House of Blinds and Shutters

This review is concerning House of Blinds & Shutters located in Largo FL, Brad Welton, owner. I needed a new track for my vertical blinds installed. I went on the Home Advisor website. They gave me the name of this firm. The installer quoted $ 280 for the repair, which I accepted. They did the repair but charged my credit card for $ 150 on 2÷26÷16 and $ 280 3÷3÷16. In other words, they overcharged me $ 150. I contacted their office and was advised by «Scott» my account would be credited back. Nothing happened. After repeated calls with both Scott and Welton, still no refund. Had I not checked my account, I firmly believe they would have kept my money. I contacted Home Advisor, which is prominently advertised on firm’s website. They promptly informed me they are paid by the firm to provide marketing, i.e., funnel prospects to them. They further stated, they represent independent contractors such as this firm. While they do a background check, nothing is further done on their part. In other words, Home Advisor has been of no help in correcting this matter. Today, Welton contacted me and stated he would personally come to my condo and refund the $ 150. Of course, this never happened. I am still out the $ 150 with nothing but excuses from both House of Blinds and Shutters and Home Advisor. The public should be aware that the advertising on the website of their association is paid for by House of Blinds and Shutters. As a matter of fact, Welton sent to me a copy of a page from his Paypal account (yes, this is how they do business through a Paypal account) showing the alleged refund to my account (hasn’t happened) and one the same page a $ 152 payment to Home Advisor, which I assume is their marketing payment. What a cozy arrangement between House of Blinds and Shutters and Home Advisor. Be aware of both of these firms.

Our vertical blinds/​tracks needed to be repaired. Called House of Blinds because it was located close to our Sand Key home. Brad appeared within a few hours… prompt, courteous, knowledgeable… and reasonably priced. We couldn’t be more pleased.
