I would like to give them five stars, but I cannot. We ordered two sandwiches. A good morning Vietnam, and a Cubano. The GM Vietnam was almost perfect. Great flavor, loved the extra cilantro. However, the meat on the sandwich only covered the center of the bread. The rest was nothing but bread. Maybe 60% coverage. As far as the Cubano goes, once again, sparse on the meat, and they really need to change the pickles. Sorry, but a great Cubano has real vinegar based dill pickles, and yours far woefully short. You need the big sour to complement the pork and the ham. Totally missing on this sammy. They also give you apparently home made chips with every sandwich. Ours were way overcooked and kind of burnt.

I really like Scratch! the food always seems to be fresh and even though not always great, always very good. I really enjoy their Mile High Club and some of their soups are great. the building interior is a little cramped and their furniture is not the most comfortable but they make up for that in freshness and customer service.

Boom! Sandwich shop with an attitude. Great brews and unique sandwich creations. I had the Mile High Club but I dined alone and I’m not sure if that is permitted in Laredo. Sandwich«broke da mouth»…House made chips-delicious. Very chill vibe — worthy of going back to try the Crazy Scratch Fries or the Adult Grilled Cheese. Winner!!!

4.5÷5 stars This place is such a gem in the city of Laredo. The essence of original, gourmet sandwiches are truly reflected in each of these items in the menu. They have a sandwich for every palette, and although they’re a little more on the pricey end, trust me, it will be well spent money. Nothing can account for the creativity and ingenuity they put into each one of these sandwiches. Highly satisfied with the service as well as the selection of sandwiches. very likely to return each time I’m in town and very likely to recommend to people. Amazing and fantastic sandwiches. So glad a business like this came to Laredo.

Wow. One of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten such a mixture of flavor textures and seasoning. I guess you can say I join«the mile high club». Yes that is the name of the sandwich. The tomato soup was so perfectly seasoned with just a hint of spice. The only bad thing I can say is that they do not have root beer! Service was upbeat and friendly they get some root beer they get five stars

Great sandwich! Love that this place is open in Laredo. Such a nice bunch of guys working there. I have a ridiculous medical prescribed diet that I’m on and mayo is not on the list of things I can eat. Fortunately they had a great lemon spread that didn’t have mayo in it. It went great on my shrimp sandwich. Would love to see more seafood(not fried) options, but the shrimp sandwich was delicious! Great service and cool environment!

Food: Excellent! Made my own salad and had a cup of their chicken chili. Awesome stuff! Service: A little frustrating. Kid just didn’t have it together. Refill shouldn’t take 5 minutes. I’ll definitely come back here though.

Delicious sandwiches! Love the when Harry met Sally… I always get it w/out dressing and sauerkraut on the side… Would be nice if they made a Reuben sandwich… Only thing I don’t like, for delivery, 4⁄5 the order is wrong… Other than that, great spot

Immediately greeted right when you walk in the door. Server makes you feel comfortable right away… wasn’t sure want I wanted until he told me about a new Vietnamese style sandwich that was brand new and hadn’t been added to the menu yet. Sandwich was fantastic lots of short ribs and veggies. Fries with cheese sauce is a great side. Nice craft beers on tap to top it off. Will be back every time I am in Laredo.

I visited for the 1st time with one of my co-workers, I had adult grill cheese turkey sandwich with homemade chips and my co-worker had a grill cheese with pastrami delicious, fresh, quick and the server was very attentive, and accommodated the request from a picky eater. We are in town for 2 more, I will most definitely be back.

Awesome sandwich shop, their mile ‘high club’ and the ‘if pigs could fly’ are my favorites. Can be a little cramped at times, but you’ll get over it at the first bite.

Not bad, fried pickles are a little on the thin cut side, the deadliest catch is great! The shrimp po boy is too salty for my liking. Cuban is great as well! Chips are pretty good, I’ll try something else next time though

This place is always on point. The food is always delicious and today the service was excellent. Very helpful when choosing a sandwich, refilling our drinks, and accommodating our toddler. I would recommend Scratch to anyone who likes good food! I mean, GOODFOOD!

Heaven forbid if you find yourself in Laredo, TX — this is really a little spot of sunshine. Scratch is a fantastic sandwich shop. Only problem is, it is in Laredo… If this place were in my neighborhood, I’d go here almost twice a week. Glad I found this place from Unilocal. The Laredo food scene is pretty grim otherwise(just your regular national chains). This seemed like the cool joint in Laredo. Menu/Food — Tons of vegetarian options including salads, soups and sandwiches. I tried the make your own custom sandwich, put almost all veggies and their scratch sauce. It was Amaazzzing! Its mayonnaise, sriracha and a hint of wasabi(Yes, wasabi) — you might think it wont work, but they know just exactly how much to put. The sauce was the highlight for me, loved the sandwich. They do make their bread from scratch(hence the name). They have white bread and nine grain bread(which is pretty much white bread with some grains on top) — but its delicious. The house chips were crisp, fresh and well seasoned. They have some nice southern style flavored ice teas with fresh lime/fruit. They serve the food in some chic aluminium trays which look pretty cool. Ambiance — They have a nice dive bar kind of environment. Clean and well lit. They have several enormous TVs all around, enjoyed seeing the footballl game on them. Restrooms & cutlery were clean. Service — The waitress was friendly to give us directions over the phone. Gave us ample time to browse the menu. Food came out fresh and pretty quickly and the waitress came to ask about how we liked the food and was really genuine. They also accept american express.

My buddy found this sandwich shop on Unilocal! However, it did not have many helpful reviews to base our dinner selection. We went anyway! We decided to try it since it was a new eatery place for us! Customers are greeted right away and the staff seems friendly and knowledgable about their menu. A definite plus in my book! A kind and friendly staff member brings customers their orders and seems to be genuine when checking on the customer needs. The establishment is clean and very inviting — giving off a comfortable vibe… a relax feeling if you will. In any case; I ordered the Shrimp Po’Boy sandwich on ciabatta bread with their spicy-like chips. This sandwich was the special of the day. I figured I’d try the special on my first visit. It hit the spot! The sandwich came with a good amount of plump shrimp with just the right amount of cold slaw and a hint of some type of sauce. The spicy-like chips complimented the taste of the sandwich — making me feel like it was the right sandwich selection! I washed it down with a 20FLOZ plastic bottle of Diet Coke. This segway’s into the beverage selection. The sandwich shop does not have fountain drinks, rather it has a Coke refrigerator with drink selections in it — much like the beverage refrigerators you see by the aisles of Wal-Mart. In any case, the meal was delicious! It made me realize that it’s a good sandwich place to re-visit and try their other selections!

My buddy and I decided to make an impromptu visit to this neatly placed sandwich joint located at a uniquely themed strip mall. The ratings didn’t play much into our decision to check this place out. We made the command decision to try it out despite said reviews(or lack thereof). The name of the place just caught my attention during my internet quest for an evening meal. It piqued my interest because freshness is implied in the name — Scratch Sandwich Company! As we entered the shop, we were immediately greeted by an employee and the door was held open for us in a very welcoming fashion. Hoping to find Lent friendly items on the menu, I was pleased to find out that there was a seafood option. It so happened that the special of the day was the Shrimp«Not So Po Boy» sandwich which I immediately blurted out as soon as it was my turn to order at the counter. As I anxiously awaited the arrival of my sandwich, I noticed that the same employee that opened the door for us was diligently tending to every customer in the store, expediting orders and servicing every seated party. About 10 minutes later, my order arrived on an industrial looking cake pan — quite the novel idea I thought! The ciabatta bread was perfectly soft with a nice crust, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and soooo tender and the slaw that topped the shrimp was a highlight in and of itself. The sauce was tangy and uniquely flavorful. The equally superlative house made potato chips were better than any I’ve ever had. Shame on the community of Laredo for not providing more reviews on the Scratch Sandwich Company and providing the Unilocaling community insight on this south Texas must visit sandwich shop.
