Vintage 1891 Kitchen

Last night, my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try for an impromptu dinner date after other plans fell through and we’re both so glad we did!
I made us a reservation with open table since I wasn’t sure how long a wait on a Friday night would be and we were seated immediately– I took the gorgeous wingback chair and we were waited on by a very attentive and cheerful staff. We stayed a good while since we were seeing a movie later in the evening and had some time to kill and we never felt rushed or like we were inconveniencing them by taking our time between appetizers, entrees, and dessert. The cocktails are excellent and they have a very well rounded wine list as well. Extremely universal and well thought out. The truffle popcorn was very good, but I don’t understand the hype I read about in reviews. Not that I minded, as I am a popcorn fiend.
My boyfriend got the pan-​seared scallops and they were literal perfection, while I got the short ribs which fell apart they were so tender. The mashed potatoes were delicious and simple and went so well with the flavorful meat.
After clearing our plates we took a moment and then ordered the pecan pie as per our sever’s recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely incredible and a great match with the French press coffee.
The ambiance is classy without being pretentious or overly-​formal, and there’s something very inviting about it. The décor is beautiful and you just want to curl up in one of those big chairs and stay forever. Even the bar/​lounge area looks neat and just like a great place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends.
I can’t wait to make this place our new regular date-​night spot!

My wife and I frequent this restaurant and we’ve never been disappointed. The décor is modern and chic creating the perfect ambience for a romantic date or a nice casual get together at the bar or lounge area.
When we were looking for a place to host my mother in laws 60^th Birthday, choosing vintage was a no brainier.
Service: Michael was personable, genuinely accommodating and extremely knowledgable about the food and wine. I’m not surprised that the restaurant is doing so well with him at the forefront. We also had the pleasure of being served by Jose. You just can’t go wrong with the service here.
Food: it’s quite simple really. The menu is not overwhelming, because it is already refined. I have loved every dish that has come out of that kitchen.
Fried calamari: how can you go wrong with fried calamari? Well in this case, fried calamari just got better. Lightly breaded and cooked to perfection.
Duck Confit Dumplings: tender moist duck confit in a perfectly cooked dumpling. The shaved fennel adds crunch and a little texture while the peach purée balances the dish with a little sweetness. Sweet and savory.
Mussels: get the spicy sauce with prosciutto. You won’t regret it.
Pulled pork sliders: always moist with a delicious Bbq sauce. The coleslaw cuts through the sweetness. Only thing wrong with the crunchy chilly pepper is that I want more of it. It’s delicious.
Salmon tartare: light and refreshing. You can tell the salmon is fresh.
Lamb: Cooked to perfection. The mint crust paired perfectly with the yogurt sauce. The tomatoes salad is refreshing.
Branzino with white wine sauce: the skin is crispy and the fish is moist. My wife’s favorite dish.
Braised Beef Short ribs: extremely tender. You don’t need a knife, just your fork (but use one anyway). The sauce is rich and when you add mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts, need I say more…
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. If you want consistency, quality, and great service, this restaurant is one of the best in Westchester.

I’m sure I’ll have a follow-​up review after November, but I can’t say enough about Vintage 1891 Kitchen and Amy alone! I was looking for the perfect location for my sister’s bridal shower, one that was classy yet had a modern feel with great food… and I found it! I was eager to go ahead and try the food and see the place in person, as originally I found this beautiful spot through Unilocal.
Upon arrival, I sat down with Amy and reviewed the different options. Her bubbly personality made it that much easier. We had to try everything: from the truffle mac and cheese to the crostini with ricotta/​honey/​olives (AMAZING); I was in heaven. We both had two amazing fish dishes and I had a wonderful glass of Pinot Noir. I was so full after all that food, I didn’t get a chance for dessert.
I’ll be having my sister’s bridal shower here in November, which I know will be a dream. On Sundays the restaurant can only be booked for private parties, which means you have the place to yourself! I couldn’t thank Amy enough for her patience with me. It’s the perfect spot to host a party or simply enjoy with your girlfriends and couples!

This is a great place, nice restaurant with comfortable chairs & good space between tables. Food is tasty too.

Love this place! The wine list is amazing and the staff is super friendly! We are vegan and they can make a dish for us based on sides we like on the menu. Plus, their soup is always vegan! Food is super yummy

Holy cow. I was wow’d by the both the amazing food, and amazing service.
We went during the reastuarunt week so the place was pretty busy but our waiter quickly let us know.
My seared salmon was amazing and both the calamari and Mac and cheese were the best I’ve had in a while (and I love both dearly)
My girlfriend roasted chicken and potatos was her favorite also

We attended a lovely event hosted by friends to promote a local business. I had reserved a table for 6. Called to add to table 2 days prior, was put on hold, person on phone came back and said:“You’re all set for 6″. Time to sit, there are no tables for 6. Manager? Hostess? A woman, perhaps Amy, was completely unconcerned and said we would have to sit at 2 tables. When I told her I had reserved for 6, she said“That’s not what my floor plan said.” We were all kind of shocked at her flat out rudeness; not only not at all interested in being helpful, but unpleasant and borderline combative. We carried 2 additional chairs to a table for 4 and made it work.
Food was very good, ambience lovely, event hosted by wonderful people, and I would never go back.

Love love love this place. Take a date for a special occasion. Meet your girls for a ladies night out. Drink the wine and specialty drinks. Order as much as you can on the menu. Share plates. My favorite over the years has to be the short ribs. Yummer. You. Will. Not. Go. Wrong. Leave the kids and goldfish in a snack cup at home. Hire a sitter and treat yourself to a great night out with incredible food AND service. Seriously if you haven’t been here yet — get going. Make up an excuse for an awesome night out. Tuesday sounds like a good enough excuse for me!!!

Loved the restaurant. NYC atmosphere without the NYC prices. Fantastic service and very creative menu. Jose was very attentive and caring. Great bar scene. We will definitely return many times and refer our local and Manhattan friends.

I love Vintage 1891! It is one of my favorite restaurants! I love the atmosphere and food. Whenever I have out of town guests (or friends who grew up here and moved elsewhere) this is my go-​to to show off Larchmont! I love the combination of the bar scene and nice dining room. And the Salmon never disappoints.

Vintage is our goto restaurant for date night and meeting friends for drinks. Love the décor — the bar is hip and happenin’ — making you feel like you are no longer in the burbs. Love Love LOVE the tuna tartar.

Helped plan a wedding after-​party here and they were very accommodating and well priced. The venue is beautiful with a nice bar, sofa seating area, and dining room. The service was very attentive and pleasant, and they have a pretty nice selection of scotch, vodkas, and tequilas.
Would recommend to have an event there or go for dinner/​drinks. Great for a date.

Awesome job Amy & crew. We had a great time at Vintage 1891 for a birthday get together. Wanted to go to hang out but ended up having food. If you’re in the area deff stop in !

Gotta say this is one of our faves! We always start with the truffle popcorn! No matter where we sit; bar or table we always have amazing service! Samantha was our first server we had! She remembered us months later as we sat at the bar. She is great!
My wife and i gauge a restaurant on its service first and quality second. We get both here! I would recommend to all of our friends! It’s our weekly spot!

Cool restaurant. Went here with my boyfriend for a drink on a Thursday night, and it was very crowded, but fun! Would return for lunch earlier in the day.

I got married at vintage, that’s how spectacular I think this place is… Amy and michael are the most fabulous and accommodating human beings out there. They are realistic, intelligent and personable. Their basil vodka lemonade is friggen fantastic, and their sliders are ridiculous. You can not go wrong with any selection that you pick off of their menu. The ambiance is even more incredible. If you are looking for a sexy date spot with on point food… Go

Loved the truffle Mac cheese and the mussels with with coconut curry was amazing. the steak was perfect and the cheesecake I totally recommend

My friend celebrated her birthday here and when I arrived I was immediately impressed upon walking in. The layout is great and the upscale décor definitely suits the place. There was some laidback loungy dance music playing. The seating areas were very comfortable and there were also three dining areas as well as a garden out back which is open through the warmer months. There is a fireplace in the main dining area and warm mood lighting making it quite romantic. Great place to bring a date.
We were served by Amy who also happens to be one of the owners. She was super sweet with a great sense of humor. They were very accomodating towards the birthday girl and all her guests.
I sampled three of their wines. A pinot noir, pino grigio and another red that I didn’t recall. The truffle popcorn was delicious. I probably could have eaten an entire bowl to myself. We ordered a cheese plate and while the cheese was good there were only four types of cheese and three pieces of each. I wish the serving size was a little larger. We also tried the Pulled pork sliders with apple cider barbeque Sauce, coleslaw, and a crispy cherry peppers on top. The pork wasn’t as tender as I’d hoped but the flavors were on point. The sauce was tasty without overpowering the slider.
The bathroom was very clean but I was a little disappointed at the size and décor. Based on the rest of the restaurant as well as the size of the place I would have thought it would have been a little bigger and classier but it was pretty standard with two stalls. Another thing was when we arrived I think the bathrooms had been freshly cleaned because the doors were proped. Let me just say I got quite an eye full as I walked past the men’s room and it wasn’t pretty lol.
