.
