Just attended the STEAM programming for 3 – 4 year olds and it was pretty good. I definitely think I’d go back for another session. The session I attended was looking at simple machines and focused largely on wheels and leavers. There were three open exploration areas to examine the engineering piece — cars down different inclines, lifting a heavy brick with a board and soup can — and then an arts piece that involved painting with wheels. I do feel like the girls got something out of it. The children’s section in general was really nicely laid out with low shelves for open sight lines and exploration stations that included a puppet theater and magnetic tables.

Best dang library around! This place has all of the new books — both fiction and non-fiction — and also DVDs(think«free Blockbuster») and CDs. And the Kid’s Section has its own floor. Super Awesome!!!

Although I do not really enjoy the staff that works in the adult section, the reference section staff is incredibly helpful. They can find you local information as well as national information. The best thing about this library is the children’s section. It’s divided up by age and has French book section. Also, the staff in the children’s section is just oh-so friendly and offer awesome free activities daily!

This is a small library, but it has a very nice children’s section. Since Laruchmont has large French population, they have books in French as well. I really enjoyed visiting with kids as it has nice puppet sections etc. Worth visiting with your child.
