Pretty tasty food, one of the best if not the best looking restaurant in town. Wine display is sweet, and bar deco is not bad!

Consistent, delicious, great service and large wine selection. Must try the huitlacoche tenderloin, salmon, and burger(lunch). Best Laredo has to offer!

This place is awesome! I think I’m addicted to the pork lovers pizza and the great selection of bourbon. Thanks Mini, Shelby and Oz for being some of the best bartenders in Laredo.

OK, so I have floundered a bit on reviewing the Border Foundry. Ultimately what it boiled down to was consistency. One day it’s «gee wiz amazing» and the next day the same dish is «eh». The last few times that I have been, it’s been«gee wiz amazing». In particular the the Filet Huitlacoche — however, the last few times I ate there, Pete was present every single time. Pete(the owner) is a very talented and innovative Chef and his creations are excellent, however, that talent does not always transpose over to the line cooks. As long as Pete or one of his sons is in house, it is an excellent place to eat.

Delicious, relaxed, out of town feel To the place. Food is a amazing, try the chicken chipotle Alfredo… In house made pasta and amazing sauce topped off w/marinated chicken… The outdoors area is very relaxing, beautiful décor, nice wine tower, waiter staff is 5 star in my book, extremely courteous and friendly, there is a blonde girl there who always waits on me, I forgot her name, but a special recognition for doing an outstanding job and making customers feel right at home

Just what Laredo needed, a completely different menu, their blacked sword fish is delish and so is the chipotle shrimp alfredo. Not a big fan of their salads, they fill gritty like there was some dirt left on the lettuce. Their rolls are dangerous, they’re so good you can easily eat about six of them in a meal. Very impressive wine vault!

Been there a couple times always packed and for good reason. Food is pretty darn good, It is pricy though. Crowd was mostly locals dressed to impress. I will defiantly go here again on my next trip to laredo.

Wow! Amazing dining experience. I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer & nothing but the best lump crab quality. I haven’t had such great crab cakes since I visited Crab Daddy’s in The a Woodlands! These were even better & the best I’ve had! I also order a brick oven baked gluten free pizza & I was very pleased with the flavor & quality. I sat in the bar area & my server was attentive & provided genuine gregarious customer service! I am very impressed with the ambience, amazing food & quality of service! This is the surely the best fine dining spot in Laredo!

Great spot for the area. Welcoming dining, eat-in bar, and outdoor areas. Extensive wine list and top notch bar. The menu is quite ambitious and well appreciated. For the business travelers this is probably your best bet in all of Laredo; weekday or weekend. The outdoor space is well established, as they have live music Thursday, Friday, and most Saturday’s. I have had many of the seafood dishes and a prime strip steak. Everything always great and noticeably fresh. I can fully recommend the duck confit ravioli app. If you’re a regular or just passing through, this is a great stop.

Border Foundry is Laredo’s answer need for trendy, somewhat upscale restaurants. I’ve been going to this restaurant since they opened and I’m glad to say that their service, while a bit spotty like all fledgling eateries, has vastly improved. Their menu is both broad and refined. Their wine selection is wonderful and their bartenders are always happy to serve and provide suggestions so this is a great spot for either a few drinks after work or before dinner/a night out. Their specialty martinis and the carajillo are the drinks to try. Some of my favorite dishes are the burrata, chipotle pasta, cornish hen, salmon, and seared tuna. I also really love their excellent tiramasu. My one critique is that, on one occasion, I had brunch, which I’m not even sure they still have now. I was served the barbacoa eggs benedict with a side of blue corn chips and, when I asked for salsa, the waiter said he had been told to respond to that question with something along the lines of «This restaurant is not Mexican so we do not have any salsa.» I thought it was in poor taste considering their main demographic, but then again the owners are anglos so I wasn’t surprised to hear something so crass.

Absolutely outstanding. Had a half rack of lamb that was perfect. I would highly recommend for both locals and visitors like me. I don’ t believe anything could go wrong here. Anxious to return again. I do hope this review will post. «They» do not think I wrote enough words!

The food has always been excellent every time we have gone, both for lunch and dinner. Service gets better and better every time as well. The last time I went, the server was very attentive and made good recommendations as far as entrees and wines. The ambience and décor are also eye catching. This eatery is a breath of fresh air in this town. As Laredo continues to grow and we get more folks come in from out of town, I hope that the food, beverage selection, and customer service get even better. Great job to the Mims Family!

My boyfriend and I went to Border Foundry to have a nice dinner. We knew it would probably be on the more expensive side and we were okay with that because we don’t mind paying for quality, but quality was not what we got. The environment, ambiance, and our service was phenomenal, but the food was not. The fried ravioli was dry on the inside and tasted like a saltine cracker, and the pasta carbonara was salty and had no other flavor. My boyfriend thought his steak was decent but not worth the amount he paid. We may give this place another try when they’ve had more time to tweak the menu, but we won’t be visiting again for a while. It’s new and we understand recipes are trial and error, so hopefully improvement will come soon!

Good atmosphere, definitely 5 stars for Laredo. Appetizers were so so, had the fried oyster nachos and the avocado and cheese, nachos were good but would have liked home made chips, could tell these were from a bag. Had the bone in ribeye, temp was perfect, thought it seemed expensive until I got the piece of meat, was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Tried a few of the deserts all were above average

Biz travelers and locals… heads up this is a great option! This place is like a beacon of glowing wonderful light in a town that has few options for upscale and late night dining/full bar. Excellent wine selection and prices… many wines by the glass and excellent house cocktail variety. They have a massive bar, service is attentive and friendly. The food is all scratch made(according to attentive management). Ended up eating here 3 out of 4 days for dinner while visiting in town for business. You’ll find traditional Americana, and very creative gourmet options on the menu… such as Duck Confit, bacon wrapped quail, good fish options, and prime cuts of meat(we had Bison Ribeyes one night). One night we went and just ordered a bunch of appetizers and had a blast. Sizable portions and most apps are $ 8 to $ 12. Awesome place!

So happy a restaurant like this opened in Laredo! Well made, beautifully presented food, a decent wine list, and sophisticated(by Laredo standards) décor… it feels like you are in another city when you walk in!

OOOOOOOOMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!! I loved this place so much I had to go back for more! Only in town for the weekend? I was, and I went in TWICE… it’s that good. Unlike all of the great Mexican food Laredo offers, this place has a unique menu and welcoming atmosphere all it’s own. Sunday was time for brunch with the girls, so I tried the Barbacoa Benedict and a margarita. It was orgasmic! Every tastebud in my mouth was dancing for joy and every bite was as good as the first. My friend tried the Chipotle Chicken Pasta… to die for! The pasta is made in house! The strip, cooked and seasoned perfectly; portobello burger, delish(i might ask for no mustard next time though); the tomato basil soup, not TOO creamy. I was overwhelmingly surprised by this new hideout in Laredo! I would definitely be a regular and have to try it all! They have a really cool looking bar and neat wine room. Try this place out!!! Thank me later :)
