Great mexican place! Best in the area. The french tacos are my favorite. Very nice, clean and delicious!

Went to Rio Bravo for lunch with a friend and it was a very pleasant experience. I ordered a black jack margarita and the carnitas tacos, both the drinks and the food were very good! Not only was the dining experience enjoyable but the staff were very accommodating and the owner even came out to check up on us. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice place to come and eat some good South American food and for a few good drinks.

How this place gets such high reviews, I do not know. I had the pork quesadilla which was undercooked, so I had them send it back to the grille. It came back with more greasy, but still not browned. I think it was overstuffed with meat, and the meat wasn’t that good. I tasetd my friend’s plain quesadilla, which was better. Meanwhile, children ran all over the place, which was OK because we were there with kids, too, but some screaming and antics from the bathroom pushed it over the edge. The servers were friendly, which is a plus.

Initially my friends and I had planned to go to Arthur Ave., however a last minute change landed us at this delightful spot. Wish I had discovered this place earlier! Like most Mexican restaurants, the chips and salsa here were spot on. Both were refilled in a timely fashion and our party of 8 was even offered a special spicy guac while we waited for our entrees. None of us ordered any appetizers(next time for sure!) For my entrée, I had the Enchiladas Sonoma which I have to say were some of the best enchiladas I’ve had in a long time!(My default go to at Mexican restaurants is enchiladas so I know a thing or two about them). The chardonnay cilantro pecan sauce really elevated the enchiladas. The tortillas were perfectly soft and no where near flaky. I’m a veggie so I opted out of the grilled chicken and the server happily let me substitute other vegetables like onions and peppers(I passed on asparagus and zucchini lol). There’s room for improvement on the rice however as an Indian I do have very high standards on the flavor-fullness of rice! My other side was black beans. I gave 4 stars because I felt the menu is a tad bit pricey but hey the food, service and vibe at the restaurant makes it worth it! Vegetarians Beware– The standard side option of beans is pinto with bacon so make sure you substitute to black beans. Otherwise this restaurants menu and servers are 100% veggie friendly!

Decided to try something new tonight based solely on Unilocal reviews and we stumbled upon rio bravo tacos. While some wanted to simply stick with our regular go to restaurant, a game time decision was made and we ended up here. From the moment we walked in, we knew we made the right decision. It is a large venue with cute decorations and it smelled delicious! We were seated at the back, and although far from the kitchen we were not forgotten. The service was spot on the entire night. The staff are friendly and attentive and made sure our needs were met. The meal started with complementary chips, salsa and guac served with individual bowls for all those double dippers out there!!! They also provide extra hot sauce on the side to make the perfect combination as you see fit!!! Only downside was that we ate too much before the main dishes arrived. While some were on a detox from the previous night those that got the margaritas enjoyed them and even got seconds! The menu is robust offering a wide variety of Mexican classics ranging from 15 – 20 dollars. I ordered the half veggie half chicken fajitas and when they say the plates are hot… They’re definitely hot!!! The chicken was tender and tasty and the add ins were fresh! A fan favorite around the table was the Marco Polo taco! It was a pleasant experience and I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

If you are looking for tasty Mexican food at a reasonable price that’s the right place to go. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated and customers are really well treated.

Rio Bravo is delicious. Everything is totally fresh. The salsa is wonderful, the guacamole is prepared so well. The best things of the menu are the steak dishes. I’ve never been to a mexican restaurant where the steak was as tender as this. Excellent tacos as well. Service is very friendly. Larchmont finally has a Mexican joint that absolutely blows Tequila Sunrise away.

As someone who hails from the Southwest, Phoenix to be exact, I happen to find Rio Bravo one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Westchester area. The assortment of fish taco platters are to die for, the table side quac is amazing. As for the tequila selection, there’s at least a 100 to choose from. The michiladas are amazing. The staff and the ambiance is above average with other Mexican restaurants in the area, but the foods better. Now go get some!

When this place opened, I was impressed with the drinks and food, and the prices. The owner was always visible, very accommodating, and friendly — but I don’t see him as much any more. Over the last 6 months, I feel the place has been on a slow downward trend. 2 main reason for this: 1. the bar and bartenders in the back are not very friendly and 2. the food seems to taste less fresh, in terms of flavor and temperature of the food coming out. If you don’t drink from the great daily specials menu, which are way too sweet for me and made with cheaper liquor, the regular premium liquor prices are very high. Also, when they ran out of the premium tequila I was drinking(I forgot which brand), they filled up the bottle from the back kitchen(felt dodgy). And the bartender I had a couple times measured out a shot for single drinks on the rocks: I think I paid $ 15 for a single DonJuilio Reposado on the rocks with a little fresh lime juice. And the food definitely had more flavor in the first few months than it does now and I feel that they they either prepare more of the food in advance as everything seems less crisp and more bland. The homemade salsa is still good though. I did not believe it deserves lower than three stars because is was quite good initially. I was there about 10 times and the first few times was at least a 4*. Also it is a good group experience because they give you a lot of food and you can get drunk off of cheap sweet drink specials!

Food is fine, if a bit pricey with small portions, space is creative and cavernous, but the waitstaff is what makes it work: they are so nice. SONICE. And attentive, and appreciative, and helpful. It’s just a solid dining experience all around. Salsa is delicious, taco menu is creative(but they have old standbys), and it’s very kid friendly while still feeling like a night out. And the bar scene can be really fun. A great addition to the neighborhood.

Décor is bright and cheerful, colorful and fun. The food is really top notch — everything is fresh and tasty, flavors are clean and clear, never overwhelming. The salsa comes in a small carafe and each diner gets an individual bowl in which to pour it. Great chips, fresh and tasty. Excellent margaritas! Table side guacamole was fresh, cool and smooth. The Enchiladas Sonoma were amazing — chicken and spinach in a delicate but savory Chardonnay cilantro pecan sauce, paired with rice and beans and yummy slaw. My friend’s shrimp enchiladas came in a tasty tomatoey sauce. Steak fajitas were also excellent — seasoned with an expert hand. Overall one of the top one or two Mexican restaurants I’ve been to and in the top five overall!

The food isn’t bad and the space is nice, but an $ 18 veggie burrito?. . no thanks. We were sat in the back, near a bar with more TVs hanging around it than a window display at Crazy Eddie’s(but, the prices here were so high they ‘were insane’). The music went off, and a football game began piping throughout the entire restaurant over it’s speakers. I was in hell.. . a family entered and began talking about sports(sportsin’) at an un-Godly volume. I had to yell across my table just so my girlfriend could hear me over this clan of jocks and bro-bots sitting twenty feet away clanking glasses like medieval knights shouting about turf, easterly winds, and yardage. If the prices were a little more realistic, and the place didn’t turn into a frat house only moments after the dimmest flicker of a sports game hit the television, I might come back.. . but for now I will be staying away.. . far.. . far away.

This place is gorgeous and massive. I love the eclectic collection of artwork. The food is as equally outstanding. I highly recommend the Marco Polo tacos. The beans have a smokey delicious flavor. This spot is a stones throw from metro north station for my nyc people. Happy hour specials M-F…my favorite I is taco Tues($ 1).

Will never go here again. It was my birthday and someone told the staff it was my birthday. After our meal, I was drinking water and the waiters came up behind me and jumped out and screamed in my face and started singing. It scared everyone at my table and since i was mid sip, I spilled water all over myself when I jumped. One of the waiters took the spoon and pretended like he was going to feed me and stuck whipped cream on my face. It was so miserable and completely ruined the evening. It was so rude and unkind. I was so startled that there was no way I was eating whatever fried dessert they put on the table. I hope they didn’t charge us for that. It was just the worst. The salsa and guac was good but the food was nothing special. I wouldn’t bother with this place.

I’ll admit I was not holding my breath for a fun and great new Mexican restaurant to come to Larchmont but thankfully we have been given Rio Bravo. I drove by it yesterday afternoon(Saturday) and with the sidewalk doors open and patio seating, we could see it was bustling and I immediately turned to my wife and said«we should go there.» We brought the kids last night and had a great meal. We did not have a wait or reservation but we literally got the 2nd-to-last open table and the other open one was a two-top. We started with Sangria – standard red and a peach/white. Both were great – good portions and reasonably priced at $ 8.00 for the quality and size. I ordered the pork carnitas tacos, but before I get to those – it is worth mentioning the rice and beans. I always try the rice and beans at Mexican restaurants always hoping to be surprised. Invariably I’m board — they tend to be bland, wasted calories. At Rio Bravo, for the first time at a Mexican restaurant, I can say that I loved the rice and beans. They were perfectly seasoned, with a few vegetables and cactus in the rice. I ate all of mine and about half of my toddler’s also. The pork carnitas were succulent. The waiter also asked if we like them spicy, and when I said yes, he brought some very hot sauce from the kitchen which was great – hot but flavorful and not killer. Kids and wife loved their food as well. Perhaps the best part? The bill. Dinner for 2 adults and two kids plus two drinks: $ 59.00 before tip. It was so nice to see. About five years ago, we ate a horribly mediocre meal at Tequilla Sunrise, also in Larchmont, and had the honor of paying $ 108.00 for it. The waiter looked embarrassed when he brought the bill. We have never been back. The food at Rio Bravo was several times better(no contest) and to eat their five years after Tequilla Sunrise for less than two-thirds the price was pretty amazing. We were tempted to come back again for a second night in a row. We will be back soon.

I came here after hearing good things from one of my mother’s friends. It’s a struggle for me to find good Mexican food but this is probably the best I’ve had in a long time. The location is super convenient; the restaurant is steps away from the Larchmont Metro North station and within reach to the main commercial hub of the town. The décor was typical of a Mexican restaurant — it was a little over the top but I loved it; I kind of felt like I was dining in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot in Disney World(it’s a good thing, in the words of Martha Stewart ;-). A nice feature in the dining room was that the wall facing the street was all glass doors which were opened up to create an open feeling to the restaurant. There are more tables in the back as well as a bar; the place is fairly large. The obligatory chips and salsa were some of the better ones I’ve tasted– the chips were warm and each member of our party had their own individual dipping bowl — a nice touch. The menu had a nice variety of stuff without being too overwhelming. I went with the turkey club tacos which included turkey, avocado, and bacon. The tacos were served in a soft shell(yes!) and came with rice, beans, and a slaw on the side. I was really impressed — everything was full of flavor and the turkey club aspect of the tacos made them interesting(in addition to being tasty). Service was good — our waitress was friendly and we were always offered refills on drinks and chips. The price was also great, much lower than expected. I would definitely come back here — so glad I found a good Mexican place within arms reach.

Most people would say this is «Americanized» Mexican, but I still have no idea what that means. I’ve eaten from taco trucks, been to off the beaten path places in LA, and it seems pretty similar. It’s not as spicy, but just tell your waiter you want it really spicy and I’m sure they’ll oblige. Chips and Salsa were super fresh, they make guacamole tableside, everyone calls you«amigo», and the bacon wrapped shrimp tacos were insane; what’s not to love?

If it was possible I would give 3 ½ stars! I went here for the first time tonight with my friends. Big menu with a lot to choice from, all different kinds of Mexican tacos and also some new variations like salads and soups. The food was good! We got chips and salsa as an appetizer(for free!), and I had steak quesadilla as my main dish. Nothing special or outstanding but still quite good food. Friendly staff and you really felt like you were in a restaurant in Mexico!
