La Quinta Inn Laredo I-35

It’s a hotel. It kept me at a good temperature and kept my car safe. (The neighborhood a couple of blocks south looked rather iffy at night.) Because of the exterior hallway/​door, the road noise was a bit much at first, but it died down eventually (11:30 or so). There was some weird vibration I couldn’t place, because it disappeared when I got up to look for it. I ended up switching ends of the bed to make it go away. I have to think it was hotel-​related because it wasn’t coming from some other source outside. There is plenty of breakfast, hot and cold, if that’s your thing. Overall nothing special, but a good value if you want to stay along the Interstate.

My family and I recently traveled to a funeral in Laredo, Texas. We were set to arrive around 1:30 or 2pm. I called the hotel a few times to see if they offered early check in and the lady at the front desk named Francis told me very rudely that check in was 3, but she would see as the time got closer if we could enter our rooms a bit earlier. I was annoyed with her attitude, but said okay and made an online reservation nonetheless. So we arrive at 1:00 in Laredo. I call again and she said the room was not ready yet, to call around 2pm. Again, i said okay. I called at 2, and she said the room would be ready within the next 30 to 45 minutes. We arrived at the hotel at 2:30 only to be told the room was not ready, to try again in 15 minutes. Well, we ended up paying for the room at 2:50, went to the room and housekeeping still wasn’t done cleaning! They said it would be another 10 minutes! I spoke to the young ladies cleaning, and they told me that Francis had not told them anything and weren’t told to clean the room earlier or any faster. These poor girls were rushing when it wasn’t their fault. I was livid. I called and complained to someone on the phone. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I will never return and will tell my friends and family not to stay there.
The breakfast was a joke. Cereal was stale and the muffins were hard. Overall just a bad experience. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I should have gone with my gut and stayed at the SpringHill. Same price. Much nicer facility.
