La Carreta Carnes Asadas

I travel all around the States. I have to eat out more than I should. I’ve followed Unilocal reviews for some time. This place has the worst margaritas. Service is quick and food is reasonable. I’ve been to better Mexican restaurants away from the border than this one.

Great place to enjoy a good meal with family and friends. Lots of space and the staff was very friendly. The chips and tortillas were homemade but not a big fan of the salsa. Wish I had more choices with that. My wife ordered the steak and send it back for it was overlooked. She did receive another that was much better. Overall, I enjoyed it very much and would return with a bigger group yo enjoy the full bar ambiance.

We stayed in Laredo over night an the receptionist at the hotel referred us to this place said they delivered
The prices were not too bad a little on the pricy side but we don’t mind if it’s authentic food… Much different then any Mexican restaurant up north
I don’t speak Spanish and the girl on the phone didn’t speak much English but we got it together an got our order placed
Hubby had the trio fajitas and both types of beans. I had just chicken fajitas and extra order of beans
Also ordered Flan… I’m very picky with Flan and there was amazing
I would of give 5 stars except
1) the guacamole was very bald (maybe it’s suppose to be but not what I’m use to)
2) the fajita was served whole not chopped up
3) no sour cream even tho we ordered it
4) rice left a lot to be desired in my opinion but hubby liked it
But on a plus side the meats were very tender seasoned excellent the beans (both) were amazing !! The Flan was awesome
All in all we would order from here again for sure

When we arrived (early at about 4:30PM) we were seated right away. Great crew/​staff as they all made us feel very welcomed. Within a few short minutes our waitress came to our table with a decent size bowl of tortillas chips that were oven roasted and crisp, a bowl of some of the BEST darn salsa I have had. Great taste with a bit of heat I would say a 7 out of 10 in heat. My brother ordered the Cabrito plate and my sister and I ordered the beef alambres. He said that his plate was really good and moist with tons of flavor. He also received a large bowl of pinto beans in a Charro style. My plate was really good as well. The meat was charred with a very moist inside that was super tender. My sister stopped talking as she was busy with her plate. Really good food and I highly recommend this location. We’ll be back very soon.

Good Mexican food but a little exaggerated on the prices. Dishes are served differently. For example, fajitas are served whole instead of sliced. I had chicken fajitas and they were a little dry. Guacamole was very very bland. Some of the servers didn’t speak English, so be sure to brush up on Spanish or bring a fluent friend. Really pretty building, but the substance didn’t match up.

Good food! Great service! Cold Draft beer!!!

Like the dinner ambiance, even the trio that played. Probably best to stick to the arrachera cuz the fajita was a little too chewy
