From the outside, one would assume that El Taco Tote would be a good place to go get a taco. Call me crazy but I think when a restaurant name has a certain food in it, that restaurant should specialize in that particular food. I ordered three tacos. 1 shrimp, 1 carne asada, and 1 fish. What I got was the laziest set of tacos I’ve ever seen. The fish taco had two ingredients: fish sticks and corn wrap. The same was for the carne asada. There are absolutely no other ingredients except the meat. The fish taco was so bad I only took two bites. I guarantee it was two frozen microwaved fish sticks because they were very slimy even though they looked like they were supposedly deep fried at some point. The carne asada was just old meat cut up into bits, it was very dry and hard. Now all this wouldn’t offend me so much if each taco wasn’t 4 bucks! You’re paying 3.99 for two microwaved fish sticks in a taco wrap. Just a heads up: El Taco Tote no es bueno.

Service was poor. Order was wrong TWICE. very disappointed. Waited forever for the order to to be corrected and then given attitude by the staff. Won’t be back!

The shrimp quesadillas are so good! Big juicy shrimp, diced and sautéed onions, tomatoes, and cheesy goodness wrapped in a corn tortilla. Topped with avocado green salsa! Super delicious!

This is one of my must go to ’ s when I come home to Laredo. Amazing tacos with great variety of salsas. A little pricey but honestly it is totally worth it. Again, a must stop in Laredo.
