La Carreta Carnes Asadas

I gave 5 stars for the $ 5 breakfast. It was huge and delicious. Never had nopalitos before but i loved them.

The food was phenomenal. The seasoning was perfect, complementary to the meal, not overpowering like TexMex restaurants in Houston. The service was outstanding. Our server was very polite and attentive and he even helped us with our Spanish. The bartender also gave great service and was very attentive. I doubt that my travels will bring me back this way, but if they do, I will definitely be back. A Houston location would be great, this restaurant would make money hand over fist in Houston.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to since I’ve been in Laredo. The staff was awesome and they spoke to me in English, since my Spanish speaking is limited. The food was really fresh and very well prepared. And who can pass up everyday Happy Hour from 4pm-​8pm. Simply put… This place was «AWESOME!!!»

Food: I was expecting great fajitas! I was disappointed! If you order by the kilo, get your cutting hand ready. The meat comes out uncut– you’ll spend some time cutting and preparing your tacos. The meat was tough. I expected this meat to be perfectly cooked and it was overcooked. The meat was flavorful! I enjoyed the taste of the seasoning. Homemade tortillas were good! My sister had the enchiladas– she said that they tasted «just normal, nothing exciting.»
Overall Rating: 3. Although the service was on point, the toughness of the meat was very disappointing. This place was clean, enjoyable, and had good prices. However, I love fajitas– so I will probably not venture back this way.

BEST DRINK SPECIALS in all of Laredo. On the weekends they have a full mariachi band playing with multiple other live mexican musicians playing inside and in the outdoor patio. Great atmosphere great service. They have tones of seating and TVs everywhere. I like to come here to enjoy a baseball game with some friends and cold beer! The food portions are good, fresh tortillas made right in front of you. Great variety in the menu

Went here for dinner a couple of weeks ago with my husband and 2 year old. It was our first time there, and the food was pretty good, we both ordered beef fajitas and they were great. Only complaint we had was our appetizer, we ordered the queso but the cooks overlooked the plastic bag that the cheese was stored in, and it ended up in our dish. The waiter was very apologetic and comped our margaritas. I understand these things happen, so it won’t stop us from going back. The mariachi band was a little loud (8 – 10 people spread out over the dining room with no less than 3 trumpets!), but it was a weekend, so maybe next time we’ll try a different time to go.

Wow. The food is totally off the hook. Very authentic (this IS Laredo) food. Attentive and friendly staff. Everyone had a great meal.
